🤔 one pot only 😉 1. oil to be heated, then curry paste into the hot oil to develop the flavor, stirr well 2. add coconut cream liquid stirr until boiling 3. add other ingredients like meat and veggies 4. cook until consistency is nearly preferred state 5. add some rice noodles (they are ready after a very short time) 😋
@ktpuss
@ktpuss 3 года назад
Yes! We said as we watched you could add rice or noodles, you can get shrink wrapped individual ones here that just need heating through 🙂

Sorry if I sound like a Mr. know-it-all, but he was using it wrong. You are supposed to engage the small hook on the back of the Leatherman can opener to the outer rim of the can and dig the point on the inner side of the same ring. That way you will have leverage.

Good NZ morning Andy. I might be a bit old fashioned at 70+ but i still like your cooking over fire, hot rocks etc. If I'm being honest it didn't have the same bushcraft feel to it. Not a complaint. But THANKYOU for the hard work you put into producing this video. Until next time..take care and stay safe. atb.

Looked good as always. I found chicken in a pouch so bought some of that. these canned and pouch meats could be a life saver since they are easy to store and hardly take up any space at all for camping or backpacking. I hadn't seen the powdered coconut stuff will have to look.

Looks good Andy! That dried coconut milk is interesting. I’ve been experimenting with making my own lightweight one pot meals recently. Working pretty well. I’ve found garlic powder is a killer ingredient (after struggling with trying to process sticky fresh garlic!). Been wanting to do something with coconut milk so I’m gonna give that powdered stuff a go! Thanks! 😄👍

omg! I use that powder a lot too, and I use it by the tablespoon not the pouch. 1 to 2 tablespoons coconut powder to a cup of water, 1/4 cup rice 1/4 cup lentils 1 chili 1 sprig thyme and topped when cooked with crispy onions. For breakfast, 1 tablespoon coconut powder, 1 tablespoon banana cream pie filling powder (or half an over ripe banana mashed), 1/2 cup dry rolled oats and hot water and then make yourself oatmeal for good coconut banana oatmeal (finished with a sprinkle of dark jaggery if using real bananas mmm good)

The tin opener on the leatherman, works similar to the swill army knife. You hook the rear of the cutout under the outside of the tin's rim. Though on the leatherman, you cut backwards, whereas the swiss knife cuts forward. But like the video, must try this on my next outing. Though I have never taken my crusader out. Always seem to default to the trangia. I tend to empty tinned goods into sandwich bags or plastic containers, to kiie the dead weight down.

Mate when using a multi tool tin opener you should use the little hook on it against the outside of the tins rim and use it as a fulcrum to lever the blade part of the opener into the lid. Then walk the blade around the time to open the can. You will find it works much more efficiently that way?
@momoneeee
@momoneeee 3 года назад
Thats what I was going to say too, lol... I've never bought a commercial can opener, I've always used my Leatherman, pretty reliable all around. But that was a little painful watching Andy open that tin😅
@lessharratt8719
@lessharratt8719 3 года назад
Totally true. I see others picked up on that as well. I would like to add that a little work with a file on the cutting edge and the hook can make this type of opener so much easier and faster to use.
