yes you are able to can brats! just put them in a large mouth pint jar that's it! but brats need 90 minutes to pressure can only can in pint jars
Preserve your meats for long term storage. When you can your Bratwurst you can save them for long periods of time. You can eat them out of the jar, they are already cooked. I show you an easy way to can your brats. Any sausage can be canned, follow for more canning videos.

I am convinced that the reason they put expiration dates on canned goods is so we will throw away perfectly good food and buy more.

I too have been canning for years and have learned that meat that is packed plain meaning no acidic food added last at least 5 years. If you add other things like tomatoes it cuts down the storage time.

Yes you do! Nothing t be frightened of, and you will have food for a life time with a little management. Read the directions and think about what they are saying. Common sense is golden, but not a short cut.

LOL...it kind of looked like ...let's say, Lorena Bobbitt Weenies in a jar. Was just thinking it might be good to can one like that, and sit in my front window with a sign that says, I'd think carefully...this is what happened to the last guy who tried to break in here. LOL!!!!!

Thank you. I found the pint and half jars fit them perfectly and I can fit the whole pack of 5 in the jar with no bends. Perfect! I have not opened any to taste yet. How does the texture compare to grilled brats?
@oldhippyhomesteaders
@oldhippyhomesteaders 6 лет назад
when I want some I put them on the grill for a few minutes for those grilled marks and the bbq flavor

I can pumpkin Puree. I don't make it as thick as Libby's. When I use the puree I add some of my pumpkin powder. I wouldn't have that extra one. My son would cook it and eat it. lol Usually my canned meats don't last no more than 2 years but as long as that seal is good, the product will stay canned much much longer than 5 to 8 years. That and IF Ball lids don't rust.

I chunk my squash and pumpkin a bit leery about pumpkin thanks for watching

I know some people are. I baked the pumpkin then scrape the meat out. Put it in a stock pot and use the stick blender to make it smooth. It's not as thick as Libby's but not real thin either. Enough so bubbles come up. Then I use pumpkin powder to thicken it for pies.

@oldhippyhomesteaders 6 лет назад
you can leave them in the freezer but this does save yourself time I usually throw them on the grill for about 2 minutes to warm them through and maybe a grill mark or 2 thanks for watching
