@@eldiablo3794 the band dont give a shit with those super technical blast beat. Its all about the music and nothing more. Paul just want to complenent the music and be tight much as possible. Hes not and will never be a flashy drummer and on my side, less is way more effective

@@FiratC. If his technique was improper, he’d sound like Chris Barnes does now. There’s no way you can have a long career as a harsh vocalist like George while having an incorrect technique. It’s just not sustainable. He would have decimated his vocal cords by now.

His playing has a drunken swing to it that just cant be faked, and its a massive massive part of what makes cannibal corpse sound as heavy as they do, all these new cats out there dont get it, trying to play as tightly as possible all the time.

@@fredrikandersson164 Thank you for your answer ! 1998 was such a good year for metal : Marduk - Nightwing, Cannibal Corpse - Gallery of Suicide (their absolute best), Cradle of Filth - Cruelty and the Beast (their absolute best as well), Morbid Angel - Formulas Fatal to the Flesh (their absolute artistic peak as well)... and Panzer Division was the first album I was waiting for as it came out ! I know the sound comes from the drummer, more than from the brand of the instruments, but were you playing Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals ? What pedals were you using back then ? And what pedals are you using, now ?

Paul is a cool dude. Met him in 08 or 09 at a show at town ballroom buffalo ny

I randomly had dinner with him once. It was a Philly pizza shop he liked. It was packed in there. I got my food and looked for a seat, nothing to be found. He saw me, wearing a Benediction shirt, rightfully assumed I was going to the show, and said I could I join him at his table. I refused at first because he was on his time and I didn't want to interrupt that, but he insisted. Insanely chill dude. We barely even spoke music, just life and being a family man. He's a proud father as am I. Very easy to talk to and super stoked on the life he gets to lead because of the fans. Beyond thankful for that opportunity to meet a hero of mine. He has played on some of the best songs ever and helped create one the best bands ever!

Yeah. Skank beats don’t sound right without the 8th notes. Some just hit the snare and hi-hat/cymbal with the kick in between. Just doesn’t sound the same

@@tomasviking wręcz mam wrażenie, że dba o to, na ile może. Żeby poprawiać swoją formę za bębnami. Wielu w wieku Paula jedzie już tylko na legendzie. A on, widać, że pracuje nad swoją fizycznością, i jej coraz większymi ograniczeniami. Podchodzi do grania poważnie. I jest przede wszystkim przemiłym facetem. Cenię wszystkie wymienione powyżej cechy, bardzo wysoko.

Yup .. he stuck in old school drum Tempos... and he has success over it .....its time for a new tempo idk I love cannibal but its getting old... 30 years of same rhythm... .. gets old and repetitive

He's garbage. As I get older I like them less lol I used to really like him in high school but as a drummer myself he plays the same groove and boring "hammer blast" I feel like hes the Lars Ulrich of death metal drumming getting away with the same sloppy grooves. These are RU-vid drumming channels need to do drumming spotlights on drummers like Steve Asheim from Deicide. Old school death metal drummer that's always pushing the limits of his drumming that guy is a beast.
