Hi, Yes you have the dreaded B203 error. Well, give this a go, it works for me. I MUST WARN YOU... THIS COULD BE THE WARNING BELL OF DOOM FOR YOUR PRINTER.
YES, I’m sooo excited this worked for me the 1st time!! I replaced all the cartridges and did hard resets and the error codes stayed on my printer! I just followed your instructions and like a charm no error message. You are a printer saver!! Thank you!!!!
Didn't work for me the first time but I don't think I closed the lid quickly enough. The second time I did it, it worked like a charm. It was just like you said. The print head was parked up in the left. Can't thank you enough for this. this error has plagued me on and off for a long time now. I have spent a fortune replacing cartridges that probably didn't need replacing anyway. Thank you again.
March 7, 2024 your tip to fix is still working. Multiple failed attempts from 3 other RU-vid videos. Yours tip worked on first try. Greetings and a big thanks from San Diego , California
@@cartridgeworldcastlehill9518 June 28, 2024 B203 error came back. Unfortunately your fix did not work this time. I tried a dozen times. I think there is a code in the computer chip that makes up an error to force you into a new purchase 😂😂😂
Hi Jeff, This was exactly what I needed. Your instructions were clear and when I followed them the problem was fixed first time! You've saved me so much more effort than I thought was going to be needed! Very many thanks.
Hi Geoff Your tip still working as at January 2021. Have a canon printer and I had no intention of replacing it until I got the dreaded b203 error. Tried your fix and it worked first go. You are a brilliant an, Thank you very much!
Thanks - this worked a treat after half a dozen tries on my ~3 yr old MG 5650 (UK)! Patience and persistence was rewarded - and great to see what you're meant to do too with the video. Thanks again!
Thank you so much Jeff. My printer is a Canon Pixma MG7720 The printer head and cartridges were over on the right side. I moved them gently over to the middle of the front. Then I turned on the printer and closed the cover as soon as the cartridges and print head started to move. Like you said, it started to think about that in a couple of seconds. It made all kinds of little whirring sounds. Then, about two to three minutes later, the error was cleared and all was ok. You saved me over 100 dollars in lost ink (almost new cartridges), the cost of a new printer, and lots of time. I've run into other problems like this too with a Canon MX892 Printer. It's like the print head gets stuck in position that's a bit off and an alarm light turns on. Unfortunately with most printers you can't just diagnose the code and clear it with a nice little code clearing device similar to what many car mechanics use. The code "bricks" the printer. Yuk!! Thanks again for saving the day for many of us.
Jeff you are a legend. It worked for me on my MG5760. Not the first or second time and I actually turned it off completely and left it for about 5 minutes then turned it on and re did your suggestion and it worked perfectly. Way better than a trip to the repairers. Thak you
Yes this worked for my now doomed printer. I did have to do it a few times to finish getting my papers printed but it worked and that's the main thing. Thanks Jeff, much appreciated :)
When I opened the cover the print heads were parked left. I waited for them to move over to near centre then closed the cover. After much whirling and clunking the dreaded B203 error had disappeared and the printer was back to normal. Amazing! Thank you so much for for sharing this tip. You've saved me from buying a new printer. A plus point to you and a minus point to Canon...
@@cartridgeworldcastlehill9518 Same feeling her. Thanks so much. I don't know how many times I tried to replace cartridges, jammed the paper feeder on purpose, just to remove it and show the printer that there is no jam, reinstalled the entire software suite until I gave up and asked the internet. - I mean really, Canon should put a link to your video at the top of their maintenance page and say: Try this first.
I have been at this machine 4 hours I give up on it came back to it after watching your video I can't believe it was that simple to fix my machine thank you ever so much you are a lifesaver
This is genius! Pure genius! After watching your video the first time I failed to 'get it'. There followed two days of tearing my hair out. I did all the print head cleaning bit, over and over and over. Searched here, there and everywhere for a solution. Looked for a replacement printer. Then in pure desperation I somehow found myself back at your video. This time I really paid attention. This time I ditched the idea that it was too simple. I can't tell you how glad and grateful I am . So may I just say 'Thank you so much' , from the bottom of my heart.
Absolutely brilliant pal, thought I was buying a new printer for my daughter. This fixed the problem in 1 minute after hours of trying, can’t thank you enough. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks it worked for our printer , It took a couple of tries , and printer heads were stuck on left side so I munually moved them to the right side . Also took a couple of try on right side placement but enjoyed slamming the cover down . Side note : this printer is around 5 years old , it’s done it’s duty And has given us issues before but still a workhorse .
OMG JEFF!!! Absolute legend. We were to the point of chucking our printer out because of this issue and yet you’ve solved it in one hit. Thank you so much for posting this video!! It absolutely worked first time
Amazing. Watched your video one time and did the steps from memory the way you described and it worked first time. I was amazed to see the printer head had parked on the left side before the repair, and re parked itself back on the right. Thank you so much for this info.
Oh my God... I am so very grateful for this video from you! I hope my printer is now fixed as this seems to have worked for my B203 error. I was so stressed out as I thought I would have to buy a new printer and I just can't afford that expense right now.
@@cartridgeworldcastlehill9518 Well... sadly it was short-lived and the problem persisted... Of course it was right after I bought a dozen Ink cartridges... I had to buy a new printer and not the same ink so... quite a loss for me.
Thanks for the simple and effective advice. It worked the first time! After calling Canon and the store I purchased from, they would have thrown it away. Much appreciated!!!
Yay yay yay! Thank you Jeff for the awesome tip. We have a Canon MG6821 that to be fair, has served us well for years *and* survived a big move. So I was more inconvenienced than surprised to get such a fatal error message. Very happy that I thought to use the google to find your simple + effective fix. One less printer in the landfill -- for now, anyway!
thank you, I have had this error for a few weeks and couldn't even scan, we bought new ink and it still wouldn't work but was able to fix it today after watching this video. THANK YOU
Hey Jeff, my printer cartridge is parked on the right instead of the left already but it still has this same error. There is no paper jammed inside of it i already checked, and i tried to follow this technique on your video but it still has the same issue.
Tried it a couple of times but didn‘t really work. First it seemed like it does, but when I tried to print or copy a page it occurs again. Any tip for that? Sometimes the code switches to b204?! What does this mean 😭 i also cleaned everything and changed the ink..
I couldn’t believe that your very easy fix could solve the B203 error of my printer, but it works perfectly and took me less than 10 seconds to fix my issue. I tried all the complicated instructions on how to clean the printhead or how to reset the printer before, but non of these fixes helped. I’m glad that I tried you’re technique even I was very skeptical before because it seemed to simple to me, but it’s just brilliant! Thanks a lot!
Thank you thank you. I am dumb when it comes to computers. Didn’t know what I was going to do with this rotten printer, but low and behold your advice has fixed this problem! Again Thank you.
So did a quick google search as I had the B203 error and didn't know what to do. Either take to repair place or buy a new printer. Then came across your video, PERFECT fix! Thank you so much! Canon MG7720 printer
Awesome! Thank you. I must add that this technique by itself didn't quite work, as the error kept coming back. However it did allow me to get into the menu, and perform an auto alignment of the nozzles. That fixed it! Thanks again.
Thank you so much for sharing this!!!! It worked on the first try! I have tried so many other supposes fixes and was about ready to give up when I saw ur video! 🙌🏼❤️🙌🏼
Thank you soooooo much!!!! I was almost desperate and was about to buy new printer. Of all the videos I've watched on how to fix the b203 error, this was the simplest and most effective fix!!!! You are a genius!!! Thank you!!!
This worked. I had to try many attempts after changing all the toners, and I probably did the restart and close the top quickly as soon as the carriage moved at least 15 times. Hang in there and keep trying to send something to print. It worked! Thank you so much for this video. I was ready to throw the machine and new toners away.
worked second time of asking on a MG7520. Printer gathering dust since October 18. Thanks so much. I will donate to my local palliative care hospice as a gesture of thanks. Greetings from Montreal.
Mine was stuck for years, i tried out your method just now because I needed the scanner and my newer printer is at the repair shop, and it worked! Your method is a bit unorthodox i must say but it sure does the job, thank you so much!
Worked like a charm... however I had to do a head cleaning or the message would pop up again. Jeff's solution gave me access to the menu that was unavailable otherwise, thus allowing me to go about the cleaning. Thanks a lot!
Hi, thanks a lot Jeff. Seemed to have worked also for me. Had to repeat it a few times. This was triggered by an empty cartridge which was not changed in time. 👍
This worked for me as well!!! The key step was closing the top of the printer when the print heads started to move on its own. That's when it started cogitating. I did also replace three empty/low ink cartridges. The first successful printing after this error took a few minutes to start as well - must be more cogitating.
So happy i checked RU-vid for a solution before buying a new canon. I suddenly got the error B203 and by using this trick a few times its gone, for now! Thank you! :D
I tried this fix maybe 5 times with no success. By the end of the 5th time, the printer actually shut right down and wouldn't turn back on. I unplugged it for a few mins and tried this trick again, and it worked! Thank you so much!!
I had just changed a cyan colour when I got the message B203 error fix. Did as you suggested even though my cartridge was not along at the left side. Whatever it was, your suggestion fixed the problem on my MG6851. A big THANK YOU. Betty
Thank you so much. Worked the first time. It was lodged all the way to the left. Interestingly I had called canon and they suggested me to go to OPM copiers service center in Gladesville. When I called those guys up, they said I have to book it in and it would cost me 55 bucks to just book it in. That would cover 15 mins of inspection time as well. If the printer is fixed by then, then great otherwise it would cost me further by the hour.
omg thank you so much, it's Sunday, I need to print something for work tomorrow and I wasn't going to have time to call customer service tomorrow morning.
Thanks Jeff. The B203 error meant I could not access the printer menu and tried a similar opening of the cartridge cover but had the printer on which did not work. Your turning the power on only after the cover is open and shutting the cover once the printer head moves worked to allow me to test printing but would not print black. I was able to go into the Maintenance menu and do three printer head Cleans plus a Deep Clean to be able to print black text.
Followed this and it was a great start but.... bottom line I bought a new printer head from Ebay for $25 and away it went. Watching this pointed me in the right direction for a permanent fix.
Your video greatly helped to erase B203 error from printer. I tried resetting the printer but failed to resolve the error. My printer is now working. Thanks
