Yes Ms Amber Rose. I agree with the block cat. Your tutorial was entertaining and informative. I tried several times; actually many times over the past few days to get my network to recognize the printer. I read your instructions. And re-read them because that’s how I roll lol. I got it to work. When you said to re-start the printer that was magic! I have a question about the 3 amber lights that started blinking. 1 was a triangle with what might HAPPEN have been a lightning bolt, one that says CL and one that says BK. Do you or someone here know what those mean? 😅
Thanks so much for the clear instructions. I, like you, was tearing my hair out trying to get my PC to sync with my MG3660. I had no idea that there was an app for my phone to link it all. (Instructions from Canon on how to use the buttons on the printer would have been nice). Thank again
To connect your printer to WIFI , Press and hold Wireless button , POWER button will start flashing , press BLACK button once then press Wireless button once , Power button will stop flashing then Wireless will start flashing . Go to your router and press the WPS button for 5 seconds , come back to your printer and will see the power and wireless buttons both are flashing , once they stop flashing and both of them are solid , that's it your printer is ready to connect to your laptop , from your laptop go to Printers & Scanners then add printer and you should see the model of your printer in the device list just add it and set as default .
@@Fishingtuts This printer has a wireless capabilities and you should have a button on top that says wireless , if you dont see it then connect the printer cable directly to your laptop/computer (plug and play) and windows should connect it automatically, you should see a notification the printer is connected and ready to use.

Solved!! May 2023. I have solved setting up the canon MG3620 Wi-Fi using an iPhone 14 with the canon inkjet print app. I recently moved and had to reset the Wi-Fi and everything I found online would not help, so here’s what I did. Download the canon print inkjet app on the iPhone. Turn on your printer. On the printer press the Wi-Fi button for four seconds, then press the stop button, then press the Wi-Fi button again it should blink, blue and fast. Connect your iPhone Wi-Fi to the canon printer option (it might say not connected but it’ll work still). Open the canon app on your phone to set up a printer then choose can’t find printer. When the Wi-Fi list of options screen eventually shows choose “direct connect” at the very bottom, NOT your usual home Wi-Fi network. It should automatically work from here.
Okay so I am one of the many people who bought this printer during the start of the pandemic for school. I used the manual that came in the box to set it up but I changed my wifi recently so now I'm having trouble connecting to the printer. Here's what you do: follow the app BUT the app tells you to connect to ij_cannon_## whatever. You do that but you essentially in the end want it to be so that your printer and your phone are connected to the same wifi! So you don't "forget" your current wifi network (example, I use optimum and my wifi name is Chelsea so I LEAVE MY PHONE CONNECTED TO CHELSEA). You just click ij_cannon_## because your wifi needs to find your phone but after that moment, make sure it stays connected to your original wifi that you always use. That's the step that took me the longest and it gets your printer to connect to a REAL wifi network that you pay for with optimum, verizon, etc. From this, you should be able to connect the printer to any device connected to your wifi. So I use my printer for my computer documents so for mac i go to settings > printers & scanners > + > "Printer Name" > Add. That's how you do it. I hope it saves everyone the 45 minutes that I lost!

I have the same issue. The printer does not have a screen like my last one and I can't for the life of me figure out how to connect it to Wifi. And no clear instructions online.

Pretty sure I figured it out. Here are the steps after you insert the disc into your pc/MAC. and follow steps. This pertains to those whose wifi is password locked. Also if your router is set up to block new devices then make sure you unblock the printer after the steps below or it'll fail to find it on your network. 1. HOLD WIFI BUTTON ON PRINTER UNTIL THE POWER BUTTON LIGHT FLASHES. 2. PRESS THE COLOR BUTTON THEN PRESS THE WIFI BUTTON AND THE WIFI BUTTON WILL FLASH. 3. ON YOUR ROUTER PRESS THE WPS BUTTON TO ALLOW ROUTER TO CONNECT TO INTERNET. your printer should be on your network now. Now continue with the steps on screen.
The whole thing drives me INSANE! why does it have to be so complicated , why do we have to download apps, why can't we just plug the thing in and the instuctions appear on the printer's contriol panel, I have been close to tears trying to get my wireless printer to work , sick of doiing endless RU-vid and goggle searches. Imagine if cookers and washing machines were so difficult to set up

Help please I have a Mg3520, the only lights that are on is the pier and the light for the paper. I’ve tried restarting (from RU-vid videos) I’ve tried holding down the WiFi sign & still no blue or blinking light. I’m tired of trying now, no luck in connecting this printer 🖨
My blue light just stays blue when I press it down and the button opposite does not flash at all or the power no matter how long I hold WI FI button down.I tried switching it off and it just does exactly the same.
Press and hold the wifi button and watch the power light... It'll blink after that release the wifi button you're pressing and press the color button. The wifi button will start blinking then you can you use the Canon app to connect both your router and the printer... You're good to go .
Yeah I'm having the same problem. Watched both power and Wifi button and nothing. Pressed it down for 2 minutes...nothing. Tried it at least 10 times and even had wife watch to make sure it wasn't just me going crazy. I don't have time to deal with petty crap like this so back this POS goes
OK what if you have to set up the printer with a new router You follow the steps you find the printers name in a Wi-Fi set up but the software says you’re not connected to Wi-Fi how to fix
just had to set it up again today - (new wifi) - if you are reconnecting, make sure to delete the printer your trying to connect on the app and then start the connecting process :)
Okay! That maybe the issue I'm facing. I have new wifi and I can't connect. The setup the first time was pretty easy. Now I need to figure out how to delete old wifi.

hello! I recently had to change wifi - in the app, make sure you delete. your printer and start the set up fresh again - but make sure your phone is connected to the wifi! then just simply follow the directions the app gives :)
I installed the Canon Print Selphy app, but when I opened it up, it doesn't give me the direction to "Add a Printer". To find my printer it asks for the series number beginning with G, GX, TR or TX that's it. But I have a MG3620. I have tried 5 times to get the printer online but cannot find a way to do it. HELP!

Unfortunately you fail to address what to do when you turn it on and the Wifi blue light fails to flash (which is 90% of the time). Without the flashing blue WIFI light your instructions are useless. I do however thank you for taking the time and trying to help.
I have followed everything to the letter, but no matter what, it does not appear on the Register Printer screen. It easily went through the process of connecting to my WiFi, but all of a sudden, it does not detect my printer on this screen. This is the worst printer ever.
The only way I could set it up is through the app.. Do you have a smart phone? At first it did not connect to my laptop through Wi-Fi. But after I connected the printer to Wi-Fi and restarted my computer I was able to connect it. It prints from anything that is also connected to the Wi-Fi.
I just moved and I unplugged this printer and moved it to my new apartment. I connected my laptop, iPad and iPhone to the new network (router is working fine-freshly installed) and now I can’t get the printer to print. The blue wifi button is lit up like it was before my move, and all my devices are connected to the network but my laptop won’t pick up the printer. I am unable to print and I suspect the printer is not reconnecting to my devices but I’ve tried trouble shooting and nothing is working. I had this issue before when I moved and I bought a new printer, but I can’t afford to do that again. Why is this happening? It was working fine and was able to print from laptop, iPad and iPhone before the move and now it just has a yellow symbol with an exclamation point showing error but it doesn’t tell me what the error is specifically.

There’s nowhere on the printer to do this like on a cellphone, tablet or laptop you go to settings, but HOW do you do this with a printer? People just assume everyone knows this but I don’t and I need help please. How do you connect your printer with your new wifi?
Useless the app doesn’t even show the model MG and when I put it to search doesn’t find it then send me to read the absolutely useless and confusing manual! i just bought this printer and I’m about to return it. The app you are showing is not the same and I scan the code that comes with the printer it’s absolutely useless and doesn’t show in the app like you are showing here.. so mad!
Unfortunately this was no help. I see this is 3 years ago. They must have changed something. I've watched several videos and none help. I should have done my research. Buying a printer that worked easily 3 years ago is almost a given to be a problem now. Things change and companies like Canon don't keep up. The manual is clearly out of date both for Chrome and Android. Buyer beware!
you wouldn't believe how much time I spent before I found that there was an app with instructions! Once you have the destination, the journey is very easy :)
I would rather have a root canal done than waste an entire Saturday trying to set this up. My legs are shaking 👹👺 Canon sucks! Even if someone sets this up for me Canon still sucks!!!!!!
this literally didnt help anything. you said the app will walk your thru synching the printer to your wifi/ etc so what was the point of this video? waste of time.
My MG3620 did come with an instruction sheet that did NOT match the firmware. The sequence that got mine on the WiFi was as follows: Power on, Stop WiFi, wait for power button to flash, Color WiFi (again) followed perhaps by Color. Using the app on one iPhone finally initialized the printer, another iPhone failed. Simply add the printer to a PC using the Printers feature, no app required. Why are all the instructions so horribly wrong? Setup also failed to state that ink goes in the compartment on the right, facing the unit. Paper is fed from the bottom so pull out the flimsy plastic paper holders carefully. Printed material comes out the top. The unit will duplex print, but use good paper as bleed through is annoying. Scan from an iPhone to create excellent PDF files, suitable for emailing to a work account for printing at an institutional print location.
