Kinda forgot how cold this album was. Used to put Halfway Thugs and Neva Die Alone on in the ride to bump quite a bit. Never really knew Capone wasn't really on the album until a few years ago. Didn't know who was who until Nore's album came out later. Also used to skip Thug Paradise and LA LA. Never cared for those tracks.

He sounds like he trying to bite P style. Maybe I’m tripping and should relisten and retune my ears but, his style feels like it’s trying to copy Prodigy but is too forced. Idk 🤷🏽‍♂️ Matter fact the whole album sounds like it’s tryna be M.O.B.B and I know that Mobb Deep was on here too but Copano N Nore shoulda did they own thing instead of flowing off of what Mobb Deep had going. Still respect it as an underground classic regardless.
@chronichigh

@Instrumentals-ge8yg Nah, they weren't copying. Around that time, Queensbridge had a particularly unique sound. Almost everyone who came from there had a similar rhymne flow, slang, style etc. Sheeeit Nas, Mobb deep, CNN fell from Tragedy's tree. Nas definitely had Some Cormega and Kool g rap in him as well he spent alot of time around G rap and large professor in his early yrs rapping

If you watch the Drink Champs episode with CNN and Tragedy they tell the whole story on how the album was made. Capone was there from the start, Trag thought Capone was the new Nas and wanted him to come out solo. Capone wanted to wait for Nore to get out of jail and rap with him. When they did a few songs Capone got locked up and Trag took over to help out, then Capone got out and they did Pone love and a few more songs and finished.
@trizzmatic413
@trizzmatic413 11 месяцев назад
Capone was on “Stick You”, that story track that you liked, early in the album. The 3rd song & Never Die Alone. You just didn’t recognize him until “T.O.N.Y.”. It’s all good though. Oh yeah, Tragedy produced a lot of this album. Most of it, if I remember correctly. And that was Nas’s brother, Jungle on that, Capone Phone Home(skit). This era was when QB was all pretty much getting along. But they fell out with Tragedy during the process, the song “Half Way Thug” is Nore going at Tragedy. Nore was going at him a lot on mixtapes back then. It was a great time to be alive. I was 15, and we were bumping this album on the block everyday. 💯✌🏾👑

Yo, the reason why you comparing it to Mobb Deep is because Havoc from Mobb Deep produced a lot of the tracks on this album, which makes sense given that they were all from the same hood and from the same era of hip hop. Queens Bridge is known as the place where hip hop stars were born and it is big facts. Also Capone was featured on a couple of tracks before you really noticed it, still Tragedy was the anchor of the album. Still remains a hip hop underrated classic album. Glad you got to experience it

If you were gettin it out the mud in any urban land in the late 90s The War Report was your fuel, this shit got you ready for war every day. This album was the beginning of a fire ass run for Nore, and CNN was one of the hottest things in hip-hop when this dropped. I'ma leave the last breadcrumb, Tragedy Khadafi's best album and one of the illest albums of the last 20 years - Black Market Militia. That live long live on beat is sick! It has a medieval era vibe.

Iraq is that s**t. My favorite track. That is a hip hop classic, not necessarily cause of super lyrical, but the gritty new york raps and the beats, man classic right here.

Tragedy used to go by intelligent hoodlum. He had songs like black and proud and impeach the president. And grand groove was a big song too

This is the return of the 5%ers era. 5%ers ruled rap again in the 90s. We're going to do it again soon. Knowledge is The Foundation/The Crown of my Nation./

The names on the credits is all about publishing checks! Trag name is on every joint cause he was jerking them by getting a writers check for every song and Nore expressed his problem with this on Drink Champs it’s worth watching now you’ve heard the album

If you love Tragedy, check out the song he did on Marley Marl's album called Live Motivator. It definitely played a huge part in the birth of Queensbridge rapping
