great video as usual, i enjoy your content. trying to get better doing queda de rins. to become more comfortable with elbow close to myside and balance my weight. I like the details of elbow placement in your video about the au de cabeca.

Nice! Thanks for the comment. I actually recently recorded a quede de rins tutorial recently, and will be releasing it within the next couple of weeks. It might help. I really appreciate you sharing!

Gostei de muito, brigada pelo vídeo! I like the way you build up to it and your variations. I am trying to work on macaco em pé! It of course only looks like a backwards cartwheel 🙄 one day kkkkkkkkk

Great video! I like the entry from negativa, flowing into another negativa. =) I know it sounds basic, but I'm struggling with my form on meia lua de compasso. I have an acrobatics background, so it feel strange to struggle on such a common kick, but it's much more complex than it looks. I'm liking the challenge though. Just can't reliably enter the move if I'm thinking too hard about it.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, that Meia Lua is a bit of a pain, because there aren't many other movements in other disciplines that require your head to go down like that. I also find that people have a hard time continuing the full rotation to land back to the ginga base. I might make some short tutorials breaking down the basic kicks in the future. Two important things I'd say for that kick, which I'm reprogramming myself on, are to be sure you tuck your chin in and keep your head between your arms as you dip your head down (I tend to stick it out to look sideways as I'm coming out of the move, which leaves me vulnerable) and be sure to come up with your elbow up protecting your face. It's too easy to get kicked in the face if you don't do that. Anyway, I can get windy on these messages! Thanks for sharing bud, I really appreciate the kind words and support. Let me know if I can help with anything else on your capoeira journey. Axe!

that's good advice. My class is tomorrow, I'll try that. I think I'm honestly just psyching myself out about it. But I know good form takes a lot of time and work. Axé!

That's a great idea of something to share. I think I'll work on some short clips of drills for that soon. In the meantime, I'd recommend doing. Those are a good place to start - hold them for 10 seconds at a time if they are very challenging and then build up the amount of time.

Kapil Sharma Hey Kapil - thanks for the message. I don't speak Hindi, but I believe the answer to your questions is - I live in Atlanta USA, where I've been studying capoeira for 5 yrs now.

Thanks for the vid. I'm having issues with the Meia lua
@CapoeiraTrainingClub
@CapoeiraTrainingClub 8 лет назад
Thanks for the comment - so which meia lua are you talking about - there's lots of those. :) Meia Lua de Frente, de compasso... Actually, those are the only two I can think off. Is it the spinning kick that comes from the back while you dip your head, or the one you do facing forward and kick in a circular motion from the outside in?
@j.tatianaramos3440

Meia Lua de Frente :(
@CapoeiraTrainingClub
@CapoeiraTrainingClub 8 лет назад
Aaaah - those can be tricky. You have to have enough leg and ab strength to lift the leg high while keeping it straight, then you have to worry about keeping your body balanced through the motion by using your arms as counter weights to your leg, and finally you must bring the leg back into the base without tripping over your other leg. It's a lot! Don't get discouraged though. We all grow in capoeira on our own time. Capoeira has forced me to learn patience and perseverance - to keep working on a move, even if the progress is meager. You'll get there.

What is the move called where you put your head on the floor, and just "walk around your head" and stay low when doing so
@wildmantis1
@wildmantis1 8 лет назад
Yam Yan I think it's called "curropio de cabeça"....not sure tho. it also depends on the group. a lot of groups use different names for each movement

Thanks for the comment! I'm curious, because I'm thinking about doing some tutorials for beginners, what moves are you working on? What would be useful for you to see in the channel?
@jijadelmais
@jijadelmais 8 лет назад
Thanks makakinho :) !! Well i believe some sequences with basic kicks and esquivas can be great, as a practice and to develop power, but in my case i am struggling with QDR, but i suppose is lack of strength in my arms and balance. Nice if you can make a tutorial on QDR, with drills and little secrets about the correct technic. You already have a video, i believe is a tutorial about volta por cima, where you give a short introduction on QDR, but amazing if you can take your time and make longer video, kind of for dummies hahaha, abrazos.

+jijadelmais thanks for the insightful feedback. I'm starting to think it might be good to do some sequences for beginners to help build up to the more intermediate sequences on the channel. You are also in luck, I recorded a QDR video, which I'll be releasing within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it helps. Thanks you so much for taking the time to share! Good luck with your training!

Thanks for sharing! That's a really tough move - I remember being super impressed the first time I saw someone do it, and it took me several months and one massive neck ache before I got it. Haha! It's worth it though. I'm sure probably already know, but there's a tutorial on my channel that might help you a bit. Good luck and axe!

Not working on anything at the moment after injuring my knee from a very poor au sem mao
@CapoeiraTrainingClub
@CapoeiraTrainingClub 8 лет назад
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough to sit out after an injury. I was there at the beginning of the year. Nothing serious, just an ankle video. I forced myself to still come to class and practice music. I recommend being patient and making sure you give yourself time to heal. Listen to your body as you back into practicing. Don't push yourself too hard if your knee tells you not to keep going. I've seen many extend their healing process by months, because they are too stubborn to sit out for a little bit longer. I wish you quick healing. Thanks for sharing. Axe!
@AriiMoose
@AriiMoose 8 лет назад
Yeah, I learned the hard way not to push myself. Instead of sitting out I trained for a couple more weeks. Practicing music is definitely a good way to pass the time!
