Unless you have more money than sense, why would anyone change system just because of a new model when current cameras (any camera from the last 10 years) have so little difference in them?

I used to shoot Sony A7 it was a fabulous camera, the thing about canon shooter going back to Sony we have way too much invested in glass and bodies over the last 24 + years! Sony Nikon Canon all amazing!

If you’re bad a taking photos it doesn’t matter what brand you use lol. Every camera company now a days is so good it doesn’t even matter.

Plain wrong. It highly depends on what exactly one is doing. For what I am doing, specifically Canon has very little to offer - no combo of compact full frame body with IBIS, BSI sensor, small lenses and affordable price. In fact, the smallest bright standard zoom on the market is available only for L and E mounts, so yeah. I tried Canon and realized I become not even bad at taking photos, I got zero interest in going out with overpriced hulk size of a camera. Also the sensor of any R-series leaves a lot to be desired, and this is justified by Photons to Photos measurements.

I agree with the R6 Mark ll it is a sweet camera, I bought the R7 first love this camera too can’t wait for the R5 Mark ll thank you for your input!

I remember nearly 2 years ago when the R5 II was on the verge of being released... and also this time last year the R5 II was also supposed to be released within 1 month too. LOL. Honestly the only thing I wish the R6 II had was 4K 120, and maybe Clog 2 . The 24 MP is great and simple upscaling results in better looking/sharper images than I could get with the R5 at 45 MP (did lots of comparisons with the best Canon lenses). Sure I could upscale the R5 images too, but 45 MP can be printed at any size.

I agree! If they added clog2 on the r6ii that would be awesome. Even 6k raw lite internally would be awesome.

The rumor channels actually piss me off at the moment. They are like hysterical toddlers running around in circles. And they clearly are more qualified as engineers compared to those lucky morons at Canon. I stand behind the technical decisions Canon has made over decades. You remember? When all those technical experts crucified Canon for sticking with CMOS sensors when Nikon and the other sensible brands had CCD. And what happened? We all use CMOS today because it is more affordable and the performance can be made pretty damn good. Many other examples if you think about it. Stacked sensors and global shutters I think are the same horse shit. The kind of solution you arrive at if you have the imagination of grey paint. I am waiting for the official announcement. Because hopefully the R5 current model will be finally within my price range. And I will be so happy to know that I saw the release of the R1 before I die of old age...

lol. Oh, I still go back and fourth in my driveway. What you were seeing was the Elgato wave xlr and next to that is the elgato stream deck. I’ve been giving elgato my money lately. You probably want to hear more about that setup, right?

I'm intrigued as to why you feel CLog2 would make you want to spend that much money on a camera if you're happy with the resolution of your R6ii. Unless you know something else about the sensor that you're not telling us here then it is unlikely that the R5ii will have DGO or that the BSI CMOS will have enough DR to max out CLog3 which means if you shoot on Clog2 you'll have no more dynamic range than CL3 but spend a lot more time in post de-noising and cleaning up the shadows for an image that's no better. Why would that 'seal' it for you? R5C doesn't need it and C70 looks better in CLog3 99% of the time.

Resolution of and grading on my R6 II is great! Having a little more dynamic range in the highlights when it comes to interior shoots would be nice. That all being said I have been tempted to pick up a R5c for more video centric since it has come down quite a bit in price, but the R6 II has been and will continue to be my go to for real estate photos and video.

I can't see Sony users switching especially portrait photographers who are druelling over the new A series with a global shutter. I'm sticking now with the EOS R. I just don't have the money to shell out thousands for a body anymore and I'm still using all my EF glass. I don't have one RF lens presently and have no plans in the near future.

The EF glass is still awesome! It's easier for people to stick with their camera manufacturer and just invest in glass. I do love new bodies, but it does have to bring value to my business where its saving me time or bringing in more clients.

I will purchase the upcoming Canon R5 mkii if it has HQ 4K60 over ssmpled-not line skipped or cropped. I prefer the look of 4K60 when shooting regular video. I have no interest in slow motion video acquisition. Fingers crossed…🤞

Recording limits went away with the R7 and R6 II, so the R5 II won’t have a recording limit.

Canon is becoming the new Nikon in terms of not releasing new tech. One thing they could do is allow HDMI output, screen usage, and recording to card at the same time AND a full sized HDMI input.

Due to the constrained dimensions and optical limitations of the Sony mount, it is unfeasible to produce a high-speed 35mm 1.2 lens for the Sony system. The limited dimensions of the mount are unable to accommodate the requisite optics for exceptionally rapid wide-angle lenses. It is quite probable that there will be a substantial shift of consumers from Sony to Canon and Nikon in the near future. This is because both Canon and Nikon have mounts that can support an extensive range of optical designs.

It's a pass for me unless it has the multi axis tilt and flip screen like the new Sony's and I'm also going to need the following: Variable Shutter, BSI Stacked Sensor & no overheating. A plus would also be Full Size HDMI. Otherwise there no reason to switch from the Sony A1 which has what I need from years ago..

That would ring the bell for many people. I could be wrong, but the latest leak that came out this week before the announcement the end of this month is that it will be stacked sensor and offer flip/multi position LCD like the new sonys. We will just have to wait and see if that is true or not.
