There is a big piece of the puzzle missing here. Yes, Zana's results showed she was sub-Saharan African. But she and her son, Khwit, both exhibited archaic traits not consistent with coming from modern human populations (European, Asian, or African). They had huge skulls with unusual characteristics that were not modern, such as pronounced brow ridges and huge eye sockets. So the mystery has not been solved. Both Zana and Khwit were able to perform physical feats that suggested they had superhuman strength and agility. Running faster than a horse or being able to swim across a raging river are examples of activities not within the range of human beings, not even trained Olympic and professional athletes. One relative of Khwit saw him get drunk at a party and start dancing while swinging around a huge table with his teeth. Look again at the photos of the skulls of Khwit and Zana. These do not fall within the bounds of modern human populations. Not only did they not look like modern folks from Georgia, they also did not look like modern folks from Africa.

Minute 12:46, you can see the genetic distance, the gray one is Neanderthals from the Altai, and the genetically closest humans are the Khoisan from Southern Africa, however the humans with the most similar skulls are the Indigenous people of the Horn of Africa, In fact Zana is genetically very similar to Dinka and Luhya, indigenous to the Horn of Africa, because in Southern Africa they were colonized by West Africans such as the Bantues, and the Horn of Africa was colonized by the Cushites who have a West Eurasian mixture.

Keep in mind she was stronger than they were and after a certain point could have just ran off or did whatever she wanted. She stayed around because by comparison it was not too bad a trade off. I initially found this video to be clear and thorough, but the blatant omission of Bryan Sykes’ work on Zana is quite telling, at least in my opinion. Sykes’ work found that Zana was indeed African, but was archaic African. Why was Sykes’ work not mentioned? And why was more of Igor Bourtsev’s earlier work on Zana not mentioned? This video makes it seem as though it has provided the definitive narrative about Zana. It has not.

Does Hypertrichosis explain why she could never learn any human language despite living with and also being trained and domesticated by these villagers for over two decades? Moreover, does Hypertrichosis explain her immense stature and what could also be described as superhuman strength? DNA aside, something seems a little fishy here with respect to the official consensus view.

It is known that humans who live in the wild without learning language lose the ability to learn language as adults. On the other hand, the populations of the Horn of Africa are characterized by being tall; some ethnic groups such as the Dinka are the tallest populations in the world.

I dont buy for a second that Zana was just a misplaced unfortunate African. We live in a time where absolutely everything is politically charged. Truth and facts suffer as a result. I think Zana was the missing link that we've been looking for, but the indisputable DNA results are extremely problematic for woke, socio-political reasons. The answer is right in front of us, but must be ignored because of feelings. None of this changes the fact that Zana was deserving of dignity and human consideration that she never received.

@@shiny2423 You already spoke at least one language. The pathways for language comprehension already existed when you learned you second and third language. The pathways that allow you to understand language develop when you are very young. During this period the language or languages are learned differently then in later years. They become intrinsic to how you think. You hear a word and it connects directly to the image of the thing that it means. When you hear the word dog your mind pictures a dog. Later on new languages are learned by association with your primary one(s). You hear a word and you brain connects it to the word it translates. For instance You hear the Japanese word Inu and you mind pulls up the word dog which leads to the image of the dog. But your mind has to already have the word dog to associate with the image. The less human contact During that crucial period the less language a person can learn later. Usually little more then some basic commands and maybe some very basic words. It can even be hard for the to learn to walk if they were severely isolated from before they learned how. There is a disturbingly lot of information about this from work with such individuals. @WaterworthsWoodshop
@WaterworthsWoodshop Месяц назад
Not sure on the physical traits, but perhaps that was how it was perceived from the locals in that region? The superhuman strength to me makes sense. If she was feral for the formative years of her life, she likely developed muscles that us typical humans have, but they sit almost completely dormant, even in physically active individuals or weight lifters. You can see this readily in what is often referred to as "farm boy strength". You can find these individuals who grew up throwing around bales, tightening bolts, digging, wrestling animals, etc. These people more often than not do not look strong and when lifting weights in a weight room may not do any better than others around them, but when it comes to utilizing strength in every day tasks, they are extremely more capable than someone who may appear much stronger. I am not surprised that Zanas DNA came back normal. My theory is that Zana and others like her are Bigfoot, yeti, sasquatch etc.. I think that feral humans are what is identified as bigfoot....this is why we never find skulls or bones, why we do not need a breeding population, why they have a tendency to pop up in certain areas, why their body odor is so repulsive to us, etc. I also imagine that a human, truly living in the remote wilderness as a feral human would look and live very similar to how we imagine a bigfoot would live and act. Just my stupid take, but it makes sense to me!

So if you watch this whole video it shows nothing but the fact that an anomalous African woman ended up living and dying in Abkhazia without ever learning the local language. The stories of her being covered in fur are probably untrue as, I suspect, were the rest of the local legends surrounding her capture and life among those people. Although Zana may have had hypertrichosis, a genetic abnormality that causes excessive body hair, It is clearly stated in this video that her DNA was modern human, "just like us", a direct quote from the video.

It would be interesting to compare Zana's and Khwit's DNA with that of native Americans. It is commonly accepted that homo erectus originates in Mesopotamia: the Arab Peninsula. From there they entered the Balkan and later Europe. From the Balkan they migrated into Russia, and via the Bering Straight they reached the America's, giving rise to the native Americans. Now could it be possible that some of those people had hypertrichosis by birth, giving rise to the Sasquatsch and Bigfoot legends, while others never acquired hypertrichosis and were considered 'normal'. Even although Zana, and maybe her children lived in conditions placing them 'lower' than human beings in their surroundings, at least her children were more accepted and in modern days give us insights in the variety and history of today's distribution of human diversity across the world.
