Cape Coast Castle: Trade, Christianity and Slavery 

To learn the history of Sweden's arrival and the castle's building in the 1650s, we went to the Cape Coast castle in Ghana. We learnt that by the 1660s, control of Cape Coast Castle had changed from Danish to Dutch to English. The English traders started looking for African captives in large numbers. Before then, trade in the early years of the castle focused on gold, wood, and textiles.
