Everything about you and your channel is very sweet ❤ I am currently becoming a minimalist myself and watching your videos is refreshing and inspiring!!
Hi Jessica..a recent subscriber here; a major dog lover with an hourglass shape who also loves high-waisted straight jeans, long sleeves, who only owns one crossbody bag and one rucksack bag and prefers to use no bag if possible. I also love to have a book close to hand esp when travelling! This video was great...looking forward to more.
Jessica, I love you and your content! I'm not sure if it's just me or my computer sound, but I'm having a really hard time hearing your voice over the background music. Turning my sound up doesn't help. This has happened with all your videos that I've watched. Just thought I'd let you know.
Kim Myers thanks Kim! It sounded ok when I listened back on my laptop but I’ll try it on another to check for the next video. Thanks for letting me know x
@@JessicaRoseWilliams You could play it for the first few seconds to help set the mood, and then fade it out completely. (That’s what I do in my videos.) You’ve got good content. Don’t need music all the way through! :)
I work in an office so I have sort of 2 capsule wardrobes, each one is very different to the other - my home clothes are very casual (jeans and sweaters) and my work wardrobe is plain shirts and a few pairs of trousers and a couple of dresses, I can mix and match the shirts and the trousers as I went with simple colours. If I need something a bit smarter for something out of work - like a christening etc I’ll just wear a dress from my work side!
Lucy Clarke balancing work and home is a funny one isn’t it. I know lots of people who blend both wardrobes and lots who keep them separate too. I think whatever works best for you is what’s right. Sounds like you’ve nailed it 🙌🏻
I’m so glad to chance upon you here on RU-vid, i had to subscribe as soon as I saw your choice of outfits as I see my younger self in terms of outfit choices.. and still to this day DO Dress my self like this... appreciate your low keyness and minimalism ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@JessicaRoseWilliams i did, its such a classic style and i love that colour, you might have gotten into trouble wearing the cream one hey? i really want to get myself one but im trying not to buy any clothes atm, i may just have to break that rule. its not too expensive is it, can you tell i really like it!?
Mrssupermum ha ha but risky. Emma is super laid back so I don’t think she’d have minded but I would never go to a wedding in cream or white. It’s a beautiful dress. Really looking forward to wearing it again this year.
Love your style and outfits. it's so hard to concentrate with your pup their stealing the show!! I have a Cav but he lives with my mum in England. He's so precious too. They are so loving.
Lovely video! I would so value a video on your advice on getting through the first bit of time after deciding to stop clothes shopping! How did you cope? Lol sounds so dramatic but there it is. :) Thank you!
dnilla xx will add it to the list of video ideas. Thank you. The main thing that got me through was switching my mindset and building awareness around how consumerism actually worked, why I was shopping and how it was hindering not helping me x
Love your dog x I have a king charles blenheim. But used to have a cocker cross king charles who looked very similar and same colour as yours. Is yours a king charles? Mine is called poppy and does same with her tongue just like yours x i just spent whole time looking at your dog x lol Your outfit styles are lovely x very similar to how my daughter dresses. And at 59 I'm embracing this minimalist approach x
Thanks for the inspiration. I was wondering: Do you find that with minimalism that you get bored of the clothes faster: because over-wear occurs sooner? I'm interested but I dont know if it pasy off is I'd want to change them out way faster, or if it would be disappointing to get bored of favourite pieces fast? ... I do find we also get bored of clothes be bought 'too much', i.e. that we didn't need and never worse them and got bored before we even proper got a start on wearing them. Anybody know what I mean?
I know exactly what you mean, I used to get bored with purchase errors so quickly, and I'd force myself to wear them out of guilt 🙈 When I read Marie Kondo's book, I realised I was just stubbornly allowing the error to continue bothering me. Why would I punish myself that way? I've learnt from the mistake, time to say bye bye to the item and pass it on before I damage it and no one else can enjoy it! From my experience with a capsule, I can't say I tire of my favourite clothes (but I do have a bit more than Jessica does I think, mainly because seasons here in France are a bit more dramatic). I realised I was wearing mainly my favourite clothes before anyway, for example on holiday and so on. I really like swapping my clothes around seasonally though, I'm so glad to change the look of what I go through every morning! I love to have different colour palettes for example, and that's achievable by just having a couple different t-shirts and swapping out a dress!
I find the opposite, it's bizarre. I think intentionally owning less has allowed me to discover what it is I actually like because I'm more conscious about what's going in my wardrobe. If I do get bored then I just swap something out. The goal for me is to love and wear everything instead of owning a load of stuff and only wearing a fraction of it like I used to. Hope that makes sense.
I personally have found items that I invest time to wait before purchasing (“good buys”) I never get tired of infant it’s fun to continue to find new ways to wear items (like with new accessories). It’s those impulse purchase errors that I get tired of quickly. Just take your time when purchasing items 💕
Agree! I simply had done a lot of that and the extreme declutter lead to that 'click point' Konmari says in that book.. and so I thought i felt comfortable with that when I posed the auestion. I have received some ansers from life so far I will be sharing them on my channel, but I have yet to go through all things and see if tht changes the amount. Because shortly after the move and extreme declutter, I had sen this as minimalistic and now I have grown through seeing it as nromal to still being obverwhelmed by the anmount of clothes and it all just so depends on what we define by "much"! I've been inspired by simplistic videos like this one and also another girl on here... not sure i remember the name right.. I have also grown s=to seeing the value in simplicity and would love to incorporate some of that into my stule and have begunt to do so: In fact yesterday I was lead to this beautiful dress adn its so so pretty i felt like a million bucks and am wearing it today and the cool part it was 2£! THANK GOD. So my quarrels are like i did let go of guilt items and it wasnt those mistake ourchases, it was things i thought i loved (am replying all of you here in one lol - also would like to just let your words sink in and see if and when they come to fruitioin when its ripe you know..) But some of theese was stuff i thought i loved that i grew bored from simply from the overshopping as my soul knew before i accepted it wilingly that I'd had too much! Enough! Haha. Well maybe that was the same as you (this girl) meant! So in any case, a lot of them.. well what i have keot i still love and am not sure I'll make a start.. Because they are still loved pieces, ita also not a lot compared to what some own but in the small side of the wardrobe thats mine its still a lot and then I have one drawer in a dresser and it also is great but its also not always a lot in itself for example not a lot of winter jumpers, but then altogether its a lot and I'd like it to be managable. I am yet to try those methoeds i found and will share here so i cant speak on where it will lead me as this comment it=s a couple days old but... THank you so much for the replies, I'll keep letting the words sink in!!
@@JessicaRoseWilliams 8O :O Oh I see, all right.. I recently bought these two bags.. they were normally too small for me but one day i wore one of them and left my purse at hime and i like the feeling the flexibility of it ( cant lie, Christ or God lead me to that bag im not kidding and the day before yesterday i had a random encounter with a stranger who commented on my bag albeit a diferent bag but she told me the same hing as you guys: that she never gets bored and you live the items even more when you selective them... and I was wearing a dress i got alongside the bags... Just sharing, It was so cool cus we were strangers but it felt like we knew each other, all the points came up you guys mentioned on here to me... anyway. oh yeah dresses nowadays also have pockets and my keys used to poke me in mhy pockets but not everybody i guess.
