this is extremely helpful! I broke my mom's camera while making a stop-motion and this video was of extreme help, now i wont have to buy a new part for $75. thank you very much ( :
@@CamerasLensesEtc I could fix my 5D Mark III thanks to you :-). Unfortunately I broke a little plastic bit from the casing, but that plastic doesn't age well . . .
I just got the mark ii for a cheap price and discovered that on pin on either side of the CF reader are bent. Will this guide help me with the mark ii reader? Many other guides are just sped up timelapses of the repair and do not offer any type of vocal instruction that I can clearly understand.
I would try to bend it back using a small tweezers without disassembling the camera. If that is not possible, then you can use my videos about disassembling and assembling a Canon 5D II. I have one about repairing the miniUSB connector (removing the main PCB), then you have to remove the shield of the memory card reader, and you have access to the pins.
what if a pin is broken and needs to be replaced? do you have a link for the part to replace the whole thing? I can only find just the part with the pins. Looks like I need to solder it"?
Search for "canon cf card reder". If you would like to replace the whole CF card reader, then you have to use a heatgun to do it. Alternative nr.1: buy a CF card reader with the flex cable, there is one for sale for 65USD on ebay currently, but search for it on aliexpress, maybe it is cheaper there. alternative nr2: buy a non-working 5D, and swap the two CF card readers.
Hmmm, I just need to replace the CF door assembly. Does the entire camera need to come apart for that? You don't take it off until 13 minutes into the video.
Hi Man I have damage one of the flat cables the one on the top of the camera, Doesn’t have a name? And that was it possible to get a replacement? Thanks
