The Canon ImageClass MF644cdw Multi Function Machine is capable of performing Duplex (two sided) Scans for documents fed through its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). This will NOT work for documents placed on the platen glass.
The default setting for a new MF644cdw is for the Duplex Scanning to be turned off, making it a Single Sided Document Scanner through the ADF. In our case, many of the documents I want to Scan-To-Email, or Scan-To-File, are two sided, and I wanted to perform a single pass per page to get both sides scanned and sent to its email or target file location at the same time, and in a single file containing all scanned images from both sides of the pages.
The setup to have the MF644cdw perform Duplex Scanning by default is a little bit challenging to figure out. At least it was for me. So, once I did find how to do it I decided to share the knowledge.
There are, however, times when I want to do a Single Side Scan-To-File or Scan-To-Email. There is a way to over-ride the Duplex Scan for either function. That is shown in a different video, which is at the following web location:
