1)When electrolitic capacitors are charging,for a breif moment they behave like a short cuircuit. The only thing limithing the current drawn,is the internal resistance of your transformer,wich can be very low. So is your brige rectifier build fot this heavy surge current ? you have to ck. If your brige rectifier is rated at 10 amps,its peak current limit maybe lets say 25amps. Lets say you have 30-0-30 transformer,its internal resistance .1 ohms,lets say on a 1 ohm load,it can delever 30 amps surge currrent. Well this is over the rated value of your bridge rectifier.I could short circuit only after a few turn-on cycles, and sending ac to your capacitors wich could blow up in you face. You must somehow limit the inrush current towards your bridge rectfier. One way would be to instal a 2 ohm power resistor between the center tap of your transformer and the filter capacitor neutral. (0 volt) It will limit the inrush current to a level wich your bridge rectifier can handle,it won't bother your circuit's operation. Another way is to instal a 30 ohm thermistor at the same place,as it warms up,it lower its resistance. A better way,is a 30 ohm resistor with a delayded circuit with shorts it with a relay contact when your filter bank has suffitiantly charge.You should never left a rectifier bridge unprotected facing a large electrolitic capacitor. As is,your circuit is a disaster, waything to happen. Bye. Lucien
এতো সহজ ভাবে কেউ বুঝায় নি আগে। ভাই আপনাকে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ। ১ রেক্টিফায়ার ও ২ টি ক্যাপাসিটর দিয়ে ব্রিজ কানেকশন হয়। আবার চারটি ক্যাপাসিটর ও ব্যবহার করা হয়। আমি জানতে চাচ্ছি, ২ টি ক্যাপাসিটর ও ৪ টি ক্যাপাসিটর ব্যবহারে পার্থক্য টা কি।
Bro I make one sub amp with 8fet traniater for dual 12inch subwoofers...my transfermer is 45 0 45 15amps... N m using 10000 uf 100volt 4 capasiters ...is it safe ...but my board is getting heat....wts the soloution...
sir i need help on i have toriadal tranformer 0-12 need to make rectifier circuit and i have to use 8 10K mfd caps what should be circuit i am using 2 mb3510 as rectifier i am confused as -12 goes to - side + 12 to + side and 0 to ground i dont have - 12 i am using this transformer for car amp so no - is required help is appriciated
capacitors do not keep an amplifier running. they only make the voltage stable so when the bass notes hit, the voltage does not goes down as much, that way, you can keep the amplifier fed with energy so it will not clip the bass damaging your speakers and subwoofers and mantaining the operational voltage keeps it able to give you it's max power output. a good battery with enough cold crancking amps should do the trick if you are in a car, at home better use capacitors as a battery puts on quite a load on a system
