This is my EDC I've been carrying this gun and training with it ever since my dad gave it to me I feel very comfortable with this pistol and it's saved my life 2 times. Great review my friend it's a terrific hand gun for a low price, accurate, beautiful, deadly.
Awesome review. Thanks so much for posting. I'm looking forward to picking up one of their CZ variants. I already have a TP9V2 and love it. Great quality and value. I have slightly over 1000 rounds down range with that one and not one single hiccup, bobble or problem at all. Very accurate too. Loving the Caniks. Thanks again.
All canik cz75 upgrades (clones) are imported by TriStar while the polymer striker fired pistols are imported by Century Arms. I have 1500 troublefree rounds through my c100 chrome lightweight compact and I'm a happy camper! The quality is the same or possibly better than its parent-the cz75 series! I spent a year in Tukey with NATO and the music sucks-lol
I like mine, A LOT! Ended up costing $400 tax and all. Nice box, 2 mags, mag loading tool, etc, etc. Well worth the money. Jericho top on a Witness bottom, carry it about as much as everything else put together.
I think this gun gets sold short especially for what all this lil gun delivers for such a low price,.. comparatively... I give it Two Thumbs Way Up !! And why yes,.. it is a ISO 9000 factory ,... so is Taurus but for some reason ppl bash the hell outta Taurus. Ive had pretty good luck with both manufacturers myself,. The one manufacturer that has given me problems is Kel Tec, but that was only the PF 9 that I had issue with.
if this gun performs half as well as my canik tp9 then I'll be one happy camper! over 1800 rounds through that gun with NO hiccups at all! Next on my list is the shark-c! thanks for the vid!
I know I'm late to the party here but for any other person who wants to own a canik 55 compact I swear by it, 4,000+ rounds put through this gun no jams only one hiccup due to it not being cleaned properly and it survived a car accident, terrific gun saved my life more than once and is very reliable and affordable
Got the tp9. Now looking for others. These really are great items. The machine is better than ones double or more in price. The fit and finish are nice also. Shoots great. I git the titanium color one.
I would have got one but they were never in stock! So I got lucky and a CZ PO-7 9mm, the newer model not the Duty. Glad to have it. But if it was the other way I would be happy to have the Shark . Great pistols
Hey hey found the stingray tonight. Cost me 428 total. Little more than online but I got to personally handle and inspect it first and that's worth fifty bucks I guess really kinda. Yes local buying and looking at it does sometimes cost a little more. The black one. Thank you again for the video.
I have the L-120 and two C-100 compact models. The more I shoot them the more I like them. Nothing but Russian steel case ammo. No problems now at approx. 3000 rounds between the three pistols. Most out of the L-120. Excellent value .
Holsters for a Jericho 941 FS will fit this gun perfectly. Aliengear also has a holster for the full size Jericho 941 and the word is it also fits the semi-compact jericho. I just ordered one but have yet to confirm, will prolly be a week or two before I get it in the mail.
Good video review. Outstanding design taken from CZ and IMI I wonder about these Sar CZ models compared to the Striker Fired ( SF) Canik models. Like to see a comparison video of all the major Sar and Canik(SF) Turkish pistol models.
I have owned a few CZ pistols... and generally I think they are the best money can buy. I'm starting to think the Canik versions are actually better higher quality at a lower price point. I know their manufacturing facility is ISO compliant which definitely means something if you know about manufacturing.
Tristar T100 same as Canik Shark C if you can't find the Canik. (Tristar is Importer, Canik manufacturer) CZ75 compact grips fit T100/Shark-C, nice upgrade over original plastic grips
H.E. Miller I put a set of Cool Hand coyote color grips on my T-100 and they fit really good and improved grip feel tremendously. Plus they look great and $25 cheaper than VZ grips.
With the Coup in Turkey I'm pretty sure these won't be imported ever again, especially since they're wanting approx. 800 USD a piece for them now ( according to Canik 55 website). Probably a good collectors item in the future..Everyone says you need a name brand for it to be a good investment, but a lot of rare guns that are worth a lot today aren't the popular brands.
I love my t100. The only thing wrong with it is the beavertail's pointy sides that dug into the web of my hand. Just glad I decided to get the chrome version since sanding down the pointy edge doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I upgraded mine with CZ rubber grips and a lighter spring kit from CGW (highly recommended). I carry in half-cocked position since my hands are too small for a reliably accurate double action trigger pull.
This looks like the baby eagle, would you compare both of them in some future?? would be an awesome review. Try to do a little research of the MKEK company that make canik barrels, it's a government company with high technological research field and amazing quality control. I am considering in buying a jericho941 compact or this one to CC in summer time.
So, its not an exact fit, but... I have a Baby Eagle that is identical to this and it fits in my Beretta PX4 Compact holster. Its leather so it forms a bit, so probably wont work in kydex.
Mr. Improper, how would you compare the Shark C to the Beretta PX4 Storm? I love my PX4 Compact but I also really like the look of the chrome Shark C and I'm wondering how they compare, especially in the trigger. If the Shark is even close to the PX4 then I might have to pick one up. Thanks!
Being a southpaw, I'd prefer not to have to mess with the safety; so carrying it with the safety off and hammer down seems to be the way to go. I do the same with my P229. I am curious about how safe this is though. Looking at the footage of the internals, I'm not seeing anything resembling a firing pin block. Are accidental discharges a risk if the hammer is hit hard enough while down? Thanks!
hmmm! Lemme see.....I just checked a couple of forums, and it seems the Canik series DO have firing pin blocks. One guy said, "The sear and the FPB lifter are kind of locked together, so I am curious as what is going on in the lockwork underneath. " I personally don't know. I DO know that if you carried the gun in 1/2 cock, the hammer will go no further unless the trigger is all the way pulled.
I have this gun. It takes a decent amount of pull to use the double action on this pistol. The only way its gonna shoot is if you pull it. You can even just leave the hammer uncocked. You pull it once and youre good to go. Its not hard to pull the trigger on double action but its not easy to just go off by itself either
Well sure! A variety of different places will have it for many different prices. But any way you slice it: $429.00 isn't bad for the gun...and $329 is a friggin steal! I'd bolt at that price!
Carry mine half cocked and locked ,easy fingure access and if feel it's safest especially appended carry..that's just me..my trigger has went from 4-12 new from factory to 3/12 after 350 rounds..so I won't be doing any trigger work, they do get a lot lighter after awhile.mysaftey is also very easy from factory, but also its a tri star, little different from your on cosmetics..and yes they are accurate.2.5 inch groups at 25 yards, got mine for 369:00
I wanted a Stingray- very similar to this bad. But I think Canik stopped making the shark and stingray. Maybe they wanted to concentrate on the TP9's that seem so popular. Anyone know if these are gone forever?
Turks have a couple of nice looking guns out for the cheap too. I own a PX4 40 and a Sig 9mm. Both really good guns for the price. These look like another affordable option.
It's also the Tristar T100. Buds has none now, but here's their Tristar pistols. They have a similar compact pistol in there which operates the same. Try buds guns. Go into hand guns, and then Tristar.
I liked it better the first two times it was released, when it was called the CZ 75 compact and the Jericho / Baby Eagle 941 compact. Plus, I don't willingly give money to muslims. Nevertheless, appears to be a decent pistol.
Shrewd _GC The Jericho is a copy of the CZ75. The Czechs did not obtain international patents on the CZ75 (way to go communism) so Tonfoglio of Italy copied the designed and made their own copies which were sold in the US as the Springfield P9 and now as the EAA Witness and made parts for the Israelis to assemble into Jerichos - Jericho are now entirely made in Israel. I think maybe the Turks were listening to all those folks saying the Jericho is a great looking pistol but the safety is in the wrong place.
Hey! Yeah...I was corrected by a Turk...lol......I made that distinction in my Sarsilmaz video. THE TP9 will be mine....someday. I'd love that thing! How long have you had it?
2improper No that is not true. Inspection does add anything to the product. Process control is what controls the quality of a product. You can never inspect quality into a product. Inspectors make just as many mistakes as everyone else. The US fought and won WWII without ISO 9000.
Ok: let me put it like this: the management systems, also involving quality control and effectiveness of the system would not be applied to...(say)...a bunch of bums working out of a garage on nothing specific, or in just a general basis. The management systems they get involved with have to be going somewhere. Specifically a useable product that pleases the share holders and (by proxy) satisfied customers. It's true that ISO 9000-9001 may not apply to every manufacturer or be of much use to some. BUT IT IS A MEASURE that ensures those that use it have quality control components to their systems.
This is a Baby Eagle knock off . I wonder if these are still on the market ? Added: Yes of course the Baby Eagle is a CZ copy I own one. I also have a Tanfoglio, and EAA also CZ copies BUT they have frame mounted safeties like my older model B. Eagle. BUT the bevel under the muzzle is a Desert Baby/Eagle original unofficial "trade mark" to bad they never registered it as such. I'd buy a Shark but everyone is sold out except Bud's whom I refuse to deal with.
+John Petrello : I think you need a eye exam as I have a baby Eagle which is a CZ knock off with difference which are very apparent. For instance look under the muzzle at the Eagle trademark bevel..........................
...The IMI Jericho 941/MR Baby Eagle II are also both CZ clones. The Desert Eagle has nothing to do with the Baby Eagle, other than they are both owned by Magnum Research. Magnum research imported the Jericho to the US under the name Baby Eagle II.
Also if you were asking if Baby Eagles were still on the market, they are available as the IWI Jericho 941 or the Magnum Research Baby Eagle III. In steel or polymer.
I'm stupidly conflicted between this and the new Jericho 941. I guess it all depends on whether or not I want to spend the extra $100 for the IWI logo.
+cz75fanatic Aimsurplus is selling LE trade in IMI Jericho 941s for $400. I've found them even cheaper elsewhere but I'm not telling you till I get mine ordered. They're a lot cheaper with holster wear, and then I don't feel bad carrying and abuse it.
+cz75fanatic : And a real safety which id a must for me. Sold my Canik becuse it lacked that and made me feel uncomfortable being a single action and all. "Locked and cocked" is my motto !
Strange that XD is made in Croatia , yet they stamp " Springfield " on it an there seems to be no problems from the same ones that critize buying Turkish firearms. Would this xenophobia apply to "H&K" or "Norinco"? It is a global world and many countries are making good quality firearms. Canik has a great reputation and their pistols are performing all around the world in some very bad neighborhoods. I would bet once " Colt" sticks it's name in the side it will become a 600.00 pistol, just as the XD went from 250.00 to 500.00 gun just because it put " Springfield" on it's slides.
TapRackGirl Mine is cute but i have the desert tan version lol. Also the shark is alloy and the stingray is all steel so its much heavier. It weighs the same as my rock island compact 1911.
+Got The fact I wouldn't say it's about respect. It's about people not being raised to speak languages with different pronunciations of different letters of the alphabet. Many languages pronounce a 'J' like a 'Y'..... Or a 'C' like 'GH'. We have silent letters you don't pronounce.... etc, etc.
Jack Halpern well....a copy, yes: Saying ripoff may be a bit strong, though. I think the origins go back to CZ not renewing the design patent and when their term ran out the design became free reign. IWI Jerico was as much a ripper-offer as the rest.
Yeah, I just happen to know a Turkish fellow. I had a feeling we were all pronouncing it incorrectly. Hickok45 also did a little research with a couple of Turkish guys. They all pronounced it the same way. Have a great day.
Ok. I'll bite. What makes you say critical defense 'sucks?'. Is it not effective? Is Critical Duty the best defensive round ever; ballistically and load? I am trying to get to why you say critical defense 'sucks.' Tell me what sucks about it.
the way you are thumbing the trigger is unsafe for three reasons. One you defeat the drop safety. Two you are unnecessarily placing yourself in danger trying to do this throw back to poor gun handling from WW2. Three there is no need to defeat the safety, you already have to disengage the thumb safety. Thumbs down on firearms handling.
+2improper Sure it is a video and it does not traverse the internet. All all it does is show/teach people the wrong way or the unsafe way to handle weapons. I know you may not think it is a big deal, but for all of us veterans and folks who want to see the correct way to handle a weapon, don't pass poor habits to a new generation.
I'm sorry friend, but there is reasonable vigilance on that sort of thing, and over the top vigilance. A person who can reasonably deduce by how many times I pull the trigger, rack the slide, or take down the firearm in front of them that the gun isn't loaded and that I'm doing it because I'm demonstrating form and function. If a person watches me handle and review a firearm and then applies the trigger demo practices to a live ammo situation, they are either a small child that gained illegal access to someone's gun, an autistic person who gained illegal access to someone's gun, or a functional idiot that no one could help anyway. My videos are for the information for or entertainment of the reasonably thinking gun enthusiasts. I (and most others) aren't likely to forego trigger and handling demo for the purpose of retentive protectionism. I am glad you think safely with firearms- and I'm sure you (and I) won't 'thumb the trigger' with a loaded gun: aside from that, I'll continue to apply reason to the situation at hand. I've never released a video after a fatal self-inflicted gun shot wound, and I promise I never will.
Regardless, the Canik/Tristar guns aren't CZ clones, they're Tanfoglio clones. There are minor differences between the Tanfoglio and CZ designs when it comes to the trigger mechanism. The Shark series are copies of the Jericho in exterior design only.
Well I have to sop you there: Tanfoglio is also CZ clones. CZ (in fact) did not get their patent stuff in order, it expired, and after that everyone was free and clear to use the slide-in-frame design, the removable take down with matching dashes, etc. If CZ got their stuff in order on time, Canik, Tanfoglio, IWI, Sarsilmaz, Rock Island Armory, and MANY more gun manufacturers would not be able to use the mechanics made by CZ.
oh my God.....I'm so sorry! HEY EVERYBODY! My Music was so awful!! BLUEKRON77 didn't like my music! Oh damn,damn,damn,damn......why oh WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY did I choose that music!???! I should have asked bluekron77, but I didn't! *sob*
