Fun fact: in the comics Captain Marvel are very different characters along Marvel history, man, woman, even her friend's daughter in this movie, Monica Rambeau was one of them (in 1982). Another one: Goose the flerken's name in the comic was originally Chewie (for Star Wars' Chewbacca).

The one bad thing about watching these so close together, and also mixing them with other movies to react to, is the lack of time to talk all about each movie for a year with your friends -- that's when you are always reminded of names and places and callbacks. It should be _easy_ to recognize that Jude Law (Yon-Rogg) is not a good guy when he's hanging out and plotting with Ronan. But many don't get the connection untiI the end

Marvel told Fury to only call if it's an emergency, and every other fight they were able to handle. Though in reality, there were a couple of times before that I suspect he would've called on her for sure. But other than Infinity War, C-53 was never really in danger of being overtaken. It's a very fun and interesting movie, with a lot of opportunity for nitpicking it to death.

Agreed. Captain Marvel is probably the most underrated Phase 3 movie. Not my favorite MCU movie, but a surprisingly solid one.

There is a sequel to "Captain Marvel". But before that you have to watch the series "Ms Marvel" otherwise you won't understand the sequel. The sequel is called "The Marvels". 😊 Most people hate "Captain Marvel" and its sequel, "The Marvels". I didn't think both films were that bad. 😊

@@josefhorndl3469 Some of the TV shows were excellent, Emmy nominations, etc... and were just longer movies, especially if you waited to stream the entire series instead of waiting a week or more when 1st released. But, yes, Wanda Vision viewing is needed to understand Multiverse of Madness (even though the idiot Director, Sam Raimi didn't). And, even more so, the 2 characters who team up with Captain Marvel in The Marvels were introduced and character-developed in Wanda Vision and Ms. Marvel- so watching "The Marvels" without the shows would make the viewer wonder who the heck the other 2 MAIN characters are.

@@josefhorndl3469The one thing that definitely sets the MCU apart from most other franchises is its connectivity and its way of telling stories that fold into each other. It’s what the fans clamored for from the beginning. If it’s not your bag, you were never much of a fan. It replicates the comics, and, believe me, there are definitely comics you won’t understand the context for if there’s another comic that preceded it that’s all but required reading. World War Hulk makes damn little sense if you don’t know what led up to it. Hell, same with the comics civil war. “Oh, you’re doing something no one has ever done before. It bothers me. Stop it.” If what sets it apart sets you off, find something else to watch. Try Transformers. It’s simple enough to follow.

First of all, it's Spiderman FAR FROM HOME after Endgame. The Spiderman movie you're thinking about is FAR FROM THAT because it's called NO WAY HOME and you have tons of tv shows and movies to watch before that. You have to get advice from your patrons to stay on the right track. It sounds like you're gonna go way out of order

No movie isn't underrated, just Brie Larson made fans really mad with her stupid interviews and keep pushing woke agenda in everything, NO Skrulls aren't good guys. Kree is millitary society with somekind of racist ideology, but Skrulls are like plague taking planets from their people and killing them, and making from rest slaves. These Skrulls on earth is small part which isn't that radical, some of them are trying be good, to find home...but if you'll watch Secret Ivasion - you'll know skrulls better;)

I always find it funny how closeted misogynists so easily give away their prejudice. This movie bridges so many different storylines together, sets up another movie and a show, introduces a major faction in the MCU, and introduces a major character in the MCU. With all of that, misogynists will claim that it was unnecessary, giving away that they are not actually objectively reviewing the movie, but instead hating on it because it has a female lead. It is not women's fault that they don't like you, so stop hating on them for making you aware of your own shortcomings. The world does not revolve around you or your experience, so stop trying to deny women agency just because it makes you feel inferior. That is, again, not THEIR fault.

Not because she's a women but because she's a boring character. Funny how Jessica Jones, Gamora, Okoye, Nebula, Wanda, Natasha & so many others are so loved by the fans! because they're well written interesting characters that actually connect with audiences. What does this movie set up that's good? Secret invasion? Absolutely Awful! The Marvels? Biggest bomb in mcu history. Oh but thankfully we learned Nick fury lost his eye to kitty cat! An we got to see the character of Mar-Vell in live action & you cast Annette Bening for the role? lol terrible. All this movie does is retroactively jump through hoops causing so many continuity plot holes just to shoehorn a character nobody asked for into the MCU to be the future of it. Only to 5 years later be essentially pushed out of the franchise because surprise surprise fans don't care for her lol. Everything "set up" in this movie did nothing but get rejected by fans because its shit.
