I love that you wear gloves when preparing your food! I've been canning for years and always have worn gloves. You've gotta do it right! Good video!

Well... the high temps of the pressure canner are going to kill any microscopic critters on your fingers anyways. I've been canning for 2 decades now and never once worn gloves, and I'm still here. 🤷‍♀️ It's just like in a hospital or tattoo shop; steam and high temps sterilize everything.

I LOVE home canned corned beef! There's nothing like the flavor! No comparison to the canned stuff you get in the store. I'm really hoping I'll find a great clearance sale after St Paddys day as it's VERY VERY expensive this year! I like doing up about 5 good sized flats every year!

I had just bought a couple packages from the store since it was on sale (it was limit of 2 or I would have gotten more). I'm planning on canning it up this weekend. That looks so good with the cabbage.

Do you ever purchase the point end? I’ve only cooked the flat end. That cabbage and beef looks scrumptious! I never tire of cabbage.

I think you have a glass top stove. How does that work for you with The AA canner 921? How much will the canner hold? I want an AA but, was afraid that it would crack my stove top. My stove can handler 50ls. Please tell me if you recommend a 931. Thank you very much! 😃

I use a 921 with a glass top with no problems. Been canning on it for 3 years. I do have a presto for a backup but need to break it out. My 921 holds 7 quarts.

I noticed your end result looks like it has a little bit of red at the top. Mine came out the same. First time canning corned beef. Im just trying to find out that the red liquid is normal and will be safe to eat. Love your easy videos.

I make homemade corned beef, and I'm wanting to can it. I see you raw packed yours; would it help with flavor to raw pack homemade corned beef with a few corns? Since canning tends to take some of the flavor out sometimes, I'm wondering if this would be a good idea. Or maybe grind up the corns and add it to the jar so there's not a chance of chomping on a mustard ball or pepper or something?

How does this method compare to storing in tallow? Which method has a longer shelf life? No refrigeration for this? Hardly any info out there about this.

With tallow it will have more fat actually

I followed your directions for canning my corned beef. However, the fluid level is only about 50-60% of the jar (that's all the juice the corned beef made). So 40-50% of the meat is not submerged. Good or bad?

As long as the seal is good, the meat is good. It does not need to be submerged. Every meat and brand has its own moisture content. Thanks for watching.

I'm thinking off investing in a pressure canner, like this. The skills our grandparents and great grandparents used to weather the great depression are being lost to time, I'm striving to relearn them. But I'm hesitant about edibility. Can someone reading this who's been canning for years please give me some reassurance. Thank you.

Do it!!!!! There is so much online instruction to teach you safe methods. But be warned….. it’s addictive.

But if you’re completely new to canning I would just stick to widemouth jars. It’s kind of a pain in the neck to go and make sure you have regular and widemouth but stick to one it’s no biggie. But no matter what DO IT. Shelf stable food is a blessing.🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

@@debradoo4448 thank you for the reply. I used part of my Christmas bonus to invest in an 'all American 1930' pressure canner. Performed a successful test run the other day. All I need now are the jars.

As long as the seal is good and smells good when opened...its good. They say 1-3 years but it can be mush longer.

Yeah its not corned beef idmf you dont use the spice packets. Then its just beef.

Those spices and salt are brined into the meat before purchasing. The packet is used for an additional boost of the flavors used in the initial brining process
