Through 2019 and 2020 a series of videos covering the Capcom vs SNK games. These included Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK 2, SNK VS Capcom Match of the Millenium and SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos. Using assets from said videos, I have combined them to creat a 70 minute long documentary. Enjoy!

Capcom vs SNK 1 the 4 button layout works the best, I hate MP and MK all low and high for me, for that and the coolest intros to matches make this a far superior game than the second.

This overview of the Capcom vs SNK series is fantastic! Thank you for including SvC Chaos, as this game is criminally overlooked. Despite it's flaws, I found the mechanics (Guard Cancel Front Step, Front Grand Step, and Exceed) to be nice additions to the game. I also believe that, while CvS2 is superlative, CvS1 is also not given it's just due. The stage intros are some of the best I've ever seen, even to this day, and the it's very well polished game overall.

Yea I'd myself personally associate this with the fact the company was sold to gambling machines in japan and the parent company had no interest in dealing with the video game culture or appealing to its fans outside of panchiko slot machines that and how senior management just rushed out the Snk version of SVC chaos .....instead of taking full advantage of the deal and developing a deep and wonderful ultimate version of KOF 99 that included capcom characters .....had they started development and focused on it as the next KOF game after KOF 98/99 it probably would have been way better then KOF 2000

I saw the length of this video and my biceps 💪 started popping! Epic! Awesome! CAPvSNK2 is one of the best 2D fighters if not THE best. It needs to be remade with modern graphics and some of the jank fixed, but the 6 groove and ratio system just gave the game an endless amount of replay ability. Sooo good!

I always used to write stories and draw pictures on who were the toughest fighters in these universes. For some reason I was always drawn more to the SNK games. The original Fatal Fury made you feel like the world you were in was alive.

in Chinese, the pronunciation of VS can kinda sound like “beat the crap out of”, so some Chinese gamers referred to the first game as Capcom beating the crap out of SNK characters due to balancing favoring Capcom and vice versa for the second. Extra fun fact.

CvS2 was and still is one of the best fighters. As a huge fan of KOF and SF, this game was a godsend. I loved Capcom's sprites of all the SNK characters and some of the new sprites of Capcom characters like Eagle and Maki. And that stk. Was so in love with that game

Great video, but you could have mentioned at some point the creator of almost every title included in that series Takashi Nishiyama. And how he was responsible for getting the series off the ground. As SNK was struggling financially at the time Takashi thought up the cross over and contacted Okamoto at Capcom and convinced him as he felt that it would be a win win for both companies (source: interview 1up presents issue 3) Of course we all know that Capcom would come out the bigger winner in the end of this. Also Takuma Sakazaki is called Mr.Karate as his fist game was Street Smart were he was known as Karate Man. Street Smart was SNK's second fighting game ever, and some of the music in Street Smart was featured in there next fighting game Fatal Fury.

One of the most standout features to me from the KOF and SF series were the music. Tones and melodies that gave you all you needed to know about the character, much like a film score. In fact, it's my only complaint against SFA3. Once Capcom started going for more EDM or Hip-Hop (Both perfectly fine styles of music) in general, getting away from character based themes, it was a downhill trend IMO.

Imagine that if the SNK vs Capcom Neo Geo Pocket color game that just came out on Nintendo Switch sold well enough that both companies made a Collection that included a HD Remix version that not only included the classic games in their OG versions but they took their time and made an Ultra Hyper version of CVS 2 that had all the characters and gameplay of CVS 2 but included all the stages of CVS 1 , 2 and even SvC Chaos linking all the stages and characters .....meaning you had all the beautiful stages of CVS 1 and 2 and remix updated versions of SvC chaos ....

You said to correct you if you were wrong… as far as “home” consoles, you are correct that this was the first fighter from Capcom on a Nintendo system, however, the GameBoy Color and the GameBoy Advance did each receive games from Capcom; Street Fighter Alpha came out on the GameBoy Color while Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Revival came out on the GameBoy Advance. So, you were sort of right… sort of wrong.

This series paved the way for both devs to show their stuff. No matter which platform. Loved CvS 1&2, never played the Neo Geo entry because it was difficult to find. SvC.. That is a sore spot. Funky gameplay, weird timing, music was hit and miss, and difficulty was insane. If CvS were to return.. That would be wild. But that's just a dream.

In the case of Morrigan,I can see where cats are comin' from as far as her looking dated.personally,it never bothered me.i could never be picky about animations whenever it came to 2-D fighters.possibly because I've always been a sucker for 2-D hand-drawn animation.besides,the same thing could be said about Marvel vs Capcom 2,as far as copy and paste characters.To me,Morrigan is still a blast to use in Capcom VS SNK Pro and Capcom VS SNK 2,as well as Marvel VS Capcom 2.However,if this kind of thing was still going on in the 3-D fighting games such as Marvel VS Capcom 3, Ultra Street Fighter 4,and Sfv,THEN,I would have a serious problem with it.

SvC Chaos was in fact rushed as the reviews said. The second deal Capcom and SNK made had a termination date after which the licensed characters from the other company could no longer be used. SNK, after all its trials and tribulations regaining control over its videogame properties, got a late start on development and asked Capcom to extend the license a few more months so that SNK could complete and polish the game. Capcom flat out refused. SNK has been bitter about this ever since.

As a teen over 25 years ago, I long to see a game featuring both Capcom & SNK fighters. Having owned Capcom vs SNK Pro & the Neo Geo Color game, it would be great to see another vs game with both companies' fighters. I doubt we're see one anytime soon however.

Hey man, I've never been to this channel before. I was excited to see a Capcom vs. SNK doc but this could've been done. There's *a lot* of unnecessary repetition. It makes absolutely no sense for you to give a "refresher" of the mechanics of previous game in the SAME VIDEO you just explained it. And you repeat on multiple smaller things as well, like reiterating on the hardware constraints, and art. Your audience isn't goldfish! And while the reviews are good for context, I don't think you really need to read a bunch of them verbatim, just give the overall consensus. I can appreciate being thorough but this video just seems bloated. Seems like you could've easily cut 15+mins of the runtime of this vid and not lose any substance. There is extra info I appreciate like SNK business in 2000, and learning that there was a Neo Geo release of SVC Chaos. I'm not trying to be mean or rude but I'm just letting know why my 1st impression of your channel through this video doesn't really have me excited to come back

Cheers for the feedback, but your criticism is due to the episode being an omnibus. It is 4 videos cut together to form one. I cut as much as I could for it to remain coherent. The length of the video means that RU-vid will push it to the moon and constantly suggest it for months. An algorithm exploit I am taking advantage of. @@TopHatGamingManChannel I like your videos, but lately I have not been coming back to your channel too much. Now seeing this explanation, I appreciate you being so transparent about your decision. But I wonder if this "length over compactness" approach was what turned me off lately. Drawing new spectators is one thing, keeping them is more important in the long run. The sequel is a better game from a gameplay perspective, of course. But I do like the presentation of the first game better. The tone, the stages, the music, etc. It's just quite a bit better. Although the aged Darkstalker and Alpha sprites are super disappointing compared to the more newly drawn ones.
