I found you talking about your video when I was searching 2peas for info n the Selphy. Thanks for your helpful review. I asked for it for Mothers Day. I plan to use it for Project. Life pics taken on my iPhone. I have 6 grandkids and want to do some PL pages. SU has recently gotten into the PL market and I can't wait show my customers my pages! Thanks so much for showing how you did the two 3 by 4 pics on the same 4x6!
I have to say you did an awesome job with this video. I've had one of these in my Amazon cart for several days now and I think I'm ready to hit the submit button. I really wanted to see what it could do and you did a great job at showing that. I'm a Stampin'Up! demo and we just recently started to carry Project Life so I think this will be great. Love how you can print 2 different photos on one sheet. I've always hated the fact that when I scrapbook I end up triming so much of the photo off because it's not really important. Thanks again!
A tip: if you connect the printer to your home wifi, you can print from your phone without directly connecting it to the printer, so long as both your phone and the printer is connected to your home network
Great video for the Selphy. One tip, why don't you use folders on your iPhone? Group all photo apps together. All games together. Etc. It make it easy to find stuff on your phone
that was a very good review thankyou very much for that. i especially like that you added in the littel dos and donts. i was wondering about this little gimmicky type printer and now am going to purchase one thanks to this review.
Its so expensive to print your own photos compared to just buying them online. You can always get deals, i just got 150 photos printed for £4 including delivery, printing them by yourself just cant compete with that price.
For the camara it would be via the USB cable, but you can pull out the SD card (CF card) my doubt would be, if your cam is wifi compatible and you have a wifi SD card in it, if it would work :)
Hi Elaine! I need some help....I cannot get complete pics on my collaged prints nor a complete 4x4. I have an Android and use Pic Frame, Pic Collage, Instagram and a couple of others and I just cannot figure what it is that I'm or am not doing. Too, would you know why the network disconnects after every print? Is that a normal thing?? Thanks for your help, in advance! :) Jules
This printer looks dope to have! I will get it for sure. But I will like to know if I can print out RAW images from the SD card straight to the printer.
Nice. My grandparents got one of these. Unfortunately using the thing is a bit too complicated (for them). For example: - Why does the wifi need a password (you would print one thing and be done with it, noone would hijack your printer) - The wifi ssid (name) is too complicated - CP190+hex garbage? come on. Just name it Canon Selphy Printer or so. - The printer forgets the setup for "direct connection", sometimes after shutting down (plugging out) and restarting, you need to configure that again. - Why does the thing need a separate app - all the phone-OSes already have a "Print" functionality in their gallery app, but the printer does not work with that. - The app should offer to search for and connect to the wifi of the printer, you should not have to go to the wifi settings manually. - Why does the printer also have the ability to connect to your wifi if it has its own - adding more options just makes it more complicated.
Hi Elaine, I got a question not sure if mine is faulty I got it after Christmas when I saw your review, but I realize my in my settings I need to put smooth skin each print, is that faulty? or is that normal? thanks!
Thank you for this nice review. I'm thinking of buying this printer, but am worried that in the end the photos are too expensive. =/ The refills are a bit pricy. But my question is: Can you select on the printer itself that it prints out two different pictures on one sheet? Or will it print out the same picture twice when you select the 2-up option?
It does a cool photo collage thing. You can have up to 8 photos on a single sheet and the printer will arrange them. I actually like some of the layouts it makes with like 3 photos on one sheet.
Just to clarify. I've never used the photocollage app she uses in the video. The printer does it all for you if you select the 2up 3up 4up etc... Setting. The advantage of doing it her way I guess is that you get to preview what it looks like before printing.
this is all sizes ..what about the small pic? and you cut the paper if its done to print now is that okay? i want small pic i want all sizes is that okay .. IDK im sorry .. so im asking 😭
Hi! Can the photo paper be cut? I would like to print like you did, 2 photos on one paper, and cut them into separate pieces. Will that damage the photo paper?
HI there, Not sure if you might know the answer to my question, but I am going to give it a shot. I have a iPhone 6 and have been using the camera to take my pictures. Lately, when I go to print, I just go through the Selphy App on my phone directly, I don't use Pic Frame or anything, but when I go to print - the pictures are blown up and distorted. They look fine on my camera roll and they are great when I post them to FB. But when I print them on my Selphy or even take them to Walgreens, they are blown up. ANy suggestions would be geatly appreciated dear, I am scouring FB trying to figure out how to correct this this. Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
I’m glad you went slow,. I’m nervous about how to use mine. It was passed down to me,without instructions,so you are are helping me tremendously. Thanks! I’ll be watching this a few more times.
+peaceluvscrap i have watched this video many times ... i like hearing your voice how you detail everything :D i think you do a good job reviewing electronics.... instead of scrapbook... they views and likes speak by them self too... there are a lot of people that review electronics and honestly i don't like the way they detail them and the way they talk,,, i think a lot will agree with me so do more electronic reviewing just a tip to reshape your channel to success
Hi. nice review have you been trying Rapid print without rest for around 3 hours? i m planning getting it for wedding or party Photobooth Business , but i m afraid this cutie white will broke after 3 Hours torture :(
Hi there, I just wanna ask, I just printed a few photos from this printer, but out of the 3, 2 photos came out with a white stripe in the middle, then o tried printing again, and the same thing happened! Is it because of the ink or is it the machine's problem? :(
I've had this thing for about 4 years and was too intimidated to even take it all out of the box. Wanted to make my own Christmas cards for the few that I send this year and decided this was the push I needed. Than you so much for posting this tutorial. I don't know what I would have done without it....and you.
Nice video! I'm thinking about buying this printer. You made this video in 2014 and I'm wondering how is your printer now? Has it broke down, any noticeable wear and tear affecting performance? I want to buy this for a photobooth business I am soon starting. Thank you
As long as the printer and phone are on the same network you actually don't have to download the canon app to print from your phone. Just choose a photo from your camera roll and hit "send" and "to printer". Great video!!!! Another great feature of the printer is that it creates it's own wifi. You can technically setup this printer anywhere an connect to it. I love it.
Hello , Good morning. So I have a CP 910 at home but it is giving a paper jam error without the paper being locked, could you ask me this question or how to solve it?
has anyone tried using sony svm-f120p cartridge on this canon selphy? is it compatible? i saw this cartridge(canon) and looked the same as sony. i have sony printer and i cant find a sony store that are selling cartridge anymore. i thougt it might work.
Do you know how to get a paper jam out of that kind of printer I have the same kind and the paper got up were those gets are and won't come out and when I tern it on it goes forward then back and won't come out
any tips mine keeps reading wrong size ink i bout a box that had 3 inks and paper 2/3 worked the 3rd keeps saying wrong sie it was all 3 from the same box
Hmm. I've been looking into these, but I'm not sure I see the advantages. $28.00 for 100 prints? I can get 100 4x6 prints for 8 dollars shipped on online photo printing sites. I just got 1,016 prints of sizes ranging in 4x4 to 8x10 for $80.00 shipped. To print 1000 4x6 photos on a selphie you'd have to pay $280.00. I guess if you want smaller photos and irregular sizes of smaller photos, you'd have an advantage? Is that the appeal. Maybe if you make a lot of mini albums or projects where you need photos immediately this would be worth it. I'm just really curious if you print photos for scrapbooking (4x6 and smaller) how quickly you go through the ink? A month? 6 months? Are there advantages I'm overlooking? I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it's overall value compared to online printing.
Great point! Sadly where I live it takes quite along time for prints to be received I'm getting this printer tomorrow's as my friends have it and it's amazing and convenient u can totally see where your point is this point should definitely be taken into consideration 😆
After making this comment I started to realize how many 2x3 prints I use in my scrapbooking and realizing how much ink and paper I use to print them on my normal printer (and what poor quality they are on that). For each person it would be different, but I think if you did a lot of minia albums and project life scrapping like me, it would be worth it in conjunction with an online printing place. Good luck and enjoy your new machine!
These damn photo printers work for awhile and then the rollers age or something and they will no longer pull the photo paper into the printer. HP, Canon, all of them. Nuisance.
Coolio -thanks for posting this! I just ordered the Canon Pixma All-in-One Inkjet Colour Photo Printer - hope it's as good. Sounds like they do pretty much the same thing. Will let you know! xo Vicky
Hey stranger - she lives!!!!! Yes, I did get my printer, and I am totally ashamed to tell you that it is still sitting in the box. I am a chooch! I gotta get that baby up and running before all the inks expire! Stay tuned!
I had great results with this printer but a couple of times the ink cartridge failed. I can accept that. It it unbelievable but you cannot buy the ink without paper. So you will soon end up with paper and no ink and the papers cannot be used in other machines. It is stupid marketing, but typical.
Hello! I just got the Anna Griffin version of this little wonder and I loved i got it in black Friday for $70 (it actually it didn't cost me a dime coz I used a $30 dls gift card and cash I got for Christmas, anyways...while trying to install the drive using the enclosed CD to my laptop it will not work on it as I have El Capitan IOS on my macbook, how can I print photos using my laptop/?
Great video to review this. I am looking for a printer to use with my iPhone 6 so am excited to order this. Question, when printing you mention to print a 4x6 by setting to 3x? (can't find the exact mention now). Would you not just select 4x6? Also can you print smaller sizes? I assume it is compatible with iPhone 6? And lastly, have you tried a different portable printer since reviewing this one?
My Selphi is only printing portrait and not landscape. I so hope you can help me. I'm one of your subscribers. Love your channel. Easy to understand and professionally done
Hey! Great review! I am wondering if you can print it like 'instagram' ratio aka old polaroid border? and also if you have any mac app available to customize border effects or texts around the border so on....Thanks in advance if you reply!
It prints the yellow version then stops and says paper is the wrong size, yet I have changed nothing in the settings and it did print in yellow in that size. it does not go back to put the other layer of colours....would you know how to get him to continue printing? Is it because it needs more ink? Wouldn't it say change ink cartridges?
this is all sizes ..what about the small pic? and you cut the paper if its done to print now is that okay? i want small pic i want all sizes is that okay .. IDK im sorry .. so im asking 😭
Thanks so much for showing this - a couple of questions - when using a usb plugged into it -- you had the 1up, 2up etc....is that more than one copy of the same picture or is it that you can put 1 or 2 pics on the same 4x6? Also with your phone apps like the photo collage one - do they have those options for a PC? I usually take pics with my camera - not on my phone and so that wouldn't help me if I only could do it on my phone. Thanks again for showing this - I never even knew it existed!
