On Quincy seeming spiteful and hateful...I mean aren't they? Not every one, but as a whole it's constantly pointed out about their pride and grudges, Uryu's entire arc until after SS was how he still held a grudge on the Shinigami. For Yhwach Schrifts, I honestly don't think it'd be to exciting for him giving powers to other races. He bestows power based on what they already have, he didn't 'choose' to give Bazz-B The Heat, he saw The Heat and gave him power based on that. So Harribel would get The Water, Toshiro The Ice, and so on. Some might be cool, but I doubt any Schrift would be that wild. Hollow abilities and Shinigami Shikai/Bankai are the same concept of innate powers tied to their souls after all.

Heiligpfil maybe designed to eradicate hollows but basically it's probably the "only" possible Weapon Quincy could potentially use against hollows since it is the "only" powers they can access since the "powers eradicating hollows completely" is basically something they inherited from the soul king. So regardless of what weapons they will make since Quincy powers is by default gonna eradicate hollows , any weapons they will design making it will of course gonna be oriented in highlighting what their powers will do. Also since human had hollow problems and said humans went to touch baby Ywach, I guess it make sense that the ability they receive from Ywach will be something that will act as countermeasure to said hollow problems

i always thought that it was apart of being a quincy that there powers just came with the erasing hollows from existance. it would make more sense that way as well because then the shinigami were basically saying they cant exist because they just inherently went against the natural order of things. it would also make sense as well with this particular question, because of course yamamoto went to hell, because quincys powers are for hollows not shinigami

I have a question I’ve been curious about for quite a while. If hollows are poison to quincies, then shouldn’t fullbring also be poisonous to a Quincy? After all, a fullbring is a power made from a human donning the power born from a hollow and a connection to a specific item or feeling. The hollows power makes the fullbring and the human’s attachment or connection to the item or feeling manifests it in its unique form. I would imagine Fullbring wouldn’t be as effective as hollows themselves but shouldn’t it be more effective than a shinigami like a Vizored is? I may be misunderstanding something here, but that’s why I’m asking.

Initially mistaken for Hollow powers, a Fullbringer's blessing exists as long as the person possesses / is born with a Soul King Fragment and awakens upon a certain stressful event. Yhwach, being the SK's son and someone capable to turn regular people into Quincies by sharing fragments of his own soul, would have utilized a similar mechanic for the letters. This statement also makes more sense considering we've seen at least a couple of Arrancars working for the Sternritter and the possibility that BG9 was made with Shawlong's corpse.

Only Zanpakuto can cleanse Hollows. Don Kanonji arc highlighted this--if you just destroy a Hollow via another means, they can reform. Quincy Arrows eliminating Hollows from existence is the only mode the Quincy have for ending Hollow predation. One must assume the arrows can not be engineered to do the same against Shinigami--the lethality to Hollows only works due to the nature of Hollow reiryoku. As far as the concern about the 'breakdown of reality'--that was always Shinigami propaganda and the unification of worlds has forever been the Quincy mission under Yhwach anyway. Even though it's Kubo's creation I don't agree with his answer about the Quincy arrows being designed to erase only Hollows. I think it would've made more sense to double down on how Quincy and Hollow reiatsu are poison to each other which is why it causes soul destruction when one kills the other.

2 theories I had (Until this debunked them) were. Quincy's were initially meant to hunt and kill, any souls escaped from hell, and Yhwach didn't give the shift but use his power to see what the shift word is and unlock the power. Making them the other side of the coin to soul reapers. Soul reapers protect people from hollows, Quincy protect from hell spawn (using their power to erase them). Soul reapers have Shikai and Bankai, Quincy have Shrift and Letzt Still/Vollstandig (But did not use the former because it made them seem more soul reaperish)

Ywach being able to bestow schrifts to anyone goes back to my "latent ability" theory. That technically he could bestow one to anyone, but unless a person has a latent ability that could be vastly enhanced then the efficacy of bestowing a schrift is too costly for Ywach. He still needs to impart a piece of his soul, weakening him slightly. We also know from the way Ywach talked to Uryu that Uryu had a latent ability that helped him resist auschwalen, and the schrift enhanced that laten ability. We also know that characters that already had their powers, Gerard and Pernida, didn't need schrifts, Ywach just gave them a schrift because it made them susceptible to Auschwalen and he could more easily transfer power to them. So the one's he could give schrifts to knowing they'd have abilities afterwards would be the Shinigami that can perform Shikai, Espada and select Arrancar, select humans (Yuzu and Karin most likely), and very few Fullbringers (Chad and Riruka as they don't require external items to use as full bring powers) unless the Fullbringer is dead as they retain their powers in the afterlife seemingly. This also calls back to a conversation Hisagi and Ukitake had where Ukitake mentioned that when Orihime died she could become a shinigami. Because a Shinigami is just a dead human with spiritual powers given a blank sword. Also, the Ausauchi does what Ywach's schrift bestowing does but at a much slower pace.

According to the Lost Agent Arc, inanimate objects have souls too. So following that logic, it makes sense that Yhwach could give BG9 life.

Fullbringers can give and take power from each other seemingly at the will of only one of the people involved. Is this why they're wiped from history and in hiding or whatever is going on with them? It's supposedly a special thing for a Quincy to be able to do this as one's born once every 200 years that has this power. Yet it's a thing that all Fullbringers should be able to do. Ichigo had his powers taken from him against his will. Riruka then had Ichigo's powers forced onto her against her will. Can ANY Fullbringer really do this whenever? Is it only hybrids like Ginjo and Ichigo who can do this? Is it only Ginjo? Does it have to be learned in some way? Is it from Fullbringers having pieces of the Soul King inside them? Do the powers being taken/given have to be fully awakened first? Could Aura have done something to Ichigo's powers had they met? More than anything, the Fullbringers need more explaining in how they work.

My big question about the TBTP scene is that I wonder how strong Tessai and Hachigen are supposed to be. I'd have to assume that they are far above the average captain or lieutenant respectively, and probably on par with super high tiers at that rank like Kyoraku simply because of narrative importance of smaller numbers. I'd also assume that at the point of that flashback, Tessai was much stronger than Urahara.

Remember Uryu's grandpa having different teachings from a group of Quincy who didn't agree with Yhwach? I wonder if that was the fundamental difference between them, their arrows were a tool with the current cycle of the world, while Yhwach's are an instrument to bring about the old world.

I've always wondered what happens to hollows and shinigami that aren't killed by zanpakuto or heilig bogen, if they're not destroyed or purified, where do they go?

Personally I think that the ability to erase hollows was given to the Quincy by the soul king himself.

I always had the sense that because the relationship between Shinigami and Hollow was so particular and intimate, that the Quincy were never capable of purification. it was never an option for them or could be, possibly contrived by someone high up like Central 46 or even the Zero Squad. Shinigami can't be destroyed in the same way hollows can, especially strong ones like Yamamoto Giving other entities schrifts is a pretty cool idea, I thought that was implied with the corrupted miracle stuff when he was a baby. I always assumed that the quinces can’t help but destroy the soul. It really makes no sense for them to do that on purpose. After all hollows are created from people, and they sometimes have to destroy their own loved ones. (Thinking of Orohime). My thinking is, that Kubo forgot about the destruction of a soul, and wanted to show Yamamoto in hell, logic be damned.
