I loved this review / tutorial, I shoot digital but I just got this camera to start playing with film too, can’t wait to test it and even more after watching your video!
Great video Peter hope you are doing well despite the times. Always enjoy your videos. Managed to develop a 40 year 3M colour film in black and white this morning to pass the time. Came out rather well !
Erland -- Thanks for Kind Words -- My WIFE, DAUGHTER and SON went o a 'Day Trip' from Stansted Airport to NORWAY couple of years ago - the TRAIN from Airport was wonderful and clean but the PRICES of even a Mc Donalds were shocking for them !
Think of these cameras as a compact with a mirror, and you won't be disappointed. It probably has a couple more mirrors instead of a prism, so the aperture stop down button will show "through a glass, darkly". Another annoying aspect is Canon rarely put controls in the same place twice, so there's little continuity between models. Digital cameras have only recently mastered continuous autofocus, best not to expect too much of an 18 year old film camera. Negatives apart, entry level SLRs of the late nineties/ noughties were quite sophisticated, and much better value than cult compact cameras of the same era. Pleased to see you haven't succumbed to anything nasty and are still posting, Peter.
YES --- SO FAR SO GOOD !!! Even my Oncologist gave me a PHONE Clinic ( which saved me over 40 miles in Diesel in my Car going to Southend Hospital) -- I have Chemo 4 on Friday ---
@@theoldfilmbloke I have family undergoing chemo presently, so thoughts are with you. Good for the Onc doing you by phone, less time spent in hospital the better.
i have that same lens 75-300 III. Many people complain about bad image quality with it, but my copy is very sharp, great. Its one of the cheapest zooms, but i cant complain. Even at 300 it still decent sharp
Toby -- I did not know you could get a Pentax K lens adapter for it ! I suppose the only thing is to remember is that all the 'Canon' functions will not works such as 'Auto-Focus' but SOME will such as 'AV' Aperture Priority Exposure mode perhaps and you will have to use 'Manual Aperture Stop Down'
hope you are going well Peter, ...Best you send some sun back to Australia...it's a bit nippy here at the mo. I tell you what for the money they go for EOS go for cheap money and don't feel like any weight to em from a totally manual user point of view and they do the job to the standard you would expect, I recently sent a 3000fn to Roger (Shootfilmlikeaboss) as I got one for myself and like I say cheap as chips (from Southend seafront 🙂) kindest regards Andy
Bugger Peter, that is not good news old mate, it does take a fair bit of time out of your day getting on dialysis, you might be able to get it set up for home if the NHS does that. My Ex was on dialysis due to autoimmune desease but was lucky to score a kidney some years back, there are a few different ways to dialise so hopefully they come up with something that suits you best. That is not cracking news old mate, but I am sure a bloke of your standing will take it in your stride. Have you done any research online about it? Being informed may help (maybe a task for your lovely daughter) Fingers crossed that you go ok on it Peter. Kind Regards Andy (Western Australia)
