Torx a trademark of Textron Inc. And Pozidriv is actually a trademark of the Phillips Screw Company. It's interesting that over in America Phillips recess is still in use instead of the improved version "Pozidriv". In Europe most Phillips screws are replaced by Pozidriv: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/70/Poziphillipscompr.jpg upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/Pozidriv_screw.jpg The size system is the same as Phillips recess, but instead of PH there's PZ, for example PZ 0, PZ 1, PZ 2, PZ 3 and so on. Robertson (square head) is totally uncommon here. Alternatives are metric hex or Torx. The Torx sizes are the same as they are in use in the US (10, 15, 20, 30 and so on).
Correct, here in Germany every 2-pole voltage tester is a "Duspol" (trademark of the manufacturer Benning), even when it's made by another company (Fluke for example) www.benning.de/files/benning/global_content/content/news/powernews/2013_12/duspol_generation_2013/duspol_generation_2013.jpg cdn-reichelt.de/bilder/web/xxl_ws/D100/FLUKE_T130_03.png
I just bought mine after agonizing over to get this kit and be done with it or get the tekton ones since I am invested in tekton and have a lot of overlapping and pay more. I finally chose these today because capri gave me a coupon and discount code for them due to memorial day and the automated (we saw you looking) email. For $165 bucks I got this kit and their bottle opener. I was pretty happy with that deal considering that's 35 bucks off listed and a bonus 10 dollar bottle opener wrench.
MD, I’ve been watching your videos behind the scenes laying low not ever commenting and enjoying them more and more... I just wanted to note I own this set, I purchased it on amazon. As of right now MANY, not all, prices have risen on Capri tools, I don’t know if it’s a tactic used as we get into better weather in the states but I purchased this set for $110 around Christmas and couldn’t pass them up after seeing what great deals you can get on the “Capri Master Sets”. I’ve seen this particular set average $129. Even looking into Gearwrench or any Tekton etc that I myself own, mainly offshore Taiwan tools...are SO much higher at the moment on Amazon. Just a note to anyone interested in this set, I follow Capri prices regularly and I couldn’t agree more with what MD said, there are many of comparable quality at the same price (at the moment), so if you’re willing to shell out the $200 on these, shop around... I have nothing bad to say about these tools or any Capri for that matter. I wrench daily and the S2 steel that these are made of seems to be the real deal. Keep up the good work MD!
Amazon adjusts prices upward based on demand - it is a back end auto process that monitors units sold over time and when things pick up the prices adjust to slow the unts being sold and to ensure that Amazon is priced similar to the rest of the market.
mdlee52 It’s funny you say that, Oddly right around Christmas Capri put out (again on amazon) where I do a lot of my tool shopping... many of their tools that really weren’t available unless you looked them up in their promotional catalog. Then they disappeared. Kevin seems to be on track with what amazon does with their prices etc and could probably chime in on this... so You’ll see Capri (sold by and fulfilled by amazon) and it will say something like 237 on hand... once they are gone they are gone and maybe will return or maybe never to be seen again , so maybe they throw a few hundred out there and see how well they do with a particular product and then all of the sudden BAM they are sold out and you can’t find them... so when you posted this video I was kind of in shock because sure enough they are back on the market again BUT at a very inflated price as to what I purchased them for. Sorry if this message is skewed and not coming across exactly how It should be worded lol, compressor in the background filling, brake fluid dripping from 4 brake hoses and I’m trying to figure out which calipers are for the back or front and which are for the drivers and passengers side of this damn truck. Lastly it sort of coincides with what Kevin said, it may also be they put a test run out there at a price, they sell like hot cakes and are gone and then a few month later they bring them back and are more inline with the rest of the market.
Be a great terminating kit for an electrician working in large switch-gears. As an industrial electrician i might have to save up a few pesos and look into getting this. But I’m pretty cheap too. $200 is a lot of money when you’re raising 2 girls on a single income. Thanks for the great review and sound advice. I love that you take into consideration the fact of use and quality vs price. I get tired of seeing so many others trying to convince DIYers that they need to buy $500 wrench sets. Would it be nice to have them, YES, but does somebody who likes to build/fix shit at need them, HELL NAH! Lol See ya on the next one boss
Very nice expansive kit they sent you. I think it’s nice to have a couple of these kits . I have broke some of these in the past and needing another socket of the same size, it sucks when work stops because it’s the only one you had. Great review .
That set you got us an absolute steal at that price! I was going to order one for a giveaway, but then I saw they were only for Prime members at that price.
@@mdlee52 You can get them at home depot and you can also create a troll email to get $15 off a new prime account with (I use a trial) when you purchase $30 or more.
That's a very comprehensive kit👍🔧 it has most bits you'll need like the long reach bits for head bolts. I bought most my bit sockets sets as i need them all made in Taiwan with S2 steel. So if you're removing cylinder heads I'd add long triple squares.
Great video thanks brother. I will see what I can put the one set through. I will be doing the update. I would probably buy the set if I really need it. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother
Alot of great points and price comparisons, i do like their price tag on smaller sets (14-25 bucks a set) and i have NOT been impressed with napas monthly sale prices on anything/brand lately. I think bits are better than blue point, and yeah their 87 bp set is better part of 350, and trucks usually have to order bp individual peices in. On side note the short and long T55 do hold up well on 1/2" air impact test ;)
Funny on the timing of this video.. went to change the cabin air filter on my truck tonight and didn’t have the right size torx bit to take out the glove box i was gonna go to Napa but this seems like a quality set
Bit socket sets in general are very handy to have. For some reason I always wear out my t25 torx bit. Maybe someone should make a kit with multiple of the common sizes used
Hello sir that looks like a great set. My first set I bought at my home town Sears I wanted to do my breaks on my Jeep so I ordered a sae set an found that the set was to small so I called my guy at Napa Tom he turns out has a Jeep and told me they are 11mm so I ordered that and it's a badass looking socket a Carlyle. I guess my point is that the Craftsman and gearwrench the hex drive isn't the same as the socket the Carlyle is a 11mm hex and the socket is a press fit 11mm, the other two, like a 11mm the hex is in a 10mm socket and the hex it's self stepped up to 11mm so most of the sockets are like 10mm 1/4 or 3/8 then they step up or down on the hex its self to size.which I don't like, I can understand it on the real small sizes but not on the larger, I hope that made sense I don't have Capri, they look great
That makes total sense. I'm with you: I want a bit that is true to size throughout. I have some Craftsman Evolv and they okay for the money, but not in the league of Capri or Carlyle.
advanced has the 40pc gearwrench set of 1/4 and 3/8 doesnt have the fatty hex dogs or long ones but its only 40pc and on sale at advanced auto for only $29.99 shipped id be happy to buy a set of long balls hex and fatty half in hex sockets for under $100 I bet.
We have very alike minds ive noticed from your videos and suggestions... Good stuff, removing the 4x4 hubs from toyotas and a lot of others require large sized hex to get the bolts out. Its called frugal not cheap lol.
You sould really check it out use the search function of the site and type in gear wrench to see everything the 3/8 universal socket set is only $20 and 17.49 for sae, on the site they have a 30% off code right now and then anoter offer of $30 off $80 I havent submitted my order to confirm which discounts will be applied.
