i noticed that villain characters do tend to get the short end of the stick a lot when it comes to Marvel Legends, this Zemo, Deluxe Thanos, Lady Deathstrike, Loki, the newly announced Madame Hydra using an older female body when in the same wave they're using the newer one for Maria Hill/Quake. It's a bit odd, a hero is only as good as their villains.
Thanks to you good sir, I'll be getting my Zemo and classic Dr. Strange very soon! After watching your tour of Sonner Toy Store, I visited their site and ordered them! Because I live in the states, we don't have those figures out yet. Plus I am impatient lol! So thank you!
So glad I never found the 80th Cap. THIS is Captain America Totally passing on pointy head Tony and bad haircut Bruce. My AI Ironman and 80th Hulk are definitive
I still firmly believe they should have given us a second normal shield and gotten rid of the electric effect and the useless Marvel Legends base. Btw, the faces for all the figures in this wave were sculpted by the amazing Paul Harding. Great review, appreciate the honesty about the pricing too. It really does feel like they're charging a bit too much by adding a bunch of stuff no one's gonna really use.
@@momsberettas9576 As part of my effort to trim back my collecting (price rises being what they are), I've decided that I'm not purchasing any figures that aren't pinless and providing exceptional value.
Hey Dave! I just have one question, will you be getting rid or your 80th anniversary captain America now that you have this 20th anniversary figure? or will you get rid of the 20th anniversary, or keep both? Just curious.
At the end of the first issue of the original Thunderbolts series, Citizen V takes of his mask and puts the Zemo mask on. Does the new Zemo head fit on that body? That’s a cool photo idea.
You know that the shoulder straps should only be used when the shield is on his back, to simulate that the shield is strapped to his back. Looks dumb minus the shield. Helmut Zemo is the leader of the 4th incarnation of the Masters of evil, his alter ego citizen V is in charge of the T-Bolts. Sorry, I'm extremely into detail and accuracy.
Many make the mistake of thinking those straps are from his shield when actually they are a separate piece that holds the magnet which his shield attaches to.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour in the comics, they are actually straps attached to the shield, especially based on this classic 70s-80s look the figure is sporting. In the MCU they are magnetized.
The only 20th Anniversary figure I don't need is Iron Man. I have Wolf Cap but he's super simple, the only Hulk I have is Maestro, and everybody needs Toad. Great video as always.
Adam Brasher has finally arrived after being left off the list of Marvel figures for yrs...should've been released w/ one of the few F.F. waves. Long Overdue...🍻
I just found Zemo at my local Walgreens! I immediately picked him up and I love it! It also reminded me about how much I miss the original packaging lol.
I don't think those holes in the shield are a problem. You could fill them in with some putty, and paint the putty silver to make it look like missing paint/damage.
For most people are on Earth it has not arrived, amazingly the UK is seemingly getting things ahead of a lot of others! I was not able to get the Doctor Strange for example except from Taiwan or something over Ebay.
@@aFoxyFox. dang. Are you referring to the classic Dr. Strange? That’s the one I want along with Cap. I’m trying to get a classic Avengers comic look going on
@@Mattyboy-dn4oo Yeah! I pre-ordered 20th Anniversary Captain America, Iron Man, and The Hulk from Big Bad Toy Store, and Classic Doctor Strange and Baron Zemo from Ebay that had them for Pre-Order as well, though the Strange shipped immediately, the others haven't been sent yet. I liked that all their sort of retro and dated appearances seemed to fit well with each other and also look like some famous actors popular in different past periods. Doctor Strange sort of looks like Tom Selleck, even though I like to imagine Doctor Strange speaking like Vincent Price, and the others also resemble various actors or mixtures of various actors sometimes, which adds a fun sort of historical element for me in another way besides their hair styles and specific designs from certain periods in the comic art. I might want to get this new Thor figure that is coming out, the Ragnarok one, to use as a Thor possibly, even though I have various Thor figures that I like which could work. I like to possibly couple Doctor Strange with Ghost Rider and maybe some of the street characters like Daredevil and Iron Fist, oh yeah and Blade. Then I have Nick Fury and The Punisher who I like to have as sort of military machine gun type figures, and U.S. Agent as well. I don't have a Bucky or Winter Soldier figure I think. I do have a Black Panther figure and a maybe more classic looking Ant-Man as well, and then Reed in the Lab Coat, but the only fitting Spider-Man I may have is the new What If? Zombie Hunter one, though I like using the Velocity Spider-Man Suit, and Black Widow in the Gray costume is another favorite to go with all these. Against them, there are a lot of great villains now, like Ultron, Kang, Red Skull, Zemo, Magneto, Dr. Doom, Crossbones, Diamond Select Taskmaster and Diamond Select Abomination, even Diamond Select Carnage, and a whole lot more probably, including lots of Hydra Goons since I bought 3 of the 2-pack sets, and also the Hydra Supreme and Zola 2-pack.
@@aFoxyFox. Damn.....that's a lot. I literally started collecting Marvel Legends last month 😂 I was always aware of Marvel Legends, but a good majority of them just weren't that appealing to me. The movie figures didn't look that appealing to me and some of the comic figures look very generic. Plus for the quality, I thought $20 was asking too much. But, I wanted another Marvel line to invest in since I didn't have as many comic book figures as I did video game figures. I wanted a Rogue figure since she's one of my favorite Xmen, but the juggernaut wave one just wasn't doing it for me. Then I learned that they released the updated Retro Wave Rogue and that was the first Marvel Legends figure where I thought "This actually looks like a collectible." I was so impressed with her that I went on and got Retro Wave Gambit. Now I just want to do the Avengers and X-Men in their retro looks. I recently picked up the Wal-Mart Exclusive Grey suit black widow and even though the hip articulation could be better, it was still aesthetically pleasing and the look grew on me. I also want to get Retro Wave Deadpool and the Dr. Strange figure. For Spider-man, I'll probably buy an import for him. I don't really like the ab crunch they've been using on recent spidey figures
@@Mattyboy-dn4oo That is all true, I agree with your assessment and tastes. If you have any other ideas about things like this, I'd very much like to hear them and I appreciate all that you've written here. I too felt that Marvel Legends weren't good enough looking, and had avoided them for quite a while, until maybe one day I got some kind of big deal with someone and ended up with a whole lot, but even then it didn't feel the same as I never had the chance to open up my package and order before ending up in a new location, where I visited a Toys R Us and picked up a Mr. Sinister and a Loki, being more impressed with the Mr. Sinister, and then there was a space before getting into online purchasing over in this new location and it quickly built into another huge collection that kept growing and wanting to cover more ideas and to remember various things. So, in David's new video about the Hasbro Stream, were any of those new figures of interest to you? I'm not totally pleased with the Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures either, particularly with their red pegs on the blue. I liked the Ultimate Spider-Man from the two pack with Vulture that was a Walmart Exclusive, but the figure was a bit small and short for my tastes. A lot of the time I just get whatever based on design elements that I like and I like to think about or remember or attach some sort of ideas to, so when you were talking about how you didn't like the look of certain things, I remember feeling that way as well, and I agree, I had the same experiences and chain of thinking with the Rogue figure (as she and Gambit are my favorites from the X-Men team). Does anything end up influencing your decisions a little more, like do you look into the comics, or to the cartoon or various video games, memories, or just current exploration? Has picking up collecting these (were you collecting other things before these?) become an expensive endeavor so far for you? I think that I've very probably or most certainly spent a silly amount of money of toys! I've been at it all my life though, with certain periods of not doing it (but buying other things then, like games)
The reason why I couldn't get him is because I didn't have $35.00 dollars at the time and when I do, I will get him because that 20th Captain America will in fact go great with AI or 80 years Ironman, 80 years Thor, Hulk, vintage collection Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, Antman, Wasp, Vision, Scarlet Witch and the other Avengers team up characters like vintage collection, Black Panther, Hercules, Tigra, Captain Marvell, Thunderstrike, and Jocasta.
Brother Theodore Zemo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g2Fg2H3sucI.html Also, in the video, it mentions "Godzilla The Musical" haha, which you made! I think Dr. Octopus was inspired by Brother Theodore, like the hair and the clothing and way of speaking. I was trying to find this hilarious scene though from one of my favorite films: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HMNjCNyZkxY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sToLkxKEVXg.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-msBNXwNlN4g.html Haha, I loved Zemo having the crazy temper problem, it reminded me of Meistrich in The Impostors from 1998 (a great movie to see if you haven't already). I had also just seen a clip (with a pretty insane and "toxic" seeming comments section) which had a German voice actor supposedly performing a type of German accent: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--UaRNl0LV5o.html So yours was not bad at all! It was a lot of fun haha. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QU6tQY3eMLM.html This is about a "Real German Accent": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W0-GTJgwp9M.html Here is a native German professor who works in South East Asia I think and speaks English with a German accent: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NkF1OcfPt84.html I wouldn't change a thing about your Zemo, I thought it was great and very funny! Wonderful job! So many great favorites out of these characters and voices lol. Also! You might want to consider doing an As Told By Toys of the comic book story you mentioned during the Live Stream, which Mark Abnett said was garbage (while you were praising it)! What was it? King in Black or something? I'd love to see you perform that story!
Did ya ever consider getting the Marvel Now Captain America? I really wanna get it because I'm kinda making a Marvel now setup and I do think I need your help for this one.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Yeah I really wanna get a Captain America as well as a Thor for my collection. I think I'll go for the 20th Anniversary Cap and Marvel select Marvel Now Thor because that spinning Mjolnir effect is way too cool!
One thing I do wonder is why they changed the hips. The 80th anniversary ones go out way further add to the “same colored trunks” look classic Captain America has.
What about me? I subscribed when you asked and took the number over to 50 when it was 49 or something! I've also been showing off your great work to various people and in comments because I think it deserves it, you're doing an awesome job! Congratulations on exceeding 50 subscribers! Here's to the next 50 and your 100th Subscriber Celebration as well!
@@astronakt That is interesting. I've never heard of that before. Is that a reference to the ghost that resided under Shakespeare's pond and tickled his fully adult ducks under their bellies while they floated and swam around? How did you become familiar with that?
One good action figure, one OK action figure and one much needed character (we had a Zemo but we needed a classic version). I would prefer if Hasbro released more classic comic versions of the unreleased characters, they still have a long way to go. Thanks for the review David.
Oh man, I am so jealous that you have both of those, and they arrived at the same time?? Amazing! I've got 2 Caps preordered at different places, I might even keep both! Zemo I've gotta try to hunt down at a Walgreens someday, wish me luck! I really love the look of these two figures and I can't wait to have both of them and have them battle each other!
Man it's been a while since I been on your channel David, but happy to see your still doing your best work wish you luck to keep growing as a RU-vidr and have a good day.
What have you been up to and where have you been or what have you been watching besides David? I'm just curious! Have some other channels been keeping your attention more regularly otherwise? I'd be interested in taking a look at those! What do you think might have caused you to check out other things or not be around for a while? That sort of information may be able to help David to figure out ways in which he can keep people viewing his videos and not getting tired of them and going on to do other things instead! To keep the audience captivated, and captive! Captive America!
@@aFoxyFox. Love the energy. You know just life getting a sense in being out and enjoying nature, don't get me wrong I love my action figures just you know everyone needs a break from things no matter how much they may love it I guess. Hopefully that helped and take care.
@@nocuzlikewhosaud It does help a ton actually! I've been suggesting to David that possibly too much action figure stuff all the time might become wearisome for some people too! I think that is great you've been checking out the beautiful nature outside, since I've been stuck inside more than ever before for a while now since the constant and repeated news about this or that lockdown or new strain or whatever.
