I'm pretty sure Sony just tweeted that your long-awaited Sony updates are available!! A7s3, A1, A7IV, A9III were released just now, and my A7R5 was this morn
The Canon lens on the Sony body has more vignetting in the corners, looks like Sony are doing some software lens correction in-body on their native lenses.
Lol, is that why the Sony FF mounts and APSC mounts are the same tiny size. Sony FF mounts do look like they are almost cutting the edges of the sensor.
If anything this just prove that the Canon lenses NEED correction and the Sony body lack the profile to correct it (why would it have EF lenses profile). Anyway, all camera companies do that, it's really not a secret. Just watch Christopher Frost review, he has a segment where he shows how lenses truly perform without in-body correction. Most of them, especially Canon's lenses, are really horrible without correction.
@@JetBen555 the metabones adapted I have just lies to the sony and pretends I have Sony lenses mounted to do the in body compensation. Works pretty well with the Canon 24-105
That lens adapter doesn't always stop down correctly in video. Also having to hold the button on the adapter down while attaching ef lenses is a pain. also sometimes video AF doesn't work at all until you remove and re insert the battery. At least on Sony a7 iii
Been rocking the 7Artisans adapter with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 on my Sony FX30 for over a year and it's brilliant. Has never let me down and by far the best wide zoom out there.
The canon 85mm f1.2 was amazing on the sony, it was a lot better for the skin imperfections. Really cool adapter, going to get one for canon glass for my s5ii
Man I love the way you do these videos, you are one of the creators that I would watch even if you shoot your youtube videos with a Fujifilm xt-10 in 720p because of the content.
Just bought the 7Artisans adapter and regret it immediately. Yet, I hold out hope that my Sigma 18-55 and Canon 17-55 will obtain the Sony autofocus magic. I'm dubious though. Since I never return anything, go ahead and spend that commission!
I skip breakfast, so I suppose I follow a 16/8 diet - works for me at the moment. I used to only eat one meal a day at lunch time and, like you described, I flew through the day! It, at the time, was the only way to survive in the job I had - however, if anybody tried to disrupt my lunch time/meal, then I would explode. Sure, heaps of energy, but also a lot of agro for me at least. Love your channel, Kasey, and I also love the occasional link to health-conscious eating along with videography/life. Thank you.
Broke hobo student here, I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D3100 for 110 cad & a Nikkor 24mm 2.8 for 155 cad. Will this be good enough for street photography (and misc), or am I cooked. Going for a retro look for my photos and videos. Update; I also bought a Sigma 28-200mm 3.8 for 85 cad. A basic zoom lens for starting portraits and stuff(?). Update; I also bought a Samyang 8mm fish eye for 160 cad. To film skating videos with my friends (bc im cool like that) Update; I also bought a Sigma 70-300 for 85 cad. Moon photos and distance stuff. Should i get a 2x teleconverter, im eyeing one up for 50 cad? Update; I also bought a Nikkor 50mm Toneh 1.4 for 150 cad. For that sweet toneh and "professional" looking portraits. Update; I'm planning on selling that 28-200 i feel it has been surplanted by the rest of my line up and the picture quality was, uh, radiation body cam footage? (photos are not like that with my other lenses) (best i could describe it) Am I addicted? Also all of that happened within the span of 3 weeks. Ive taken 4000 photos in those 3 weeks and binged your entire channel.
You're looking a lot healthier these days and your content is smooth as silk. However, your depth of field is way too shallow with that crazy ass lens but "Mr. Toneh" would probably appreciate it. The 90mm @ 2.8 looks the best on the Sony.
That "Unusable" Zeiss Planar has, to me, the best look of any of these lenses. They're provably relativity cheap in Germany, so I'm going to take a look. See yah! Your new lighting setup looks great btw
@@cameraconspiracies I found the T1.4 for 220-360€, but there where other versions, T1.7, for instance, that went for what#s probably peanuts: 45-70€. I wonder if it's basically the same lens, where they just decided not to let you stop down to where it is unsharp. I might go on a shopping spree after I get the monez from my current gig. Idea for videos: used micro 4/3 gear is almost worthless right now. I see genuine Zeiss lenses go for 20€ in Austria, and the cameras are dead cheap. Now that micro 4/3 is so cheap and uncool, is there all of a sudden a reason to change to micro 4/3. I'm sure your conclusion would be "NOOO", but you could explore a ton of niche lenses and former top-of-the-line cameras without having to sell all your organs
I was a Lumix adventurer like you, but then I got a Sony ZV-1 as a gift from my wife and I really liked some of the features, so just for fun I bought the zvE10 too, then came the lenses, then A7II 😮again just for fun and then zvE1 and I have to say that it is my main moneymaker. I am glad I chose E1 over SIII as the AF features are great and I love the possibility to use all my mount lenses all over and between my A7, E10s and E1. I still keep all my seven or eight M4/3 and L-mount bodies, but now they are mostly just backup.
What do you think of the Huawei p40 lite in 2024? I know its way worse than the p40 pro but i would like to hear your opinion about it. I think its pretty worth it, because i only paid 220$ CAD what do you think of it for the price?
That 7artsains adapter is the best to put EF glass one a Sony body. The autofocus works better with my Sigma 18-35 art adapted than the one cheap Sony lens I own.
3:35 You have the A7S4??? OMG just Imagine that... Sony must be really confident in their product if they send you the 1st copy. Yes this is my question for the next show 😅. On a serious note. You probably deserve the 1st copy more than anyone I know. At least we know that you will be completely honest, and definitely the happiest youtuber alive... Come on @sony ! Blow up Kasey's channel and send this man the perfect camera before @nikon beats you to it...
Were you actually able to get the adapter to update? I cant even get their web page to open to download the update? Please and thank you for your time!
Canon 135mm f2L Kasey! It's awesome! Get one of these freaking lenses. It will blow your mind with its sharpness and 3D pop. I use one on my Sony as I was not parting with it when I dumped Canon for Sony. The original 35L f1.4 is a lens I have never hated as much. It was so soft wide open that I sold it for the same $700 CAD I paid for it just a few months later. It was junk but try it if you can get it for cheap.
Some of my older EF lenses don't let me change aperture with Metabones adapater on A7S III. The 17-40/4 is stuck on f/9.9. The 50/1.2 is fine, but C-AF acts insane.
Do these modern cameras improve any on the flippy screens? My crappy old bridge camera can point any direction I want. The only hitch is that on some angles it seems to think I want the image upside down. Have they fixed that with motion sensors yet?
I was editing either eos r or rp footage today at work and almost half of the footage was completely out of focus cuz it was a little dark. I’ll just leave that info here.
I recently came accross an adapter for Sony that will allow autofocus with manual focus lenses, I will try to find the link and share it with you, I also found a 135mm f2 you might be interested in, I'll message you. Great video, liking your new lens and lighting set up. 🤭 That Sony a7s4 grip.
hello veggieman i thought id ask again, which camera would you recommend on a budget for indoor face recordings? im sure you have said this in some video but i couldnt find anything. im broke but i wanna do some indoor youtube videos if you have any recommendations id be grateful
There's a tiny hole in the bottom of the battery box and it trickles into your sleeve and runs all the way to the cuff of your pants. Then it trickles onto your shoe and forms a little toneh pool onto the floor. That's why you should never shoot at f22 in sandals.
I think the Sony and Canon lens combos looked better than the Canon R8 video. The colours looked better and your face was smoother plus there was more dimensionality to your face on the A7siii and Canon lens combos. The same EF lenses video looked ordinary next to the A7Siii video - maybe its the warmer tones on the Sony. Canon looks cooler as in more blueish.
Would be really interesting to see the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM tested. I have the Sony FE 35 mm F1.8 for video, and I'm debating FE 35mm F1.4 GM for stills, though, it has a lot of focus breathing. With the adapter like that, you could, in theory, have a Canon lens on a Sony body which would be great for both photo and video, because this lens has no focus breathing, as far as I'm aware.
does the 85mm f1.2 makes you have a larger face because of compression ? and 16mm f1.4 sigma makes you thinner ? ps: beards are great to see the over sharpening of the cameras
Quick question: why do the ads on the youtube videos of a comedian/amatuer filmmaker assume I need to buy professional cinema gear? Do they think James Cameron is watching this video or something?
would there be any chance you could put the name of the camera, and lens on every shot you take? im always curious about that when watching your vids, more so then any other channel for some reason . . . perhaps because i see you being all curious about what you are seeing and i want to know whats going on too :)
@@cameraconspiracies got it, i know you have the info throughout the vids, and the info on the bottom. but i usually am doing other stuff with my hands (dont ask) and by the time i look at the screen, the info is gone, or my fingers are too busy to be scrolling down. but thats all my problem :P
Why is there some horizontal shake once you switch to Sony? Is this the IBIS glitching? P.S. It also seems your shot isn't level judging by the book shelf? Might wanna adjust it :)
The Sony footage looked surprisingly good. Maybe Canon color science is a myth and it's really the Canon glass. Let's hope the secret ingredient isn't ground up kittens and baby ducklings. Because then we'd feel funny using those lenses.
@@cameraconspiracies Sony makes people look sickly, my R3 runs circles, and I also shoot stills and the big body has a lot of advantages. Also, when switching to hand-held video, it's so stable, oh, the batter life and does not overheat.
Appreciate the look at the Canon/Sony adapter, but wish you were more thorough and talked about video autofocus. I bought a Sigma MC-11 Canon/Sony converter just to mount a Tamron 85mm. The A7-SIII will autofocus some and then locks up and requires a restart. Annoying at the 85mm is a nice lens.
Actually, the A9III has excellent exposure latitude. Which is what really matters when you need to push and pull in post. It’s an amazing camera. And while I love the R3… the A9III is next level. FYI: I own both… I’ll go now!
if you mean at 0:55, he said canon r8 24mm 1.4 PS: you might want to turn on CC for Closed Captions so when you don't properly understand, reading what was said might help (often CC is not perfect but it works fine enough)
Im a Fuji user of crop and gfx but I need advice as to which full frame brand I should buy ? Possibly Nikon Sony or canon with a budget upto 2k for a used body
At 3:38 you said that the Sony a93 "felt the same as my a7siv" - so you admit that you are favored by Sony and have an early test copy of the a7siv! I knew it. Check it. The video does not lie. The conspiracy runs deep.
So, the Canon kind of looks natural and pleasing, then the Sony, all of a sudden, looks so much sharper with more toneh, but then starts looking over-produced, like an iPhone computing toneh-magic.
The Sigma MC-11 is junk for vide. Yes you can use EF lenses on your Sony camera for photography. But I find that my EF Sigma lens does work natively on the Sony camera, it limits my Canon L lenses in video to MF. Why it does this? Clearly software if 7artisans can make Canon lenses work in video (sort of) then why can not the Sigma? I like the MC-11 for my Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART (last of 3 original EF lenses I had) but I hate it for my remaining Canon L lenses such as my 24-70L, 135L, 100L if for video. Again photography it works fine but still the AF sucks.
Bruh why is Sony always green 😅 Dude everytime no matter who's behind the camera it's green. Movies, green. Why? Try boosting ISO color shift, green. This is why I haven't bought one. I would b/c they're light weight and small. Canon is the opposite, always red 😅 or pinkish red. Nikon has a touch of Red too but so much easier to fix by just shooting the correct WB, and maybe adding a slight yellow tint depending on the lens, but mostly perfect straight out of camera if you get the WB right and shoot on portrait or neutral.
