We compare the VIXIA HF R300 and HF R700 low light performance.
Both these cameras are noisy in low light, but the 700 certainly wins with better stabilization, focus, and less halos around the bright lights.
Both filmed with identical settings, AVCHD MXP recording quality.

1080i vs 1080p? What setting did you select for the Hf r300?

I am looking at this camera for aviation. Can you upload a video of you filming things in flight? I am curious how well in maintains focus on an object surrounded by sky that is rapidly changing distance from the camera. You could try filming planes, helicopters, balloons, RC aircraft, etc. Stand next to a street and film cars coming at you, how well does it keep focus on the car? Can you go to or near an airport and film so takeoffs and landings? Thanks!
