A great and "clean" way of building a desulphator.. Very nice attempt! 😏👍

I don't understand this. I do understand how a capacitive dropper works, but surely the waveform from the bridge rectifier used to charge the battery will be the same as from an old-fashioned simple transformer + bridge rectifier charger? How is this better at desulphating?

fuse on the AC/DC side, if something goes wrong, e.g. the capacitor is blown, etc., etc

I don't like how you have the three way switch wired with the capacitor. It would make more sense to wire the common on the capacitor to the rectifier, and the common on the switch to the timer. Wire the T1 and T2 on the switch to the 45 and 5 terminals on the capacitor as you have here. This setup avoids charging one side of the capacitor to just let it float. While this may not particularly matter in this usage case, it's a bad practice from a safety standpoint. Remember that this capacitor is a non-polarized device, so there is no such thing as connecting it backward.

Hi, can you tell me where I can get a 220v 12h timer? Thank you!

Programmable DIN rail timer or socket timer. Try to search on any available to you internet store.

I have a question about changing the circuit for simple battery charging. AC220V - DC adapter (5V) - DC capacitor (eg 50V 220uf) - Battery (Li-ion). When I use it this way, there is no problem. If there is no problem, is the efficiency lower than when using AC capacitors? (For example, it is difficult to charge a large battery for a car.) Please advise.

wait this circuit is the worst idea if you need to charge litium based batteries. it's not meant to charge, but to send really high current spykes (thousands of Amps) into a lead acid battery. this way it could break the sulfate deposit which prevent battery charging. litium based battery are gonna explode brutally if you connect them to this circuit. Please don't play whit electricity from batteries and grid, if you don't know what you are doing

@@cmh-re Thank you. I also know that lithium-ion batteries are dangerous with the concept of video. A lot of people pointed out the problem, and I know they mentioned the risk of explosion. However, I am a case of a very small-capacity DC capacitor, my years of experience, no problem. This is because the lithium-ion battery, which is about 10 years old, can be fully charged and used.

The flaw whit this circuit is that it's like a constant current charger, but for batteries you also need some sort of voltage limiter to prevent overcharge. You can just use an lm317, set the voltage to a maximum of 4,2V (a bit lower is better). It will charge even a dead liion battery if the safety cap has not blown. To prevent fire you pick a bucket, add 4cm of sand, fill whit water, add a plastic film (like the one used in kitchen) on top and place the battery over it. If something goes wrong it would fall into the bucket whitout damaging anything else in your house

You have a 2 way switch not a three way. When explained wiring you started with the capacitor which is the middle of the circuit. REALLY? Start with AC coming in. You should also wire your switch to the AC first, then to your timer, capacitor, and bridge rectifier. It may be a good idea to add some short circuit protection.

Will a higher capacitor damage the battery? I have a 56000uF capacitor

the higher cap valu, the higer amp supply to the battery ! battery will explode if more than 50 uf !! BOOM !!

i am using 200uf 400volt Ac capacitor. rinning in 110 volts 60Hz it give me 9 amps for a big battery 2 volts 95 amps
