This song never fails to make me emotional ... I grew up in a very small town and had a good friend...we shared the same classes thru our school years and she was always sick ..she couldn't play outside sometimes so I stayed in with her and we got older she stayed so small and i would carry her books and backpack and there was even times i carried her on my back to classes ( our school had a ton of stairs) ... All she wanted was to be a chef ... Our senior year of high ... Just a few months shy of graduation she passed away from her illness and thinking back during her service her dad brought her horse and all i remember is her horse... and her father standing there i didn't see the crowd or even the massive tree right next to her grave,... Her death shattered me but it also took my fear of death away...I ended up putting my tassel on her headstone after graduation ... I often think about who she would be today what she would have accomplished , she may have only been on this Earth 17 years but in them 17 years she taught all of so much I feel blessed to have had her in my life .... No one is promised tomorrow
I lost my best friend, who was also my baby cousin in December of 2016. She was 23, had Cystic Fibrosis and was almost 2 years post-double lung transplant. I can't even tell you how many times I've dialed her number or started writing a text message and then all those emotions come back to the surface. I will say, I'm so glad that she has gone 2 1/2 years without feeling pain. I know she's watching over my family and I. But it doesn't make me not wish she was here... as humans we are greedy, and time is something that you just never have enough of.

This song gets to me. January will make 3 years since I lost my best friend, he was like a brother to me! Me and him were on our first combat deployment we were new soldiers that were unsure but somewhat excited about the opportunity. We were next to each other joking around the whole flight talking about the most rambling things. The one thing I remember the most was him telling me that I had no need to worry he would make sure I made it back home to my family. I have experienced many rough moments in my life but never have I like the day I had to salute his remains as he was loaded into the plane for his final flight home. To this day I still feel the guilt that I made it back and he didn’t. It was so hard flying back home at the end of the tour looking around for him but knowing he wasn’t on that plane. Whenever I hear this song I think of my older sisters best friend Ariel, who died in an accident only a few years after she graduated. She was like another older sister to me and I still cry when I read the book I recieved on my 18th birthday that had a paragraph from Ariel about who she believed I would become.

This song gets me cause I start thinking about who my son Matthew would be. He was born stillborn so he never got a chance to do anything. When my oldest child was four we went to see Kenny at a signing for best buy. He was in town for a concert so the day before he signed CDs at Best buy for only an hour. My son and I were in line first after waiting at the store for three hours before they opened. He walked his happy self up to the table, stood on his tip toes in his big cowboy hat just to see Kenny. He handed him his guitar and said hi think my tractors sexy guy. Kenny talk to him for almost ten minutes. Right as we walk away Kenny's publicity manager stops me and hands me two free tickets to the show. The show was sponsored by Maytag so when we got there to wait in line my son got to meet and hang out with the old Maytag repair man. Then at the concert when Sara Evans played she picked up my son and sang to him on stage. When Kenny came out he did the same thing only in a much cooler way and for longer of a time. It was the best day of my kids life so far. He signed so many autographs to people's tickets saying my son was cuter anyway. I don't remember how many scribbles my son did before we got to leave the place.

I haven't listened to this song since 2010 when my best friend was killed on his motorcycle. He was a HUGE Kenny Chesney fan and would go all over seeing him. He had just gotten engaged and bought a house with his fiancée and graduated from Wentworth 2 years earlier. I often wonder "who he'd be today" and what our lives would look like.
My little brother was murdered when he was 21 and almost every day I wonder who he'd be today. I was driving home from visiting my mama the first time I heard this song shortly after his death and I cried so hard I had to pull over on the side of the interstate until I could calm down. My husband and I lost our daughter at 3 months old in 2014. It was by far one of the hardest things we have ever been through. We were told we are carriers of a horrible disease called mitochondrial disease. There are millions of different strands and the one we are carriers of is one of the worst. It always makes me think of my friend Scott, who served in the USMC and died in the South Canyon wildfire in Colorado on July 6,1994; he was only 27, and one of a total of 14 that died in that fire.
