My oldest is 40. That's when I started canning baby food. I grow 80% of our food. Make sure you follow all rules for processing your food. Can be more dangerous for under a year old. Thanks for contacting me. I did hit your subscripe. Take care 🙂

@@gracewelch8618 ya he is 3 months now won't be eating it for a few months yet hence canning instead of freezing. I will want my grandbaby safe

Great video! Do you use the same pressure and time for the quarter pint jars?
@growingwithgracehomestead

@EllenPowers-d8r Yes, but make sure it runs of the spoon cause it thickens in the water bath. That way, the heat distributes evenly.

Could you use lemon instead of canning salt? Would it make a difference?
@growingwithgracehomestead

You could it would give it a little bit different of a taste. Which kind of sounds good, lol . You don't have to put the salt. From my understanding, lemons is not a substitute for salt in this case

do you need to add the salt

No you don't. Just enhances the flavor. I only use 1/4 teaspoon per quart. Make sure you use canning salt. Thanks for asking and good luck.
