It has been awhile since we have been to that one. We would like to go there again. I remember it being such a beautiful building and interior. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm re-watching this delicious looking video. We may be visiting the area within the next two weeks. Thank you to all three of you for all of your hard work on your lovely family vlogs. But most of all, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 💙🩵. ~ YOUR FANS IN Nortwest, Pennsylvania.
We appreciate your kind comment. It means a lot to us. You will love Captain George's Seafood. Huge variety and all you can eat crab legs and shrimp. Thanks for watching and commenting. It does take a lot of work to put together the vlogs and it's always nice to hear from our subscribers that they are enjoying them.
As you can tell David is a crab leg lover too. He can spend hours there crackin' them. If you haven't been to a Captain George's Seafood Restaurant, you definitely need to try one out! Hope y'all are well!
Captain George's is David's favorite place to eat! He loves their crab legs and all their other seafood. Lots of options for the seafood lover! Thanks for watching!
I love crab legs. I always loved Captain George's. It's not a place you go often so I guess the price is good. I love Williamsburg. Hope you all have a great time.
This is "my place". It's my favorite and if ever given a choice this is where I'd go. They have the best seafood buffet in my opinion. I've been to all the locations and they all are equally good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Went to Captain George’s Seafood and didn’t invite me! I’m so hurt. 😉❤️ Cindy, I’m proud of you starting out healthy. I must admit I’d just dive into the seafood just like David! And yes, I’m an Old Bay fan too David! Another great review! Thanks guys.
If ever you want to meet up at the Captain please let us know. Any reason for David to go to 'The Captain" is a good reason. Appreciate your continued support!
Awesome! Where do you live? (If you don't mind me asking). Which Captain George's Restaurant do you normally go to? We have been to all of them but the Williamsburg location is the one that we go to the most.
@vafunseekers we are just across the VA line in Moyock. We've been to the one on the Outer Banks and to the one in Pungo VA before it was torn down.. many years ago..lol
@@tinasrandomthings2553 Wow, I don't even remember there being one in Pungo. We have been to Pungo before to the Strawberry Festival. They have not had the festival since Covid.
We love the food at Captain George's! I can never eat enough to make it worth the $50 - but Jack tries to make up for that for me. The variety of seafood and desserts is always so great. And I do love those crab legs. Thanks for sharing one of our favorites!
This is David's favorite restaurant. Just like you I don't eat enough to make it worth the $50 price tag. David definitely eats more than $50 worth of food. He loves those crab legs! However when we compare the price to some of the seafood restaurants we ate at in Destin it does not seem quite as high. Appreciate you guys so much!
Watched this while fasting for an A1C blood test. Beats being tempted to eat! If I ever get down that way, I'll have to give Captain Georges a try. Great video. God Bless!
That sounds like cruel and unusual punishment! This is David's happy place! He loves the crab legs here! Hope everything goes well with the blood test.
You will definitely enjoy Captain George's. There is plenty of stuff to do in the area. Especially if you like history. Yorktown and Jamestown is great to visit too.
Now I want to go to Williamsburg; you’ve made me so hungry! That seafood bar looks out of this world. I’d eat myself silly consuming steamed shrimp and crab legs. Now I understand why you spend several hours here. Another great video.
The Norfolk Special is great! David's favorites are the crab legs and shrimp. Of course he likes everything. I really enjoy the shrimp and so does Carly. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's David's favorite place to eat! He tears up the crab legs! There are also locations in Virginia Beach, Nags Head and Myrtle Beach. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Our pleasure! It's hard to beat this seafood buffet. We always enjoying eating here too. Hope you get there again soon. Thanks for watching and commenting.
My dad took us to Captain George’s in Newport News (I believe) on a vacation over 30 years ago. It was a memory that stayed in my head and I’d been wondering if it was as good as I remembered. This video not only brought back great memories and reassured me that the buffet was awesome, but it also made my wife want to go! Looks like we’re planning a VA trip sometime soon!
That is so awesome! It's David's favorite place to eat. Let us know if you come in our area. We are in central Virginia. You both will love Captain George's!
@@vafunseekers it’s probably a good thing there are none near us. I’d be fatter and broke. We have so much traveling we want to do in and around this part of the world and it’s so hard as we have a sick dog who may need another major surgery. Hard to leave em home for more than a few hours and harder to bring em with us. When we do make it up that way, we’ll be sure to reach out! Until then, we are vicariously filling our bellies by gorging on your videos!
We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Captain George’s in Williamsburg after seeing your video. We went September 12, 2023 around 4pm. Everything was as you described, and we left there stuffed to the gills! On a sad note, a couple sitting near us, had the woman jumping up screaming, because the man fell over in his chair. An EMT was eating at the restaurant and jumped into action with CPR. An ambulance was called, and it is believed the man had a heart attack. We prayed for him, and hope he made it. We appreciate your visit that gave us the idea for our anniversary dinner.
Happy Anniversary! So glad you enjoyed Captain George's! It is David's favorite place to eat in the Universe! lol Praying the man will recover from the heart attack. Appreciate you watching and commenting. It always makes us happy when someone goes to a location we have reviewed , but even more so when it is a special occasion. Wishing you many more years of happiness together!
Thank you so much! I called Captain George’s and asked about the man, and I was told he survived. So glad to hear that, and we believe the EMT saved his life!@@vafunseekers
Thanks so much! Appreciate you watching. No, I work for Appomattox Sheriff's Office. I've worked here my entire career. Thank you brother for your service!
so, is dave military or retired military? he strikes me as a military guy or maybe state pd? im so glad that i watched this full from dinner as seafood is my fav thing ever!
If you ever have a chance to go to a Captain George's you really need to. You will enjoy it! David is actually a Sheriff's Deputy. He definitely has the look. It's funny that you see some officers when they retire grow out their hair. I don't think David will ever do that.
@@vafunseekers i didnt see your reply until just now. I knew it! my hubby and i are retired pd (fairfax county) and i also took 911 calls for years. so, i just had a feeling he was one or the other.
as you know by now, we love this place. the ONLY thing i had to call them out for is the fake fried scallops. they are made from hake or sometimes another fish, but its cheaper that way. i asked them to call them “imitation fried scallops” but they said no. so, thats fine. i know scallops and im sure those that know scallops noticed that too. but the food is soooooo good there just the same.
So you have visited a Captain George's before! Cool. I couldn't tell you about the scallops. David eats those. They do have the most impressive seafood buffet that we have ever been to.
@@vafunseekers yup, i saw that he got some but i didnt see him comment on it, but they are tough and dense, and are not scallops. i finally got them to admit to it. not trying to be mean at all, but everyone knows the fake crab is fake, but we all love it. but just tell us what it is, its often cut from Hake fish if i recall, i would have to google that again. im so glad i stumbled on you guys, as i really get a kick out of your food trips. i have gone to capt georges in williamsburg a few times. often for a 2 day birthday trip, stayed in the hotel right next door but that place was SCARY then, so i bet its even more scary now. lol
@@gailsfoodandstuff We have been to all the locations. This is the one we go to the most because it is closest to us (about 2 hours and 45 minutes). We typically go a couple times a year. I agree with you that they need to advertise things as what they really are.
@@vafunseekers Would love to see VDACS go into restaurants and check their milk and chocolate milk to see if it's "real", and not "low-fat" or "fat-free". Both of the latter are cheaper as milkfat is valuable for use in many other things.
me again… so, do this.. make a short video (where its under a min and has to be resized into a square or upright cell phone shape. i do the square. then at the end of your videos, verbally say that a link to the full video is in the “description” and also the “pinned” comments so they can just click on the link and you get new subs that way, and new viewers. shorts get a ton of views most of the time, brining you more subs. i figured this out just recently. so i try to do that when its good to have both.
We have done shorts but have noticed that they don't seem to do as well as they use to. I have done a short saying be on the watch out for the full video coming out. I will have to try as you suggested with the link. When I do a short I usually video in that format. Not sure about the square you referred to.
@@vafunseekers the square is when you go into your pics, hit “edit” then there is a little “box” shaped icon at the top, you click on that, and at the bottom, all these “ratio” sizes open up.. click the square, but not the other ratios. it means you can take your long video, edit that down to a square. shorten it to under 1 min, and voice over, at the end, to see the link to the long. look at my last one about the salmon, click on the short first.
@@vafunseekers yup, the square shows more vs having the super skinny view so when i film, i do my best to keep everything center, so that what is in my “long” or full vidoes with full screen, will also fit in the shorts. i use “i-movie” its free on apple phone or ipad. its a wonderful editing tool. if you have heard of “food and travel with danny the medic” he came down, from NY a few months ago, to do a colab with me and showed me how easy it was to use and how to better edit stuff and even add music. ;-)
Oh my goodness! I think I would have had to leave for the night after that happened. I'm sure there are lots of wild happenings at a place that is as busy as this! Thanks for watching and commenting.
