Hello I am thinking about going to Capella for the same degree. I was wondering if you could show what the online platform looks like, and if the classes are test/exam heavy or writing eases heavy? Can you expand on your experiences with the guidance coursers, finance office, professors, acceptance procedures, how many classes per semester you take the overall price of each semester...? I know it's a lot but talking to the schools reps is very different than talking to someone who has actually gone through the process and has no affiliation with making the school look good. Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Carla, I hope I could address all of your inquiries. If you want to see what the online platform looks like send me an email to kgil1@Capellauniversity.edu that is my school email with Capella. I could share a screenshot there. In the first video was my first week now I am in the same first quarter except now I am in week 9 out of the 10th week. I am still maintaining my A average. This is also my second online school and Master's program. I would recommend it to anyone that needs flexibility but could also be disciplined. I feel like Capella is actually a better experience than my first online school and less expensive. I graduated from Walden University in 2012 for psychology. This quarter I am taking 1 class which ends on March 16th. Then we will have a 3 week break until Quarter 2 starts on April 10th. Each quarter is 10 weeks. In my second quarter I will have 2 classes just know that 1 class is 4 credits each and considered to be full time. I am in the Guide Path which means my classes are pre-set for the program. So far we have no test just reading, discussion assignments and in total about 3 to 4 papers which they call assignments. We are assigned an academic coach and facility advisor that are provided to support and guide us through our academic journey successfully. The professor I have is currently working in the same professional very good with providing feedback to help with improving on writing is needed. I receive financial aid so that helps but I am also working a full time job in the field. I love the fact that they say we are counselors in training which feels different than just taking classes passing and not being prepared for the next step which is to get a license. I am covering the basics there is another step to this. I think that is enough to cover and I will continue to share my experience during my quarters. I took my first class maybe the school wanted to see how well I performed academically because they are not in the business to just accept you take the money and not care if you finish or not. The process to apply is a checklist follow that then if and when you are accepted and decide to move forward feel free to email me. I might create a platform where online students could share their experiences to get out of fearing the online experience. Thank you for the inquiry please subscribe if you have not already to stay tuned to my updates. This school is wonderful and I am not getting any money to promote. I like to share information because I know how it feels to not have any idea what to expect. I looked for videos and did not find many. I hope my information helped you. Good luck on your school endeavor. Is this your first time going to school online and would it be your first masters program?

Thank you so much for your response. My apologies for taking so long to reply back I just figured out how to find my comments ☺️. You provided so much information I am extremely grateful for that and your time. I went to school online at GCU for my bachelor’s degree and I loved it. It was intense a lot of work but I did well in my studies. This will be my first time in a masters program. I tried liberty university online but there were so many unknowns and misleading information and things I had to withdraw before I could not get out of it and sink myself financially. I will keep you updated on things. My biggest hesitation with Capella is the way they charge for classes. Most schools charge per credit hour and they charge per credit semester or something crazy like that (I’ve never heard of it) but ultimately you’re in school longer and paying double the price for the same classes that schools who charge per credit hour charge. I’m not trying to waste or give away funds so that’s my biggest reason right now for not enrolling yet because I don’t have a clear understanding of the billing and why I’d essentially be paying double for my degree. Thank you again for the information and prayers to you and your endeavors.
