During the finale of their battle against Pernida, does Nemu become the strongest Vice-Captain we've ever seen? I'm inclined to say yes...but let me know your thoughts! Is there anyone else who could decimate a member of the Schutzstaffel like that?
Honestly, since we're only talking about vice-captains, I believe Nemu was the strongest at that moment. The other vice-captains would not have been able to defeat the Schutzstaffel without any help from the other vice-captains, so yes, I agree with your answer. Second, even if Rukia and Renji had teamed up with their Royal Palace training, it's still the left arm of the Soul King. They would not have known that it can evolve beyond their capabilities.
Sasikibe was capable of this with bankai but he wouldn't expire from it so i give him the nod. I think renji and rukia would also put up a better fight against pernida. The royal training didn't just make them achieve 100% of their power, it increased what their 100% was. They're still above Nemu too.

Pernida, no one can see it's invisible nerves and would speed blitz all of them (even adapt to all of them if needed to) Lille is intangible and would one shots everyone literally Askin is the closest one they can defeat as long as he's caught off guard but i cant think of any vice captains that is near intelligent as Urahara.. they'd lose due to lack of plan. holy moly i'm looking so forward to those fights. i've enjoyed most of them so far. i just wish it was like twice as long. but i get it, at the same time. here, they aren't really like "oh man, i hoped i wouldn't have to use this ability. but i've waited long enough." here they are like "oh it's time to bring the maximum pain that i can almost fast as possible."
I'm more interested in the aftermath with hallucination szayelaporro honestly. The sound mixing and visuals for the emotive parts in the animated TYBW arc has been top tier, interested to see what direction Mayuri's VA will take it too.
Every character has the potential to be game breaking. That was established multiple times with the most notable figure being Yamamoto and Aizen. They mastered every skill they had at their disposal and pushed themselves to the end to reach the upper levels of power. They weren't the strongest being ever but are talking points for the top 10 as just soul reapers. Hybrids have higher ceilings so can reach potentially higher levels of power it still takes time and effort to do so.
He’s always ahead of the curve he knows anything can happen so he makes sure there is a fail safe or reverse uno card in every single one of his weapons and creations like Nemu
Indeed. Her sacrifice was tragic, but it is touching that Akon notes that Mayuri seemed to have been grieving in his own way during CFYOW. It also leading to Mayuri becoming a much better father to Nemuri Hachigo is also heartwarming.

Nemu probably had this power all the time but did not use it because she felt Mayuri could handle anything. And she just allowed herself to be treated badly to somehow help him out. But when she sees her Captain\father figure in real danger she flips the switch and becomes a demon. It was great to see her shine for once.
Nemu at max power is how I feel Bankai should be treated, not in terms of sheer power but in how costly it is to use and maintain, otherwise we get things like Arrancar arc Ichigo who never drops bankai.

@@0eyes Not the same to komamura's sacrifice too.. Mugetsu and letz still dont kill you after sacrificing all your power. Komamura's ritual doesn't kill him either but just transform him to a normal dog or should i say cursed him to become a normal dog. Nemu soul shave directly kills her after timer.. No method of saving can be done because it's not harming her on physical level.. It just straight up uses all her life energy and she dont get to live to see another day after the fight al or does she get to transform into an animal.. she's straight up just gonna be gone after using it.
It reminds me more of what Starrk did with how she can split her soul apart. Also operating at a capacity far beyond her limits that'll ultimately destroy her reminds me of the kaioken attack.

Depends how you look at it. Her peak is above Ururu's, but unlike Ururu, her power kills her. Ururu is also anti-hollow from what I remember, considering how badly she clobbered il forte. Doubtful she can do anything on the same level to a quincy. SO what's better is up to personal discretion: unsustainable but unrivaled power, or sustainable but manageable power.
Kubo really does love this motif in his writing. The power skip that has a often bad or detrimental effect on the user. Its only through hard work that a person can gain a permanent strength as we see with ichigo.
Absolutely, in fact She'd trash multiple captains. As for the vice-captains specifically, Nemu is above all of them, you'd have to include stuff like lieutenant Aizen or something.

Hax =/= autowin, in fact, most of the time people defending hax characters tend to put an arbitrary line on how far hax can carry them. Stats can allow raw power fighters to bypass or even replicate the practical effects of certain hax (Say, shunsui's bankai is a one shot... but Byakuya can Ikka senjikka and thats a one shot too), there's a reason characters like Kenpschi and Byakuya can actually compete despite being raw power only, same with Ichigo himself. Lastly, Im talking scaling. Nemu scales to vastly superior levels than shinji and co, that's an objective measure, not some subjective stuff like "Well shinji hax sound powerful, he must win bc that ability cool brou, and he captain".

I doubt a bomb is faster than post Unohana fight Zaraki Outside Yamamoto, Unohana, Zaraki, Mayuri, Adult Toshiro, Shunsui or Bankai Komamura.. No other captain can defeat a full powered Nemu.. The only way to survive is to be faster than her which means you need to be above base tybw zaraki in terms of stats wise or have someone like a crazy regeneration, immortality, or abilities that can render Nemu's movement.. A direct full soul cannon to the face from Nemu would turn most of the captain into red paste..
I like the contrast that Nemu was basically a robot until Ishida showed her how love can push you to do great things to protect what you love. Thus Ishida felt it was needed to make a great sacrifice. Nemu did the same thing here for someone she loved to protect them at an even greater cost than Ishida's. As far as strength goes, the argument boils down to who is strongest between Nemu, Renji, Kensei and Rose. Mask mopped the floor with Hisagi, Yumichika, and Ikkaku, and after some boosting from James pooped on Rose and Kensei. Renji no diffed mask, so that to me places him deep in captain level. Nemu had to carve her soul out and kill herself to damage and disperse Pernida, so is it a greater feat sure, but Renji didn't die. As Byakuya said himself you can't protect shit if you're dead. If Renji went kamikaze with a Final Zaga Teppo I'm sure he could reach far higher heights then Nemu. But this is all extrapolation from what we've seen.
Another way to albeit more dirty analogy would be to say that this is an imperfect type of Mugetsu. Unlike Ichigo who could survive using that ability Nemu use would effectively end her for all practical purposes. Still makes her hands down the strongest Vice Captain that we have feats on. Makes me wonder where sasikibe falls on the power scaling🤔 No matter Nemu is #1
The thing is, Nemu isn't that powerful at least not all the time. She's able to accomplish these insane fears by shaving off her very soul which essentially will lead to her death. It's kind of like the 8 gates technique from Naruto. If she's not capable of these feats on a normal basis, then I think your previous ranking of her is pretty accurate. I do think Renji could actually hurt pernida since he's capable of hurting Gerard while in Shikai. In terms of raw power and physical stats, Renji is in fact superior to Mayuri by a significant margin.

I think it has something to do with the power of the soul especially with the upcoming hell arc. And the entire concept of soul reapers performing that thing to pass on souls to keep balance.

People really get the Pituitary Gland function wrong. Mayuri didn't build that just in case an enemy eats her. He built that so that she could live longer since her cells would die after 4 years, it was his work around that problem. Her brain acted as a failsafe so that it would regulate her cells dying and multiplying. *It wasn't a matter of thinking ahead of an enemy in battle, it was a matter of trying to successfully create an artificial soul.*

Mayuris inventions are consistently shown to scale above him in terms of power so it makes perfect sense for Nemu to be thus strong. Kubo decided to draw her as extra thicc for this arc😏
As a benchmark we know for a fact nemu here is stronger than base zaraki since pernida after touching kenpachi levelled up to his level of strength and gained the ability to speak like him. The same way it gained the skin shedding ability from ashisogi jizo. And not just a little bit stronger than base zaraki cause she absolutely blew through pernida. She could be on the level of Shikai kenpachi. Which kinda makes no sense but whatever I’m here for it nemu is sick.
I’ll be honest. She’s incredibly powerful but I do think it would have been cooler if she was able to maintain a 100% against Pernida after using vollstandig. It would be a nice chance for the anime and her death would still achieve the same outcome.

No Mayuri saved her Brain from being absorbed by Pernida but he left her Pituitary Gland for Pernida to eat and absorb which led to Pernida’s death because Mayuri made sure if anything consumed a part of her brain like that Gland they would have excessive growth leading to their death he took the brain he saved and used it to create a new version of her on his first try and she is named Nemuri he’s always ahead of the curve in battles that’s why I love Mayuri
@GamblerOfFate777 I Don't think it's the same exact brain since Nemuri Hachigo doesn't even act nothing like Nemuri Nanago. Rather I think Mayuri based Hachigo off of what he did with Nanago meaning he used the same method of having a brain that regulated her cells. As for Nemuri Nanago I believe that her brain might be stored in one of cylinders that the other pieces of the past Nemuri project was stored in. We might see her in hell due to the vast reietsu that she had possessed

@@darkknight6219 Exactly it would’ve made Rukia’s fight with Äs Nödt so much better her overcoming her fears and avenging Byakuya’s death and her showing that she has grown stronger taking on Äs Nödt and her using her Bankai killing him would’ve been great and then Renji would get his rightful spot as Head Captain of Squad 6 and then they would be the only married Captain couple in Gotei 13 history at the end of the series
Goddamit, Nemu should have done so much more, should have broken free from Mayuri, and should have been given the opportunity to choose a death truly on her own terms for her own reasons. What she got was straight up abuse apologia, and Mayuri only felt bad for like 3 seconds afterwards because Nemu wasn't even human to him, just a product of his genius. On a more fanciful note, she and Uryuu should have skipped off into the sunset after Uryuu joined Askin's attack on the 12th Division as a pretext to finally put Mayuri down.
Agreed. I'm really not a fan of how kubo pretty much fridged her and Unohana just so that Zaraki and Mayuri could have their little moments especially Mayuri that fucker should had died but since he's the authors favorite he got to live 🤬. And yeah Nemu and Uryu would have been so cute together ❤️
@@seaside9061 I'm actually fine with Unohana's death, since it was a badass character moment for her and she went out on her own terms in order to free Zaraki from his hangups. I wish we saw more of her, but this was still a good death. I can't say the same for Nemu.

Mayuri is simply the GOAT he is the most dangerous opponent to come up against people always glaze overrated ass Urahara saying he’s the smartest guy ever but Mayuri in this arc proved he’s ahead of him in many ways Mayuri’s technical skill and preparedness for this fight is why he actually killed his opponent in Pernida unlike Kisuke with Askin he was ahead of the curve the whole time that’s why he made Nemu his strongest weapon and creation have a nice fail safe and side effect if ever ingested which caused Pernida’s death

I know it's not related, but when nemu is using the soul cannon, look at her eyes, there's only 3 people I've seen in bleach with eyes like it, and one of them is anime exclusive, yhwach, the soul king and ichigo, all of which are at 100% of their potential, exept maybe ichigo cos he was just getting visions, but that's just a fun thought
its depends on how you see a God,for me there are low lvl God´s(a beeing that is just so strong that other´s thing it is a God) and there is a transcended God a beeing beyond everyone and everyting it can whipe out a low lvl God as it if were a fly Like Eru Ilúvatar in Lords of the Rings.
I really don't like the final getsuga twist, but it kinda makes sense when compared to what Nemu does here. Ichigo uses 100% of his power and in result "dies" as a shinigami - he lives on as a human.

Dang I didn’t expect myself crying over Nèmū today but… man is this such a standout moment in the war… a character lost in a blaze of glorious combative achievement… making her spirit daddy proud killing Réīô’s Advancement! Basically became exactly the death machine necessary to save her father in such a dramatic way it Almost completes Mayuri’s Character Growth arc as she’s finished his arc of Being a father whos probably learnt to care for and believe in their child, regardless of all the details… I expect it to feel like one of the heaviest moments which might be totally dependant on… 3 voice actors and some excellent art? We do know Kubo loves these characters in particular so I’d not be shocked if Everybody cries during this moment in the anime! : D Bravo, right? Such an impactful moment for humanoids to even experience or have full comprehension of their own surprise over how their creations grow beyond their creators’ wildest imaginations! It means a lot and making it Felt More may be one of the best moments of this bit of the anime’s serialisation! It’s like marineford for the boy who wouldn’t cry naturally but maybe will evolve himself in seeing what she achieves… Why do all the blade folks have to die this arc!? : / Missing both Yáchīrū characters still! But this is a Real moment for these V.A.s to show us what they can do! Kubo really nailed making a classic moment with these scenes so I’m trying not to expect Too Much but… I think it’ll still hit regardless… everyone that rememebers the full character arc while watching is gonna get emotional… Lean into it and even give some sad one piece flashback vibes if necessary! I believe in the story when it hits readers/viewers like this moment feels! I just hope the scenes don’t feel Rushed through! I want all the dramatic closeup reactions of the characters & mayuri’s Shock as his daughter dies saving him and most of everyone else that’d otherwise be endangered… Always enjoy a proper shonen god battle but here it’s a heavier impact when it’s a characters child sacrificing themselves for other like a real hero while probably never thinking about heroics! Really hope moments like this are brought to life with the right timing and pacing so people finally see how far Mayuri has come and how much further Nemu has than he can even comprehend!
Kon, mod souls, Ururu, Nemu and then the latter two's combat forms. I think these all represent designs and ideas Kubo never managed to fit into the story, but were parts of the world he really wanted to include. Mayhap if Bleach or its British witch counterpart ever get more content, the concept of artificial souls will be explored more. One can only hope.
I feel like regarding raw power mayuri and pernida aren’t really displaying much of that. Like let’s take the rest of the schutuffel they’ve all had large and flashy attacks that decimated lands but pernida didn’t, it’s power is mainly in its adaptability and hax same with mayuri. It didn’t seem to be too durable just impossible to kill. Which is why seeing nemu possibly do the most destructive damage in a large scale seems so impressive which it really is. All i’m saying is that someone like renji might be able to do the same regarding destroying pernidas arm but regarding raw strength that’s about all they’d be able to do. Not actually beat pernida. Realistically those attacks that nemu did pernida was able to almost instantly recover
This power up seems to be close to what ichigo gets with final getsuga. Nemu uses her soul as a fuel for power, and it is an incredible amount of power, but it had time limit, the same way that Ichigo's power did. The way in wich Pernida is defeated, seems to imply that Nemu should be able to live forever, the same way usual soul does, but in the same vein as Ichigo putting everything on the line burns this power.
This overclocking thing has been a consistent trend in Bleach (and a lot of shonen for that matter). I wonder how much it lines up with something like Mugetsu (since Isshin knew about that), so I always thought Kisuke and Mayuri effectively made a synthetic version of that in their respective labs, but in Mayuri's case it was done unintentionally
That’s cool and all but again you’re overhyping things. I don’t know why you’re you using something so situational that literally kills her as to way she’s the strongest vc. and only last to for a short time and isn’t even a guaranteed win as seen with pernida. If the enemy has a hax non strength based ability or plays it smart. Also nemu has shown especially with this and her past fights that she isn’t an expert when it comes to fighting and it shows.
That line at 17:31 from Mayuri, he really got attached to Nemu. I kinda wanted to see this changed version of Mayuri earlier in the story, to see him break away from the sadistic mad scientist with no respect for human life and to have treated her a little more than the thing he created. After all Nemu is quite the likable character when she shows emotions and I was sad she died. Well, spoilers alert, at least Nemuri Nanagou

Nemu's last act feels a lot like opening the eighth gate from Naruto, insane power by burning up their own lifeforce that 400 seconds was how much time she has left burning at this speed
