Hoping too plan a trip with the family sometime next year in our V8 D2.... one thing I know is I'll carry More jerry cans then necessary 🤣🤣

Haha sounds like a solid plan mate! Pretty sure they are a 70L tank in the D2’s yeah? You shouldn’t need more than an extra 10L at most, there’s fuel everywhere in the Cape. I don’t take jerry cans when I go.

@@Keithy_W 93L tank in the D2's....getting an average of about 450-500kms a tank 😳 300km when towing our camper 😅 But I blame the 4speed gearbox for that. Sitting at 2800rpm @110 just chews. An extra 2 gears would be perfect. But still no complaints from me I love it

Oh wow, I thought the V8 D2’s would have a similar ratio to the P38? I was around 2,500rpm at 110km/h off the GPS on the standard tyres in the P38. Lucky, with all the horse power in the disco she’d pull a trailer very nicely 😀

Great prep info!! Hope all is well. The sis and co are inland at the moment, got some pics from winton yesterday. Still a bit of a haul back to the GC for them.

Great run down mate. Can I just throw something else in there please. Lock your car and trailer. Don't leave valuables in plain site. We see so many having stuff stolen from their cars, tents, trailers, etc up here because they think that everyone is trustworthy. There's nothing worse than taking all those amazing photos on your camera, gopro, phone only to have some sticky-fingered flea steal it from you. All those memories are then lost.

Nice one Keithy, I like the backgrounds you are using now too. I'm still working towards getting up there this year but maybe short notice which could be an issue with accom. though it will just be my wife and I in the Rangie.
