Sailed through this area many times as an engineer on tankers in late 1960s and after all these years I can still feel the hellish vibration as the screw would lift out the water and the unloaded engine race!
Great impressive footage! Is it possible for me to use and share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards. Cheers.
Looks familiar, rounded this Cape in 71 aboard a destroyer. We usually liked gentle following seas, not these big rollers for sure. Cold cut and peanut butter sandwiches for 2 days.
That is a very rough crossing in a following sea, very hard to do. Huge waves breaking over the stern is a big worry. I've lost rudder control in similar conditions. Thank God for a gain screw vessel of it would have been sideways to the seas and all the hell that brings.
Down right awsome footage but Im Curious??😉😎👍 I see a massive cylinder way at the stern, is this my first view of a gas fueled vessel, most modern large gas fueled vessels have a large dedicated gas cylinder placed way back at the stern, or is the cylinder used only for the purpose of controlling the cargo
Yep they didn't make good preparation, a MARPOL surveyor would have a day, in the end there is also something else that's fallen to the sea, looks like a fire hose.
The sea took them.....probably to never be seen by humans in our lifetimes again as the ocean is so much bigger than anyone who has never sailed it realizes
They say above in a comment of a comment that is was in a steel bin that the wave ripped off the ship. However, they need a stronger and safer place for garbage, possibly inside.
@@michaelwestmoreland2530no it’s not. Shut up. We could dump trillions of tons of garbage into the ocean on purpose every year and it would still be fine. Nature sorts everything out. You think humans are more powerful than we actually are. That’s cuz most of you ecofash losers are complete and utter narcissists
