Canik TTI Combat ( MAJOR PROBLEMS update)  

I bought one and here's my experience: Took it from the gun store to the range and had 3 light primer strikes in the first 23 shots. Then the gun ran perfect for the next 177 rounds. I took it out again a week later and the gun had 2 light primer strikes out of 300 round put thru the gun. I then took it home and clean the crap out of the gun and lightly oiled the gun with thin lube and cycled the slide around 200 times. I've been to the range two more time and have run 500 round thru the gun without issue. I think the gun needs a very good cleaning right out of the box and I do believe cycling the slide over 200 times and help break in the gun... This is just my 2 cents worth.

I have two TTIs the second I got from someone who got pissed and sold it for 700 because they had a ftrtb.. I used the same ammo I used in mine and never had an issue with it.. on either one.. never went below 124g and I don’t use shit ammo.. that’s it.. both run really well. I am trading the second one for a shadow systems but there’s nothing wrong with it.. so idk what the issues are so I can’t really comment on them

What's occurring is failure to return to battery. Sometimes so slight, that you can barely tell the slide is not in full battery. I field-stripped mine. I noticed the polymer was slightly too high at the rear of the frame, near/above the beavertail area. I used a fine nail file and lightly sanded down the polymer just a small amount. I then felt the entire frame looking for raised areas, and rough areas on the black polymer. When I found them, I very lightly sanded them as well. Cleaned, lubed and re-assembled. 1,000 rounds later, not a single failure with 18 or 21-round factory mags.

canik has always been garbage

It looks awesome but I went with the PDP Pro Compact and glad I did! It works and has an EXCELLENT trigger

Is it possible ur rubbing the slide lock???... It looks like ur close when u ran the 124gr...

I about drove myself mad. Please check the slide release spring. Make sure it’s all the way in place. Mine wasn’t. I started having a few problems but then my son noticed the release being loose. Too loose. Checked it for sure it was the little spring was popped out of place a little, not holding tension on the release causing it to catch the slide. Push it back down in place in the back of the spring. No more FTRTB

I bought one of these POS and have been unable to get an RA from Century to repair it. Poor quality, and very poor Custome Service, please steer clear of Canik for a self defense weapon.

U should not have to all my caniks had a few issues until i ran multiple rounds in itonce i got to about 250 it cylced out the kinks

I own a TTi and have no issues so far, also what 124 are you using? I have Blazer Brass a noticed in fine print the package says do not use in firearms with ported barrels or with a compensator. I have run 115 and 124 thru mine no failure to feeds, stock installed spring.

I had similar issues, 10 failures out of first 50 right out of box from gun shop. So went home cleaned her up then 20 failures out of 200 rounds - cleaned her again same 20 of 200 failed contacted Century send new heavy duty green spring , 350 rounds no issues !! Running standard range & target 155gr Winchester and Blazer . So far much better. I (I also noticed after cleaning first time the issues popped up after about 120 rounds once she was hot.. ) so my test run with new spring was 250 rounds continuous shooting . She was hot and running great .. the new spring seems to have worked for me..

I had problems with the standard magazine. Sending it back. Extended mag works flawlessly and I bought a new mag which works flawlessly.

I do not currently own a Canik, but I will in the near future. Because of this interest, several other pages posted about this problem. There is what I'll call a tab on the firing pin that hits another point when fired. This is enough to prevent the firing pin from even denting the primer. No know mfg fix was presented by Canik, but apparently upgrading the recoil spring to a Glock higher pressure helps over ride this situation. If you check the firing pin tab and it's counter part in the slide, you should notice slight chunks missing due to impact from firing. Again, no mfg fix was presented. The higher pressure Glock spring helps mitigate the issue, but likely only until too much of either piece chips away, causing a yet to be discovered issue. It's either a material used issue by a contractor, a mfg failure to call for an inadequate material, or a design error. Hope this helps. I will acquire a Canik, and this issue has not detoured my interest.

I had all the same problems with it not returning to battery. But after i fixed my grip and it was broken in ive had zero issues. Its been perfect

Hey man, I think it’s the mag over feeding into the chamber. I’ve seen a lot of other people talk about this with caniks. My buddy tried to use his TTI Mag in my Rival S and it did exactly the same thing. I would try multiple mags while dry firing, and press on them while dropping the slide to see if they catch. To see if the follower is getting stuck.

I honestly have the same problem with mine. It’s completely random light primer strikes cause the gun to not fire at random points. I got just about 800+ rounds out of mine ran it clean and dirty with different range ammunition(it hates Fiocchi btw) and I’ve had the same problem all around. Even with good ammo like federal and Hornady I’ve had these random light primer strikes. I’ve tested these same rounds that didn’t go off in other firearms I have ie. My Glock 19 and SA35 Springfield and sig p320 and the round went off everytime. Not sure what’s wrong but a little upsetting knowing it’s a 1k firearm that is having these random problem. Everything else about the firearm is great though, accurate, best trigger out the box, recoil is good, and the feel and look of it is great. Just functionally wise it’s frustrating when u want it to work it’s not reliable

You really need to work on your grip because it is not the correct grip for a semi auto pistol. you are wrapping the left thumb over the right thumb, that is a revolver grip. Every time you grip the gun it's a little different, index finger on the trigger guard etc. There are a lot of vids showing the proper grip for a semi auto pistol on here. I'm not here to be to critical but your grip on that gun is not good.

Same issues with my brand new Canik TTI. It shoots really well and amazing trigger. Just not dependable. Canik needs to recall and fix this issue properly.

I had it on pre-order and cancelled it. I'm so glad I did. The gun looks awesome, but these failures are unacceptable. I got a Tanfoglio Stock 3 Pro instead. It's a totally different gun, but I love it. For a polymer pistol I'd go with the pdp polymer match.

. The gun comes with a secondary spring in the box. Try installing that one. I have one and the gun is better than 2 of the H&K’s I own.

I have the same gun ran it with 115gr on the original spring and so far no problems but my son we bought out the same day and he has the problem with the slide not fully returning for the the shot

3 ftf in 600 rounds thru my Rival S. A closer look shows that the striker has a mushroom on the inside tab that slides in a groove in the gun. But something is stopping the gun from letting the striker hit the primer on the bullet. With it apart, we depressed the striker safety a little deep and the striker won't hit the primer. We also depressed the safety not as far and it prevents the striker from hitting the primer. It's the only thing that blocks the striker movement. Might be a striker safety issue.

Shouldn’t have to trim the extractor spring on a new gun, I agree, but that is what a few people have posted getting replaced when sent to Canik ( in addition to the new recoil spring) I just trimmed it and fixed it myself 🤷

I was able to shoot a little bit over 100 rounds out of mine so far I only had 2 failures in mine, both times the slide didnt go back into battery. could have been me maybe not but for sure had that same issue. I seen the gun is supposed to have a "200 round break in period"

Im just here seeing im not the only one with issues with the tti combat i still feel light strikes on the bullets kinda freeks me out seeing a live round unfired Just hopefully theres a answer too this night mare ...

It's the comp. Pistols only run well comp d if you use plus p ammo

1500 failure free rounds through mine. Head down reloading at belly/waist tells me all I need to know. One should Get formal training. 🤙🏽

I'm glad I waited till all the paid reviews died down.I went with the 5.75 mete sfx pro. With a micr comp. Mine runs like it should.Do recommend polishing feed ramp on all caniks.
