Replacement of the Canon 5D Mark III Top Assembly Piece. Link for 5D Mark II Top Panel Replacement: www.ifixit.com... Use as a guide, some parts are different.
Got away with it again! Thanks for keeping me company on the way. You even inspired me to put a piece of paper on my magnetic screw holder thingie to draw the camera on. :)
Lay it out left to right place screws in their spot then put the part overtop … no need to write anything down … I just needed this video to figure out where screws went … fixing a friends camera who took it half way apart lol
I changed my mode dial button (assembly) of my canon 5d mark iii and re-Assembled my camera but now it won't turn on. It sometimes blink a red light but thats it.. ir womt turn on.. any solution please? 😭
Hey Paul! I have a question. My 5D Mk IV fell from the seat of my truck onto the floor of my truck (about a foot drop) and now none of my buttons are responding. Do you have any ideas on what might be the problem? If I tilt my camera a certain way I get response only for a few seconds. I'm from Louisiana so no one down here is willing to take a look at it.
it could be that the flat cable connecting the front panel with the mobo is not making a good contact anymore (could explain why it works at certain angles)
Hey Paul, I would love some help. I need to take off the memory card door piece (the one that conveniently fell off at 32:00) to replace it. How many pieces do I need to take off to get access to that? (Front, bottom?)
NataleeHeartsYou16 hi Natalie, I can’t remember from memory but you may need to take off a couple of sections to get to it. Plan on taking off a little more than you think so you wasn’t be surprised.
Paul Ferradas thanks Paul! Is there an order in which to take them off? Do you know if you can take the bottom off without having to remove other pieces first?
Gee, a recently deceased friend had a machine like that and it gave error-20, he didn't send it to Canon and asked me to buy another unit. Before being admitted to the hospital (pancreatic cancer) he disassembled the faulty camera, afraid of his wife discovering his photographic equipment. Now I can't get anyone to reassemble the machine and quote the error-20 repair. Canon (assistance) refuses to take the product disassembled. If I had step-by-step instructions, I would reassemble it, but it is difficult! It's disheartening. I am from Brazil!
