Today we're showing you how we canned pasta sauce using our own farm fresh tomatoes!
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 Bushel Ripe Plum Tomatoes
5 Cloves Garlic (about 1 head)
2 Hot Peppers (we used jalepenos)
4 Green Bell Peppers
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Canning Salt
2 Cups Oil
1 tsp Basil
1/4 Cup Oregano
3 lbs. Onions
Half of an 111 oz can Tomato Paste
DIRECTIONS:
Blend together peppers, garlic, and onions. Add oil, simmer. Wash and cut tomatoes. Juice tomatoes. Juice the tomato pulp twice to get all; the juice out.
Add pepper mix to tomato juice, simmer. Add tomato paste to thicken, simmer.
Once the sauce is at your desired consistency, remove from stove. Pour into prepared canning jars. Screw lid on and put into canner to seal.
