a lot of the capes he throws out in his combos have the subtle advantage of messing up his opponent's tech timing, allowing for an f-smash follow up.

Yeah that makes sense. It's not that much of a stretch for me to figure out why what he says is a good advice. I think my confusion comes from me not really being a competitor so therefore I don't really understand the competitor's mindset or how to play the game at an optimum level... if that makes sense. Wait, what's happening when n0ne is caping a tumbling character--does that force the character into an untechable state, or does the zero-knockback hitstun basically throw off tech timing?

Yeah I noticed that too. I also think that the person probably tries to tech the first move and pushes the L button and I believe there’s 20 frames before you can tech again. So even if you so hit the timing of the cape tech it won’t even be available. Biiiiig big brain
