Perhaps the best video of this genre that I have seen. Great video quality, sound, and pacing. Almost feel like I am there. Am wondering what time of year this was and if mosquitos are an issue (I'm not from Fla.). Gorgeous campsites.
Thanks for the kind words. This trip was taken at the end of February. We were lucky to have a cold snap that came through and kept the mosquitoes to a minimum, but in warmer months the mosquitoes are definitely an issue. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather.
Yeah you could definitely do it in 3 days. I wanted to scout out all those sites anyways. Next time I would skip wekiva falls and just find my own spot further down the river, there were lots of nice spots on the bank down past Katie's landing.
+BillyAndersen The left side of the bank from King's Landing to the end of Wekiva is part of the Rock Springs Preserve and has hunts at certain times of the year. I got a hand-smack for camping there without a permit once and it was during hunting season. There's an awesome spot called Cozy Camp hidden on the right hand side about four miles from King's Landing. Check it out next time. Running water, fire pits, good firewood, etc., Great video sir, keep up the good work!
Thanks, I got the storage crates from an army surplus store, they're pretty great for storing camping gear and throwing in the back of the truck for waterproof storage when camping, I don't take them canoe camping anymore. The canoe is an old Coleman, slow and not very maneuverable but bombproof.
On this trip I brought those big green plastic boxes you can see in the canoe, so we just put the food in the boxes at night. Without those I would definitely hang your food if you camp at any of these sites because the raccoons are pretty aggressive.
