In the original Secret Wars, Doctor Doom's face manifested itself as a mirror image of Reed Richard's own. When Doom became cosmic-powered, the process probed his deepest desires in regards to self-actualization and ultimately granted them. One of the results was causing his once heavily-scarred and disfigured visage to materialize as that of the man he envied the most: Mr. Fantastic. So, rather ironically, the face of Cosmic Doctor Doom is essentially the face of Reed Richards. Although the horrible condition of Victor's *true* face was known to readers at that time, it was never actually revealed during the course of the series.
Kyle, I loved the Secret Wars Series one of best comics crossover series of all times. In my neck of the woods Jim Shooter made an appearance (relatively recently)and I jumped at the opportunity to meet the series creator. Started writing comics at 15 and an editor to reckon with as some will tell you. This 2-pack also hits me in feels. This Doom is iconic and was rendered well. I always was a fan of Captain Marvel one of my favorite female Avengers besides Wasp and Scarlet Witch. Police officer and capable leader. Nice outro as you enjoyed the nostalgia 👍✌️
I want this but I'm going to try to play the long game. When I started reading comics Monica was Captain Marvel and she's always been my Captain Marvel. Never been a big fan of Carol Danvers taking the name. Very good figure of Captain Marvel by Hasbro. Right out of the comics and she has a cool, unique look. I never had this Doom figure but I do remember it and it's cool. Interesting to have an unmasked Doom which I remember from the Secret Wars comic. Good deep cut set.
Awesome figures!! Love the Doom , definitely want to pick him up. Hopefully playing the long game can get set for a deal not really interested in Capt Marvel
Great review. Doom is my favorite character and my first Marvel Legends was the original Toybiz. Counting the movie figures, variants and various sizes, there are more Doom figures than people realize. I have like 25 and maybe 10 short of a full collection.
@@SuperMazdaBros I have the monster Hunter, 90´s animated series and even the masher. My count is of all articulated figures, there are more that I dont need or that are simple repaints too expensive to get.
Great review, Kyle. While i was familiar with Dr. Doom before secret wars, i mostly read spiderman comics so the secret wars was the first real time following Doom. I want this figure, but have no interest in cap marvel. Will have to long game this one.
