Great video demonstration. I'm buying the t5i and the 40mm pancake lens for video (I do have a canon 60d also, but the auto focus when filming video .. is a lifesaver.

My T3i was stolen in NYC last Friday, and I'm looking for a replacement. I think I will go with this one! :)

How can you compare this to the Nikon D5200? I'm really having a hard time contemplating wether or not to get one. I'll be doing pictures AND video as well. Just checked both of the camera but I find the grip of the Canon's more comfortable.

Did you even watch the video? He did mention STM lenses and auto-focus.

I am going to buy this camera for three main reasons, 1. the canon lenses i am going to buy function for all the canon brand of dslr and its accesories and the lens itselves are cheaper than nikon, 2. it has touchscreen so i can tech my family to use it and i can use it easily too and 3. Has great quality for video.

I still love my T2i

According to snapsort /DXOMark, the T2i's overall image quality is slightly better than the T3i's and around 10% better overall image quality than the T4i's. My eyes agree & that's not an upgrade to me. They're all good cameras. The T3i is perhaps a bit warmer & less contrasty than the T2i & the swivel lcd would be nice for video in particular. But whether I'm shooting video or photos, image quality is the most important thing to me. So, of the 3, that makes the T2i the best pick for me.

Learn how to hold a camera properly. I just ordered a T3i kit (18-55mm) for $650, the only part it's truly missing out on is the added cross-type focus points from the 60D. The touch screen makes a minimal difference in efficiency. I was surprised that you all failed to mention the auto-focus and silent motor lenses for video, though there is much to be desired. According to BestBuy, the T4i's retail price is $950 - though they have it on sale for $900. Is the $250 truly justified? Not for me.
