Nah look at any other channel thats still around from back then. Same intro, same background, same editing, same rating system. Channel has remained remarkably consistent over the years, which is fantastic for a channel like this. Granted he of course looks slightly different 8 years on.

They probably think the 1940s setting is too boring. I personally liked the whole idea that the entire movie took place in the 40s.

No, it didn't. The portrayal of WW2 setting and period is extremely shallow. Too much style, not enough realistic contrast to bounce off the ridiculous premise of the main character. It would make more sense if Captain America and Skull were the only extraordinary things in the overall film, but they're instead the most plausible ones. I wanted Band of Brothers kind of movie with Captain America in it, not a worse version of Indiana Jones and Rocketeer.

@@antona.1327 idk I don't see that at all. It may be shallow, yes I agree fair enough but it's grounded. Except maybe for the Tesseract stuff ok i see what you mean. Never mind. Maybe your idea of what it could've been would've been better but I love it at least, there's so much to like. Although your idea would've maybe been better. Red Skull was an underwhelming villain, maybe Arnim Zola should've become the villain at the end after the Skull is taken out. I wish we got your idea but as it stands, I like it. Also I wish Bucky was a kid. And the Human Torch (original android 40s not Johnny Storm) and Toro and stuff were in it and the Howling Commandos got development and Peggy went with them. Steve's journey is really great in this movie. I enjoy it a lot. And the first avenger suit is my second favorite live action suit and my favorite MCU live action Cap suit. My favorite is the 2nd 1979 suit. So that says a lot about me. I also think the First Avenger Suit is also objectively one of the best.

This movie is meh it starts falling apart halfway through. The hydra army is incredibly incompetent and nowhere near as menacing as actual nazis. The whole war just seems very fantastical with the very flashy artstyle and these overpowered weapons in hydra that no one can use properly. It makes you wonder why their US faction is even bothering with the hydra menace when theyre not really doing anything threatening meanwhile the nazis and the axis in general in the same time period were a fucking global threat invading other countries and murdering millions meanwhile hydra is just relocating from base to base. They really could have done so much more with this movie

This movie did well in the box office and has good review scores, how is it underrated

I've started watching the marvel movies over again, this is the second time. My first time through took me 3 sessions to finish it, but I'm REALLY going to try and get through it this time. Maybe now that I've seen how awesome he can be judging from Avengers 1, 2, Winter Soldier, and Civil War, the first Captain America film will be a little bit more bearable. Wish me luck...

Almost without a doubt civil war will be better than iron man 2.

Jkop The first Captain America already beats Iron Man 2, the second Captain America is on par with if not slightly better than Iron Man 1 imo, so Civil War just needs to be better than Iron Man 3 for the trilogy to be better than Iron Man's in my opinion

I felt the same way, mostly because it stands on it's own. It's a complete movie, where the other ones felt like they were missing something, I came out of Captain America feeling like I'd had an experience. Also, the montage was sorta fitting.

Mr J now Cap was always the leader. Even when the Chitauri attacked Iron Man says “call it captain”. In age of Ultron Cap calls all the shots and directs the team. And in iron man says Caps the boss “I just pay for everything and make everyone look cool”

"Trilogy"? There was five pre-Avengers movies.

Raver Reviews "The Incredible Hulk" and the first "Iron Man" were before taking serious the idea of making the Avengers. To assemble the team, they must have more members, so they released "Iron Man 2", "Thor" and "Captain America". This is the trilogy I was talking about, three excuses for Marvel before going straight to the Avengers. None of them were good in comparassion to the rest of the movies Marvel did. They just wanted to bring our attention to make The Avengers a bigass blockbuster
