Yeah I've been really impressed with this company. I only had a minor issue for a warranty claim but still they offer to reinburse for any labour or tools required. And very quick with the transaction. Love my Spectral!
I had a similar claim with my 2016 Canyon Spectral November last year, where the drive side chainstay had a crack. Because the frame had a 2 year warranty and 6 year guarantee (which means Canyon will replace and rebuild at no charge a damaged frame within 2 years, and supply but not fit a new part within 6 years of purchase) they sort to replace my rear triangle. Problem was no rear triangles were available so they offered me a 2018 Spectral CF frame. The cost to me was a $199 delivery charge and a new rear shock - total out of pocket $800. Kudos to Canyon.
I am in a warranty claim with Canyon now. They required me to send the entire back back for assessment before a warranty claim would be approved. I wish they would have just sent me a frame.
Are you within the first two years of warranty? Is your warranty claim a result of a crash or a manufacturing issue? They are the only things I can think of that maybe different. Hopefully they haven’t changed their warranty claim process.
@@juicemooseman I got my bike back on 6/24. They replaced the frame under warranty. I only had my bike for two months and around 160miles on it. Canyon took care of me.
I was afraid of Canyon (and most other direct to consumer brands) because the unknown of warranty coverage so I got a Giant trance x in June It's literally falling apart since day one and for every little issue the shop insists I must have the stock parts on the bike and bring it back to them days at a time to take pictures and "inspect" the bike. Extremely long delays for insignificant parts & issues, I abandoned the warranty and built it to my liking. Next will probably be canyon or Polygon... It was built by apes and warrantied by squirrels...
Sorry to hear you have had such a bad experience with Giant, unfortunately I have heard that Canyon has now changed how their Warranty process… I think they now make you send the broken frame in for inspection so you are without a bike for short time and then send you the new frame. I could be wrong but this is what I have heard from recent warranty claims from others in the comments below. Not to say they are a bad company, but maybe not as super amazing as before.
my endurace frame broke at the seat stay. canyon agreed to send me a new frame and will pay for parts transfer. your wife's fortunate; it's been over a month and the bike still isn't rideable. it's a long story.
Sorry to hear that, at least my wife could still ride her bike while waiting for the new frame …. I keep a second bike for those situations , hopefully they can resolve it soon.
No, a lot of what was in the original frame (bolts, covers, hanger, axel etc) had to go to the new frame so you are pretty much left with a carcass, so the broken frame well what’s left of it once you strip it down is hanging art.
Was this crack caused by a crash or anything? I have dented my spectral 5 2023 frame in a crash and was wondering if there was a chance of getting a new frame under warranty. Had the bike for almost 9 months.
The crack was not the result of a crash, I believe that most bike co do have good crash replacement policies so you should be able to get a front triangle at good discounted prices. I guess it depends where and how bad the dent is. I’m still riding my Avalanche with Monster T. It’s had a massive dent for the last 20 years still going strong.
These other brands would never pay for your parts to be transferred across to your new frame… the bike shop that sells specialized said so themselves. They were pretty impressed that canyons would cover the cost.
@@juicemooseman ehm, Giant has superb support and has dealers pretty much everywhere you don't have to pay anything if there are tons of dealers and you can simply pick it up at a shop nearby the same goes for Trek, I have a dealer of Trek in another town in my country, and delivering some spares or parts for the frame cost so little, so I wouldn't even mention that at all Also, Canyon is a pretty big brand
@@ostankovalex1176 absolutely no doubt most of these big companies will have good support, I think the point was that Canyon in this case and in others I have personally witnessed went above and beyond what these other companies would have , as was to the surprise of our local bike shop.
To be honest I don't like the idea of having a local shop replace everything. What does that do to the warranty by Canyon if something fails on it due to installation. Also having the hassle fall on the customer to find a local shop with pricing within their limits isn't good service. In my opinion they should have given you a new bike and took the old one back. Or at least picked it up and fixed it themselves and sent it back to you.
Yeah true they would be the next extra step, I guess that’s the small inconvenience we get for buying online. But then you have to realise that you would be without a bike for weeks. In this case my wife was without a bike for one day, so it’s probably still the better option.
How many years did you have it before claiming? I think in their policy if it’s within the first two years of warranty they will cover the cost of the rebuild, after that it’s up to the owner to rebuild.
Ah nice! Yes so they will provide you with new frame after Two years but not the transfer of parts. Specialized/trek/giant etc don’t even offer the first two year parts transfer, the LBS was surprised that canyon would cover the cost
First 2 years they cover everything , next 5 years , they will still give you new frame but from what I understand you have cover shipping for new frame and transfer of parts yourself. 7 years total warranty.
@@juicemooseman Spares?¿? Isn't it cracked? As it looks like you aren't quite concerned with the safety of riding a cracked frame (lol) , if you have time to spare you can try to repair it. Jim Langley has a pretty good video on it. Best of luck.
@@iasha740 Thanks mate! Spares as in rear triangle, linkages, there are quite a few bits that can wear out. Yeah we have done a few other carbon repair videos if you look on the channel, not a hard fix just finding the time, so its on the spares rack for now.
