@@AlexandrP20 a tank don't become the only thing that prevents your nation from getting conquered by other nations. What I'm saying is that putting all your eggs in one basket is foolish,an example of this would be the P1000 ratte,the nazis design it thinking it would be a war winning weapon,but realistically it's very expensive to build and it can be destroyed by a bomb large enough like the british tall boy. Which is why people now make normal sized tanks,not giant tanks like heavy objects,because a normal tank did the work,and don't cripple your economy once destroyed. An AT rocket is cheaper than a T90 but a decent screening force is capable of minimizing that threat,which is why militaries now use a combined arms tactic,not to mention the tactical advantages brought by a tank in battle against infantry,granted an infantry can destroy a tank,but it would be hard for infantry to do it. What I said before was just a comparison between an AT rocket and a tank in pure economic value,not accounting for tactical or strategic value.

I'm guessing they have "convenient to the plot" anti grav tech cause a orb that size and probably really really really heavy cause standing on like four legs or something is bonkers because of ground pressure. This is a reason why modern tanks don't go over a weight thresholds and why Germany ww2 designs failed.

A little bit late so let me explain, basically Baby Magnum use an Air cushion tech to move around and so IT doesn't touch the ground directly. Rush's Ohoho or Gatling 033 uses 2 technology at the same time, an old styled caterpillar track and cushions.

yeah, you kind of really had to suspend your disbelief with how mobile these objects are. but i still love this series because they really try to justify the combat role of these heavy objects. i feel like most other mecha just try to make some humanoid looking robot and then form fit their combat role for whatever reason. Heavy Object is a better mecha in that regards and its not even technically "mecha" precisely because theyre not going for anything remotely humanoid. these things are the ultimate form of survival onion, a simple yet effective world building

The series actually shown this things can survive a nuke and has AOE attacks powered by nuclear reactors.

The very first heavy object survived a Nuclear strike and is still operational enough to destroy the whole UN fleet. The 1st gen HOs later were designed to survive all known modern weaponry and are the true masters of the battlefield. Missiles became obsolete so long as it doesn't travel more than light speed due to advance laser and plasma AMS, shells and platings were much more developed, and pilot/battlecomputer engineering cspable of reacting to anything in hundredth of a second. The only reason why the MC was able to takedown HOs is because they are 2nd generation. Sacrificed generalization to be more specialized in a specific location.

The process of converting a normal human to elite is best done using children tho. Strengthening muscles and bones to withstand high G's, coupled with brain and eye surgeries will have the best result if introduced at an early age. This anime might be ecchi but its universe is one step closer to the methods of ONI of Halo's. Normal humans might be able to use Objects but fighting with it against a specialized elite? Nahh

nah they actually let a nobleman ride one of the newest machine and it exploded spectacularly from a stealthy attack by mach 25 missiles XD

but the premise of the story is exactly that, cold war and bigger gun diplomacy ran too long that object design became flawed and breakable by an engineer and some friends because the military yet to adopt anti-object guerilla warfare tactics

Well the anime first scene of the first Object was built by a small nation destroying a fleet and tanking a nuke after that everyone made their own and just decided to have duelsbfor territory. Also factor that a sci-fi economy would be better than RL economies that would allow funding these.

zchen27 from what I remember, they use an armour layout similar to an onion( layer upon layer of armour), also since it a big ball, it lacks flats sides so it harder to penetrate so the core system are more well protected

I wouldnt hit the heavy cannons lol- i would devastate their mining operations or whatever thr hell they are getting the ammo from. Would be easy as hell with a cannon laser bore system to squirrel holes through their territories- bypass the heavy cannons entirely

Also the sheer size of the manufacturing sites to build these would be the size of cities- perfectly targetable.

And dont say- "its all mostly underground" because again- thats mining a hole the size of a city, building the manufacturing infrastructure, gathering the materials- i mean come on! Really? The moment the first one of these heavy objects was built it wouldnt be possible to build more- i would hammer any country that even showed signs of similar development.

its coilgun/railgun/plasma so it probably only needs slug shells not explosives the gigantic size and mass of the shell explodes like a nuke with that muzzle speed.
