my 17 year old neighbor girl was killed in a one car accident on the way home one night.. She was her mothers only child and sweetest girl ever. It has been 13 years already but every time I hear this song I think of her and shed tears.

The last thing my dad ever said to me was over the phone. He lived 2 blocks away from me. And the last thing he ever said to me was "Hey come see me. I need to talk to you about something." I said "OK, I will." and we said our Love You's and Goodbye's........ I was heading out the door to go grocery shopping and I completely forgot to stop by their house. At 1030 that night I reminded myself to go there first thing in the morning. Instead I got woken up by a phone call at 3 AM from my mom because he'd had a heart attack and died. I found out from her that the thing he wanted to talk to me about was to tell me that his doctor had informed him the day before that that he was absolutely riddled with bone cancer and wouldn't survive it. I thank God every day that I told him I love you on the phone. And I also thank God that he took him quickly with a heart attack instead of slowly with cancer.

I just lost my daughter and I have never heard this before. Thank you. I needed to hear this today.

Sad songs are good for the soul if you allow yourself to feel them. I think that's one of the major reasons why so many people love country music. It helps you reflect and allow you to process your feelings if you allow it to and that is healing.

Thanks for sharing when my dad died my best friend mike was one that pulled me out the darkness but when he past i started shutting people out n never fully let them back in it feels selfish but it hard to look at his family not cause anything bad it just reminds me of qho we lost

I heard a song, only once, in the '70s, with all the race riots happening and all. Blood Brother. It was about a rich, White doctor's son and a ghetto youth,who were 'going for brothers'. The white boy was struck in the head by a thrown brick,during a riot. The last thing he said to his Black friend, was, " Your my blood brother. I love you like no other." Talk about cry!
