hey! Nice you've done a full teardown...I've dropped my M50 and had a Quick-Release-Plate mounted, the Cam is completely fine but the bottem where the 1/4 threadding is located got broke. I was asking myself if you can remove that part of housing and the threaded part without getting to the electrical core components. Is the threaded anchor point fixed to everything or removable behind the housing?
Hello. If I understand the problem correctly, you need to remove the part that falls on the table on 1:56? It removable behind the housing. You need to try operations from 0:00 to 0:34. Be careful with the flex cable on 0:33 (it's easy to rip) Then try from 1:30 to 1:57. Threaded anchor holds one screw. That's it
Hi, love the vid! My touchscreen is not working. Is there anything I cld do or open up and tighten to maybe fix this? Cld the wiring be affected in this case?
I have had the same issue my screen has gone blank but responds (beeps) when you touch the screen. I have checked the settings through the view finder and it doesn’t appear to be the main sensor problem people speak of. The screen just remains blank but still beeps. Any advise would be great!
The first thing to look out for is the microswitch of the battery door cover. Then you need to check the fuses and whether power is supplied to the board. Remember without tools and minimal skills it is better not to try to repair the camera
Thanks for this, the micro hdmi port on my m50 is not functioning properly, tried finding the part online and can't find it...can you link me to where I can buy that part to replace on my camera?
Is there any manuals showing exploded views of the M50. Might need to repair one and always find it more useful looking over exploded views before hand to get an idea of whats involved. This video however is very handy :)
Hi Pavel, I would like to know if that white hexagonal thing on m50's main board is that the internal battery? If so, do you have any idea what kind of a battery it is? Thanks
Hello. Yes, it is the battery. UT614 button cell. 6.8mm x 1.4 mm 3v. You can try to find analogs: MS614S or another 614 battery Panasonic ML-614 battery works well, for example
Does that battery take the surge in the event it was connected to a power source greater then the recommended voltage or is the PCB need to be replaced ?
Hello, I have an issue were nothing powers on, no sign of life at all but I can hear like a hisssing noise, it's like a capacitor has failed and is venting. I noticed there was a capacitor in the front of the camera, would replacing this potentially fix the issue?
Hey Pavel I was taking some photos with my M50 and all of a sudden it turned off ,ever since that it hasnt turned on, but sometimes when I turn it on or off the led light turns really fast. It also makes a weird clicking noise when I turn the switch to on.And the aperture blades move around too when its on. Besides tha there's no sign of life . Do you have a clue on what the problem could be? Thanks.
Hey Pavel, thank you for your video! I opened my m50 and the battery door switch was missing. I soldered it, but then i realized that the capacitor just to the right is missing too. Do you have any idea what its capacity is? Or do you know where I can find out?
Hello. You can find it on Ebay or Aliexpress for example alii.pub/67yrlp Here are some tips for replacing the shutter: You need to remove the matrix. It is held in place by three screws. On each screw you need to make marks and count the number of revolutions when unscrewing. Then change the shutter. There should be no problem here. Now the most important step is to put the matrix back in place. how many turns were there when unscrewing the screws? The same amount is needed when tightening the screw. The marks on the screws should line up. It is important!
@@pavelantoniadi8339 oh thank you for your reply my friend!!! Maybe you can do a video on how to reinstall it sometime? I prayed durinf the whole process and Holy Spirit gave me insight and helped me figure out how to take it apart and instal a new one! (There were no videos or instructions anywhere, so I was sooo thankful for this 🙌🏿). I have light now, but no picture. Just a white screen. The camera still records, and my old screen had lines through it, so I was pretty sure it was the screen that was broke. Do you know what could be the problem? Maybe I installed something wrong??? One of the ribbons?
Hello. I faced the same problem once. If the display is not broken, most likely the connector 0:40 does not fit snugly. Try to push it. If you have a screwdriver and a little experience you can solve it at home. but be careful with the plume that comes out 0:33. Good luck
@@pavelantoniadi8339 i opened the m50, the cable looked okay, I unplugged it and plugged it back and now the display works again :-) do you habe paypal? i send you a coffee.
I had a video but I can't find it. I will try to describe in detail: the camera needs to be disassembled as in the video. After that, you need to remove the matrix. Now assemble the camera.
Yikes! I came here to learn how to change the clock battery (the date/time keeps needing to be reset each time I turn on the camera), but after seeing this I think I'll just reset the time each time I power on.
Hi Pavel I dropped my M50 and after that the lcd is not working but I can view in the viewfinder it works fine and also recording is good. Can you suggest something please.
Hello. Same problem has already been discussed in the comments. Here's what can help you, it helped another user: If the display is not broken, most likely the connector 0:40 does not fit snugly. Try to push it. If you have a screwdriver and a little experience you can solve it at home. but be careful with the plume that comes out 0:33. Good luck
I'm trying to get my screen to work again. It fell on a carpeted floor of all things and now the screen doesnt work at all. I am guessing I dislodged a connector. Does that sound feasible and do i have to tear the camera down all the way to access the connectors to plug them back in?
Hi, my viewfinder glass is cracked. Any chance you remember if that piece comes with a glass or if the glass is attached to the electronic viewfinder unit? 2:44
Did you figure out how to remove the actual LCD panel from inside the housing? I have the screen removed to try and replace mine as iit's broken, but it looks as if the glass has to be removed to remove the LCd panel.
I think I got some dirt under the off/on switch and it is really stiff to toggle. I had rock dust on my wet hands when trying to record the slicing of some stones. Do you know how to remove the off/on so I can clean it?
Well. Yes it is possible but you will have to remove the top of the camera(operations from the beginning of the video to 2:54). Then you need to remove the switch. This is a complex operation that requires caution. You have to work with small details. but nothing is impossible
Hey, My M50 resets the date and time everytime it's battery is taken out and I think that's caused by the dead cmos battery inside. Is there any way I can replace it?
Please help 🙏 I dropped my m50 and the audio port only works when I hold an audio jack from my external mic in place. Once I let go, it goes back to the internal mic and it's impossible to use the external mic. I've tried using other mics and it am certain it's the m50s audio port. I noticed you pulled the audio port side last, but wanted to know if you can fix this problem without disassembling everything? Thank you and any response is greatly appreciated!
Hello. You will have to disassemble the camera until 3:35 to remove the audio port. Maybe it will be possible to do it earlier, I do not remember such nuances. Anyway you need to remove the audio port and solder the contacts or replace it completely
My M50 stopped working because the micro switch that gets activated when the battery door is closed is broken, that little black lever that is sticking out under the SD card slot @ 5:04. I don't know if it can be replaced, and if so is there an easier way to get to it or do I have to do what you've done and take the whole camera apart. Thanks.
I think it can be replaced. But the camera will have to be disassembled at least until this moment 3:34. Otherwise you won't get to him. But you have another option if you know how to solder. Just remove the switch and the camera will turn on, even with the battery cover open. You make it at your own risk
@@seewhatisaw well did you remove the switch completely or not? The switch is normally closed when door is open. You can check this with a multimeter. maybe the problem is not in the switch but deeper
my usb-port stopped working, so i cant use it as a webcam anymore. If i apply some force to the usb, it still kinda works and the pins in the port look fine. Should i try to resolder it?
Hello. After getting wet, you need to disassemble and dry the camera as soon as possible. 4 months is a lot. the worst has already happened. Without disassembly, not sure of the result. but most likely it will have to be sold for parts
@@pavelantoniadi8339 thanks. By the way, where can i find the same tools you used in the video. Maybe I'll try to save it myself... maybe not lol but i would like to at least open it up just to see.
So interested video! My M50 dropped on the floor and the display is black and shows nothing and the the viewfinder sensor is out of adjustment and not working properly, the expert told me that the motherboard is fine but the display is dead so I bought a new one and still the same thing not working, so I searched and found an information that it coud be the graphic chipset is dead, so I ask what could be the problem related to the display ?? Thank you.
my m50 doesn't turn at all no matter what i did. new battery swap, took of lens and battery overnight, switch out mmc, doesn't do anything. do you have any idea what could be the problem? yes the camera does fell on the floor before this but really super light fall and i haven't had any issue since. up until one day it just started to show the sign. sometimes ok sometimes not then totally dead.
@@pavelantoniadi8339 i did some few methods and it works but the same problem keeps happening again whenever i left the battery inside the camera for a moment. In your video at 1:57 is that some kind of internal battery or capacitor(blue)? i read in a forum that it might had to do something with it and is it replaceable?
@@nikfizri what methods have helped you? This is flash capacitor at 1:57. I think it can be changed. You need to look at the parameters on his body and buy the same. But you need to know how to work with capacitors! be careful
@@pavelantoniadi8339 the one method that works is take off the battery and sd card, set the mode dial to P, switch it on and press the shutter button for at least 15 seconds then switch it off, put the battery and sd card and switch on and walla, its alive. But if i switch it off and leave it for few minutes then try to switch it on again, it completely dead again and the method wouldn’t work again unless I took off the lens and battery, left it overnight and try again day after. It may or may not work and yeah, it took me more than a week to somehow figure it out.
Please help ,The menu button on my M50 is not responding, after the camera got soaked with water .. i have be told i have to replace the motherboard that controls that section . Is it possible to buy the circuit board from Ali express and replace the faulty one Thanks
Hello. Yes you can buy it on ali: alii.pub/5wo003 But first, I recommend disassembling the camera and examining this board. Wash with isopropyl alcohol. It might work
Hi, My M50 got clock memory issue, when the battery is out about 3-5 mins, the date will be lost , which parts on camera is for memory clock? Is the capacitor shows on video 2:00 for memory clock? thanks
Hello. To remove the eyecup, pull it towards you and slightly up (you need to make an effort). But you can't take eyecup off without disassembling camera. The screw holds it.
Hi, I'm facing issue in creating a wifi connection with my mobile, actually M50 gets stuck while creating the SSID, and I have to turn OFF the camera and turn back ON to use it for shooting images. But wifi connection isn't getting established, please can you suggest something.
