Order at: www.metalblade.com/cannibalcorpse Cannibal Corpse tracks guitars and bass at Sonic Ranch Studios with producer Erik Rutan. All footage was shot by the band.
Convinced that Alex is some kind of genius savant. The dude is just too dialed into what he does and his brain is like acutely measured to write bass parts
Unfortunately though in many of the bands mixes he is very hard to pick out at times.. This band has so many "ghost.. notes" that never make it in the actual mix...... Hense I believe why Rutan has given the nickname aha
these guys are actual metalheads for a living...how insane is that ?! Rutan's got his own kitchen in there, a huge studio, can wear long hair at 35 or wtvr he is, these guys can be married with kids but actually remain metal people... they must have sooooooooooooo much fun, they're so blessed.
He's playing the same group of notes but in an arpeggio set. I'd have to read the score to figure out if the arpeggio ascending/descending happens in separate bars or the same bar, but in a 16/4 bar instead of 4/4 if that makes sense on RU-vid.
If you haven't already, look up Alex's other band 'Blotted Science'. Those maniacs created an all instrumental album depicting the motion of insects through music. AND each song synchs up perfectly with a particular movie scene (Creepshow ect) Fuckin brilliant
Everything you need to know about this video 0:53 Paul "If George like nails it, it would like.....Dude that's killer cuz were doing those stops it's like something weve never done"! Yeah Yeah DUDU..DUUUUUUUU!!!!! Alex "DUDUDUDUDUDUDUUUUUU 3:20 Pat is pissed with guitar hum. 7:14 Alex references SLAYER 7:15 Alex wants root beer 7:22 Pat is pissed about tuning his guitars because of magic tuning orbs cursing everything. 9:58 Music theory geekout with Alex Webster. 10:35 Eric is happy they have defeated the dreaded tuning orb from earlier
When you see Pat grindin the base plate there for extra low intonation, you can actually just grind the bottom corner of the saddles to make'em go way back without altering the Floyd plate.
Goddamn, I love Alex Webster because he’s such a stellar bassist. They are all very talented and I’d listen to cannibal corpse all day everyday if I could get into how the vocals sound. I wish I had that taste.
I met him and Paul a month after this video was released. They are such intelligent, respectful and talented individuals. They really had time for the fans, and it was like talking to a friend. Can't wait to meet them again :)
no, it isn't. i love death metal and classical music too, but it only relation in these two genres is atonality. and atonality emerged only in the late 19s and expanded with the second vienese school. Bach, Lully and Beethoven's music has nothing to do with death metal. but if you meant the unlistenablity part of music (comparing Bach to Boulez and Beatles to CC), you're right. sorry for my english.
There is not one song I actually like by Cannibal Corpse. I have tried many times. HOWEVER, I could watch and listen to Alex play and/or talk all day. I also really enjoy their documentary dvds. So I respect em and what they do. Oh and Alex on Conquering Dystopia was mind blowing
I hear ya.. I had plenty Death metal and knew of them but never had any of their CD's but just watched 3 hours straight documentary on them the other day and they're all smart, talented, fun loving pro's really. Very interesting history and seeing the line up changes and junk.
Diggin that Accept shirt on Alex! Very underrated band from the 80's, they still play a killer live show! It's also just unbelievable how good Alex is...
I`m sure Pat can actually write a song about the experience of savagely attacking that Floyd Rose tremolo with that dentistry look alike tool... Why doesn´t he just switch to a 7 string guitar???? Sick... He´s a guitar master by the way... I hope he never quits...
7 strings play differently, since the G string interval is higher up on them. I'd imagine some songs would be unplayable like that. They used to use them though on the late 90s records.
You'd think Pat surely has the profile in the industry to be connected with a guitar manufacturer who can make him an extended 27" scale 6 string for those uber low tunings without having to use a 7 string.
not into this band to a great degree but this shit is VERY hard to play as an artiste myself i know. btw, people associating knowledge and intelligence with only certain kinds of music are themselves severely lacking in knowledge and intelligence.
Yeah dude I'm 13 and I'm trying to learn a lot of ccs stuff. I learned almost all of their songs on tomb of the mutilated and butchered at birth, and also a lot of stuff on torture
Hahaha "tuning orb"!!! When Pat's going on about the tuning issues the look on his face is like, he doesn't even immediately realise he's being funny. Either that or he has a massively dry sense of humour. But yeah, that bit is pretty damn hilarious.
@@kozmo617 he didn't stab anyone you fucking dipshit. He had a mental breakdown and wanted to die because he had a breakdown don't be troll shut the fuck up!
