You just saved me so much money! I am looking for a good “top down view for filming art” kind of mount and this appears to not be in. I have an Akron mount, which is good in theory, but the knobs have to be SO tight for the thing to actually hold a phone in place and it hurts my hands to tighten those small knobs that tight. Ughhhh the search continues.

Thank you for this review; I wish I had watched it before I purchased this :) I will get good use out of it, and it is very easy to use, but when I saw the cord and realized the light part was the exact same one as the 19$ ring light I purchased off of Amazon my heart sank. I am thankful there was a scratched on available on the website, so it was only $150, but one is enough.

Thank you for going in-depth with this. I have one and I think it shakes too much. Most videos I see are unboxing videos. I film larger items and when I have the arm up high I can't seem to position it so that I don't get that expensive base piece in the video. I find aligning the phone very tricky and my Pro Max phone is heavier which adds to the shake. I hope that I can find another video with how to position the phone correctly. Their videos make it look easy but I have a tough time lining it up so it doesn't block some of the camera. I think I could've found one for a lot less that's about as good. But here I am and I need to learn how to use it better.

Hey - I have the same reservation. Too expensive for what's worth. Would consider it if they had usb built in to the wood base and a magnifier maybe haha

Great review - do you happen to have a recommendation for something that would be similar and more sturdy? The thing that bugs me the most is the phone clamp - Is there a mount that's easier to clamp your phone into? Would really appreciate it!

I'm curious about your thoughts on the Patriot Lighting Apollo Desk Lamp from Menards? I can't find anyone who has compared it. It's more affordable and seems to have similar settings as the Canvas.

The major difference will be the magnifying glass - i'm not finding a version without it. i'll stop into my local menards though, maybe they'll have one there. but i also may need a mangifying glass - haven't used one before, but i've got a few projects that it might be helpful with.
