I don't think Renova has to agree to lend her powers to the Pyro archon every time they are invoked. She simply gave a slice of her power to Xbalanqe and the Pyro archons have just been tapping into that every time it was needed. So I believe Capitano would in fact die if he were to take Mavuikas place to pay the price of death simply because it's the same power that cursed him in the first place and Renova won't be there to stop it from happening because she doesn't actively consent to her power being used in Natlan.

You know, i DO think Mavukia will die by the end of AQ but not in the basic meaning of death. For the last, what? 2 years or so, we've had the theme of Death = one time loss of memory, so i wonder if Mavuika's death will be her losing the memory of AT LEAST everything before she was reborn (so her family, time 500 years ago, friends etc) or maybe even everything at all. Also, now that It's quite likely that the curse of immortality DID come from Celestia/shade of death, i think the reason for it WAS in fact that a lot of Khaenri'ahns got exposed to the forbidden knowledge, so Celestia decided to avoid the Rukkha situation on the National scale by basically filtering the whole nation all together from the Ley Lines/Irminsul by not allowing them to die and go back to the ley lines. And honestly, thinking about it that way, it's hard for me to HATE them for it, cuz just from Rukkha's corruption, Sumeru had a bunch of Withering and the like. Imagine if the whole nation worth of Forbidden Knowledge got into Irminsul. Teyvat probably would have already been fully corrupted by the Abyss.

I just really want Capitano to be playable… But the red flags around him (rotting body, way taller model than any other character, masked, talking about death) make me think he’s gonna die. I REALLY hope we revive him if he dies. Because I want him playable so damn bad.

I can already see a "Rules are meant to be broken" moment in 5.3. All of the people within Natlan gets to channel their powers and will to The Traveler and in turn the Traveler channels it along with their hidden Descender powers to Mavuika which overwrites the rule imposed by Ronova and breaking it. And as for the end result Ronova wakes up sees what happened and goes "well I'll be damned they really did it" and turns a blind eye and boom onward to Schneznaya.

I’m 99.9% sure he’s Anfortas. Him not knowing Dain well doesn’t mean they’ve never met. Just that they didn’t really talk to each other. Also his “mission from the ruler of death” sounds intense. I wonder if the ruler of death is actually the one who created the curse of immortality, and if it can be removed by completing whatever “mission” Ronova gave them. Or if Ronova gave Capitano a personal mission and somehow met him after the cataclysm. It’s worth noting that Ronova may not have had a say in cursing the Khaenrians if she was the one to do it. It may have been a direct order from the heavenly principles. And her “mission” for Capitano could be to kill her jailer. Or to do something that will free his people from their curse,

The main thing keeping me from the Anfortas theory is why would the commander of half the knights never have met the commander of the other half? You'd think there'd be like... debriefings and coordination and such.

Btw at some point in the Archon Quest (sorry can't remember the bit but it centres around Capitano) you get an Achievement called *The General in His Labyrinth* which seems to be a reference to a real world leader, the book is a mockery of him, Genshin usually flips things though but the guy wants to leave after giving up his leadership to someone else, he journeys with friends (people from his administration), getting more ill with time and he never leaves the country because they never get his passport. I read a short summary so I presume he dies too. The illness bit could be a reference too Capitano's situation physically, another thing is people wanted him back as the leader so that could be a reference to the fact people haven't given up on Khaenri'ah.

Hear me out: What if Ronova doing so much to help Natlan is less about charity and more about redemption? Perhaps she was forced by the Heavenly Principles to curse Khaenri'ah and helping Natlan was a way to ease her conscience, which would explain why a seemingly benevolent and humanity-loving Goddess would do something so terrible.

13:00 the more I think about it, it's the traveller than will end up being the next Pyro Archon. It just kinda makes sense with the way the story has been going.

I think the curse of Immortality is what the Lord meant when she says that he's been sent on a journey by Ronova. The curse probably works like how you grind down chalk overtime. It's still there but it has lost it's original form. Time will grind their body and mind until there's nothing left but dust, The traveller being made an exception is to ensure their safety, even if they get an ancient name there's no guarantee they'll. be allowed to enter the pilgrimage. I think the final For Capitano's talking about is either the abyss (due to his personal goal) Or Celestia (his final battle under the Tsaritsa)

The only issue I have with this theory is that if it turns out to be right and Capitano sacrifices himself in Mavuika’s place, it means he won’t be playable. I simply can’t handle that

One problem I see with the idea of the paradox is that, in the final part of the quest, when we see the dialogue between Xbalanque and Ronova, it said that "if the pyro archon can't defeat their fear to death, then the price will be paid by other people instead of the archon", establishing that the option of basically killing the rest of the people of Natlan as the price is available to Ronova. Faced with the paradox of trying to kill a cursed inmortal, the Shade could simply instead kill the people of Natlan as payment. My crack theory with a possible Capitano Pyro Archon would be, him using that same superattack, but on Ronova herself. After all, Mavuika said it's a power "beyond any Archon" and since it comes from the Shade, it should have the power to "kill" the Shade. And with Ronova "dead", no one could claim any debt...

There was one part towards the middle of the archon quest where someone mentions "capitanos sovereign"... wondering if the Tsaritsa is just a bitter old dragon with a grudge...

i feel like capitano being anfortas has so many evidences and matches so perfectly that the few inconsistencies are irrelevant and have easy explanations, like-- if he isn't anfortas than who could he be? And why would they just make a new character when they already recently introduced a new Khaenri'ahn that have never been previously mentioned before (peruere)

This is interesting. I like this interpretation of how Mavuika will avoid death. My guess was that Archonhood would be passed to the Traveler and the Traveler would die but be resurrected by their ancient name and then Archonhood returned to Mavuika. I'm sure both Traveler and Capitano will play a role, but I can't wrap my head around a way in which they will both be involved. Unrelated but seeing how powerful and dangerous Abyssal corruption is, it's really no small wonder the Fatui recruited Kunikuzushi. It comes to mind because I don't think even Capitano is able to withstand Abyssal corruption. It HAS to be Traveler and Mavuika alone. Or Capitano if they are Archon. The problem I think is that Mavuika already has the death sentence. You could argue it's the "divine throne" instead... but then isn't that too close to Fontaine's story? I'm unsure.

If you're right and capitano is after ronova(and she's behind the curse), when he wins he'll find death himself if the curse is then broken. (which mean of course he wont be playable) My feeling is that the curse is actually a higher reality override than even the powers of the shades though. Given that the second who came was equally powered to the primordial one, it makes more sense that that entity is responsible(or one of the sinners when they each gained part of the power of the second who came but thats another cracked theory where they "ate" portions of the body of the slain second who came). The angel that was marrying the outsider, it also more possible now that that outsider WAS the third descender and whatever dark plan that was hatched both devolved the seelies and broke the descender apart. Where the goddess of flowers fits in here I dont know but she wasnt devolved in that event she's the only one who wasnt.

Interesting I took that line to mean that he himself also made a deal with Ronova and she sent him on his way. My idea for that scenario is that the final foe he’s alluding to is something probably saved more for post-Snez - any of the Great Sinners. Basically, he would use Ronova’s power to bring down the Sinner he was fighting down to the level of himself and the rest of humanity. No more godbreaking power - just a man/woman who took something that they shouldn’t have and one of the victims of their inaction simply giving em their just desserts. Of course, Capitano would then die to fulfill the pact - something he’s been probably wanting for 500 long years.

If Kanriah is in a corner of the world where the gods gaze doesn’t fall upon, wouldn’t that imply that there isn’t any ley lines in Kanreah. Natlan has proved that the ley lines are where the dead go, their memories go to Irminsul. Also Arleccino states that erasing memories is like killing someone. All this being said wouldn’t it make sense that Kanriahns are immortal because they don’t have ley lines?

To me I think the curse doesn’t actually denies death but just extends the stay of the soul/mind in a way that the consciousness doesn’t leave it essentially tethering it to an already dead corpse

I really enjoyed this cracked theory. But i want to remind something. Ronova says “If those who wields her power fears death, the others should die only then the debt will be cleared”. So i think if capitano becomes the archon, Ronova may still technically can target mavuika snd others because even though captain doesn’t fear death he can’t die, so Ronova takes others death as price. MY SPECULATION Mavuika and Traveler goes to the night kingdom and wipes off abyss, Ronova takes life off mavuika, we get the gnosis.. and mavuika revived through ode of resurrection ( we won the final night warden war ). And give back the archonhood to mavuika

i just want to point out that there could be a possibility of him being somehow connected to alberich, still. he can be the commander, given that he's immediately taken over the role of the tsaritsa's fatui as the captain, no less. i can't see him being a random npc or a simple knight when his prime can even rival that of an archon. he is surely part of that four.

Capitano doing that is in line with Focalors did to fool the heavenly principles and it's completely in line with the plot of the game, the bigger plot. I also want to ask have you completely abandoned the idea that he also is the bloodstained knight? Perhaps some of the knights in Mondstadt were recruited to Khaenri'ah something a certain bard might have information on. You also have a connection between Natlan and Mondstadt in form of Venessa just a thought perhaps Capitano was one of the slaves that was recruited his story would go back to basically the beginning if that is the case. In our history he would be the equivalent of Spartacus and I just think Genshin would greatly appeal to having a character like that in their game. You would have this connection with the region similar to Arlecchino and Fontaine, she has a different heritage but hold Fontaine in high regard, perhaps Capitano has a similar relationship with Natlan

Wild wishful theory I have, every Archon released in patch x.2 (or Raiden sooner), but Mavuika will not. So maybe she will actually die in 5.3 and Traveler gets "the leader" ancient name and finally gets to use pyro ...as a new Pyro Archon. But it's way more probable that Traveler just saves Mavuika and then be able to use pyro, coz night kingdom and therefore Natlan will be finally saved from Abyss. After 5.1 I just have hopes that crazy (risky) stuff is gonna finally start happening in story, pretty sure there's already Mavuika's kit leaks so unlikely she will die, if hoyoverse somehow had the balls to kill a (non-npc) characters in Genshin.

I really just dont like the idea of capitano becoming the pyro archon, and im only basing my opinion due to the trailer, it feels like its mavuika's moment, all our perception has been focused on macuika during the story so for capitano to suddenly take the leading role after building up mavuika's arc it feels a bit too fast? Its going to be hard to create that anticipation when switiching perspectives, i personally think its going to be mavuika and its definitely going to be about mavuika considering it is meant to be her arc like how it was furina's, zhongli and venti, i feel like capitano is just like dvalin to where he could get his own arc but not shadowing the main focus of the archon

This sounds like crack theory that is overly complicated and makes sense... but somehow, I think the end result will be something much easier to explain to the layman, as disappointing as it may sound.

I think the goal of Capitano here are: 1. Face Death; 2. Die, ending his curse of immortality. He can achieve these two regarless of the outcome of his decisions: once Capitano challenged Mavuika in the endless ring of war (probably on 5.3 when we have the Mare Jivari Map), if he wins, Mavuika dies and he can face Death and die in Ronova's hands. If he loses, Mavuika will "burn bright" while Capitano "will turn to ash", achieving his long longed death. Remember, it seems he mad3 his move towards Natlan after Señora's death. I think he might have thought of Señora death as the other option to end his suffering. While no one in Teyvat can kill him, he must have made his way to Natlan thinking about Ronova's ability to end his life by using the "paradox" in the rule of Death. My mind is all over the place so I think I'm not really explaining my thoughts clearly.
