This is a great test my man! Thank you. So I just got my Komodo and I am curious about purchasing the Canon speed booster. Do you find yourself using the booster all the time or do you find yourself going back to a regular adapter (non booster)?
Thanks so much! I’ve kept it on for most of my stuff. I have a Tokina 11-16mm lens that is for crop sensors, so I’ll use the non-boosted adapter for that lens. Hopefully I can get the Canon 16-35mm soon and not have to switch the adapters though.
@@ajwilliamsmedia Awesome! Yeah I was just curious how worth it it was for me haha. I love the look of my Full Frame Sony FX3 and I was hoping this adapter would give me a similar look.
I did test that and the Viltrox has 0 problems with autofocus. The reason I didn’t include it in this video is because I still have the old firmware on my C70 at the moment, so it wouldn’t have been fair to the Canon Adapter.
My experience with the Viltrox R3 has been nothing but good. I haven’t had to update it even with all of the firmware updates canon has released for the C70. When I use it with some of my vintage glass, I do get some noticeable movement in the image when I pull focus. If you’re planning on using cinema glass or vintage glass, I’d go with the R3 Pro, but if you’re going to use autofocus, there’s no need to upgrade.
So I bought the viltrox 0.71x after I saw your video. Do thanks a ton for this. One quick question though I am using it on my C70 with 24-70 f2.8 canon. I dont really see the f2.8 change to f2. Is it even working ?
@@ajwilliamsmedia ah ok I got it, I did a misunderstanding I think, because I saw a video from Josh channel and he show big purple in the center of the frame when shoot in back light situations! Thanks AJ your channel is very helpful bro! Keeping going!
Technically it would probably work. BUT it’s not a good idea to put a speed booster in full frame sensors. That is… unless you can find a EF-mount large format lens. That would be an interesting experiment.
