An adventure through Talkin Fell in the Pennines, capturing the majestic Scots Pine trees during the golden hour on a mesmerising journey through Talkin Fell, as I attempt to capture the elusive beauty of Scots Pine trees bathed in the golden glow of the winter sun. Watch as I strive to compose the perfect shot, only to be surprised by the fleeting nature of light. Discover the magic of Cumberland's borderlands through my lens, and witness the challenges and triumphs of chasing the last rays of sunlight in this stunning landscape. Watch as I strive to find the perfect composition in the dwindling sunlight. Spoiler alert: I missed the last shot!

The gate getting away from you was my first laugh, then the thumbs up was also great. The country lane shot was lovely mate. The light at the end was bubbling my Brooke.

Thankyou Andrew once again you have made the ordinary look sublime! Especially hunting for sun light in the borders. Good luck with that

Great video Andrew! And always appreciate your humor...sometimes photography videos can be over serious and dry, but you always give me a good chuckle. Love that image of the country road and Scots pines at 5:20, absolutely beautiful and idealistic. Hope you are off to a great start to 2024! Take care!

Thanks Paul. It's nice that my humour is appreciated 🤪 I'm getting a bit deluded with a lot of the youtube photography channels, I keep falling asleep mid play. Just not entertaining. I like yours because they are interesting and informative beyond just photography. Keep up the good work in 2024 😁

Great video again, Andrew. Have you uploaded a video about how you use your Mark II, settings, preferences, etc.? I recently bought a Mark II but am struggling with it a bit. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Hi Thomas. White Balance = Daylight or 5500K as a starting point. Camera settings = From the 'Standard' Picture Style settings. Contrast - 1, Saturation +1, Sharpness 4 (+1 from Standard) The sharpness is only for jpegs and video. What app do you use for the raw files? I use the free Canon Digital Photo Professional + Photoshop and sometimes Luminar Ai.

@@andrewfindlayphoto Andrew, thanks for your speedy reply. Your White Balance and Standard Picture settings help a lot. I haven’t shot much RAW, mostly shooting in jpg. My Mac is ancient (10 years old) and can barely launch Photoshop. I’ll need to wait till I’ve purchased a new Mac one of these days. Looking forward to your next videos.

@@ThomasFasano My mac is old too. When you get a new one, RAM is more important than you think. Get double what Photoshop's minimum. The if doing jpegs you'll have to play around with the contrast settings - 1 is for days with open shadows.

@@ThomasFasano My Mac is old too. You should look into putting more ram into your computer it might be a cheaper option. Mine has 16Mbs.

Yes, good advice about getting as much RAM as possible. My next Mac will be loaded to the gills.@@andrewfindlayphoto
